TheBaconOverlord
When I hit a single mod to check for updates, or several even, it says it's checking for updates, but none are reflected when there are several that have been updated since the last time I downloaded them. I'm trying to re-download the new files and install them, but I'm afraid I'm going to break my save this way. Please fix this or give us a workaround to make this work without re-assigning load order positions, etc.
UrizenDe
You can restore a Loadorder by selecting your savegame.
TheBaconOverlord
Any fixes for this yet or information? I still don't get any notices when mods are updated. I know for sure some of them have updates, I'll select the mod and hit "check mod for update" and it doesn't show anything anymore. It USED to show the version number in red and give you the option to udpate it. Now I have to go manually check them on the website and do a fresh install with the new version and uninstall the old one. If this is just broken, that's fine, but can someone validate that it's not just my install?
Tannin42
Vortex will never be able to discover all updates because mod authors are extremely inconsistent in providing version information. If you had given concrete examples I could investigate if I can improve the detection to maybe catch more updates but again, that detection can't be 100%. Installing a new version manually shouldn't be an issue though. Since Vortex uses rules to order plugins - which usually works based on the name - the load order will be the same. Whether the mod itself is compatible with your save you have to check with the mod itself though, not every mod can be safely updated but that's independent of Vortex. Well, I have Mod Configuration Menu 1.31 installed, and the latest is 1.32 - NMM SEES THIS AND REPORTS AN UPDATE IS AVAILABLE - Vortex does not. I did import these from my NMM installation. Start there before tossing it off on inconsistent authors.
HadToRegister
Actually, the website for mod pages needs to have a design where updates are foolproof, such as a form or whateverThe current system is lacking, because files uploaded that aren't the "main mod" don't get categorized and recognized properly, which is why version numbers are inconsistent between the mod page and Mod Managers. tigerbow
I have noticed the same problem. Up to week or two ago, Vortex worked like a charm in detecting mod updates. Now, "Check for Mod Updates" runs and gives me the "Checking for Mod Updates Complete" notification with nothing found, even where the Nexus Mods site will indicate that there is a more recent version of the mod available. I think that some of these same mods would previously show updates in Vortex but, to be honest, I can't say that for sure.
TheBaconOverlord
It appears this was fixed in the update I received today. Nice.

LucidGamer137
(Not sure if anyone still checks this topic) When checking for updates under the Mods tab (Vortex separates mods into "Plugins" and "Mods" for some reason) everything updates correctly, but there's no button at all under the Plugins tab to check for updates, that I can find anyway. For players like me, with 60+ mods that are all fairly recent, this means our only real way to check for "Plugin" updates is to manually find every one of our mods and manually check to make sure the versions match up. I don't know why Vortex splits mods into Mods and Plugins, a majority automatically place themselves under Plugins, which seem much more restricted compared to those that appear under the Mod tab, which I've only noticed mods start doing recently. In fact it almost broke my entire modding system a while ago, because FNIS for some reason tried to install its own data twice when it didn't need to, so I had to figure out which FNIS data set was duplicating itself in order to fix the problem. If anyone knows an easier way to update Plugin mods, or maybe transfer all Plugin mods to the Mods section (thus allowing to check for updates through Vortex) I would really appreciate it.
