Question about switching games

OK, now that I have Fallout: New Vegas finally set up and running, I want to get Fallout 3 running in Vortex as well, the only thing I'm afraid of is, when switching games, it looks like Vortex un-deploys the mods, and deploys the mods of the game you switch to.

This has me worried because I don't want to switch to managing a new game, then switch back to FONV, and find all the work I did getting certain mods to "play together juuuuuust right" undone.
Due to an overly complicated HUD setup procedure inherent with certain FONV HUD mods.

I (think I) understand that the files that were chosen to "SAVE" rather than "Revert" are written directly to the DATA folder, but all other files are just hard linked, so, what happens to those hard-links once you switch to a new game?
Do they still exist, or are they scrapped, and then re-written/re-established when you switch back to the previous game?

When Vortex switches games and does all of that stuff when switching (with the big long progress bar with mod names in it), is it WRITING files, or is it just re-syncing to the files that are already there, so nothing I changed will be inadvertently overwritten and/or undone, correct?

I just want to make sure my mod management fro FONV is safe if I switch back to FO4, or FO3

Each game has its own set of mods and loadorders. all that switching games does is switch which game you are seeing at the time. It should retain any and all settings, load order, etc.

You can switch games at any time. I´ve setup FO3, FONV and SSE with Vortex and was able to play all 3 with all installed mods even without Vortex running at the time.

I concur ! I can switch between SkyrimSE and Fallout4 anytime and all my mods/plugins will be there even if I have not logged into Vortex.
