Vortex does not install mods properly

Mods that are downloaded via Vortex are installed but do not appear in the loader sequence so the mods do not work because Vortex does not properly install them. Please fix the error.
I use the latest Vortex version:

In the meantime I will use the old nexus mod manager again which was much better

 9 months of alpha testing with around 15000 users and we didn't notice mods don't install correctly at all?? How did that happen?

.

Oh right, it certainly didn't...

Maybe your problem is a bit more specific than this? Meaning you might want to provide a bit more details?

I have a feeling you're just downloading the mods and not actually taking the second step and INSTALLING them, because you think Downloading = installing.

I've seen people consistently mixing up those two terms.

Ok so I know this is a very old thread, but I can say vortex doesnt install my mods.

Here is more:

I add them (from file) to the vortex library-this works fine.

However, when I want vortex to install the mod it doesnt do anything. It gets "installed" and I activate it,but even then I dont see an ESP/ESM in the plugin list (and yes,the mod has an esp).I tried restaring, but then I do see the esp in the vortex list, but it in fact isn't in my data folder. It is only in the vortex list. Then I uninstalled the mods and the esps were still on the list, untill I restarted vortex again.

Did you deploy/enable after installing?

I initally had no trouble with vortex ... so I decided to add some mods for dragon age origins.

Yes, I install after downloading and I deploy/enable the mods. All looks grand, but now my DAO will not load the 'other campaigns' and I am right in the middle of some of these campaigns. I look in my override folder of the game and there were strange happenings that I had not seen before when I install mods for DA2 and NeverWinterNights. Example: a whole second folder labeled 'package' withIN the override folder and other files. So, having learned this from Skyrim over many years playing & using mods there, I would remove and add to see if one of them was the cause. ... I ended up removing them all! Still doesn't work. Might I add, though, that with a few of the mods, the issue fixed... but then, when I went on to add in different ones... (all brought back the issue), I then could not get the game back to including the 'other campaigns' anymore regardless which arrangement.

Finally, I uninstalled the whole game and reinstall...without mods. Oh and I left Vortex unopened. Too bad for me.... game will not bring back my 'other campaigns' and the error message is that it cannot open without those. :ermm:

My game is on the Origin launcher by the way.

And thanks to anyone that can help with this weird problemo. :geek:

I am looking to see if maybe Origin clicked off something ... but I am fearful that, if that is so, I cannot load my game into Steam, for example to play it there if that is easier  :pinch:

I am having a similar problem in Skyrim SSE. Some of the mods I am installing are not actually working. They were installed, deployed, and load order checked. Yet, they are not working in game. The ones that shows immediately is Andromeda and Majestic Mountains. Some issues do not show until later because I either do not notice or I may not encounter them until several hours or days into the game. Sometimes reinstalling the mod helps but then others do not work that were previously working. Not all ESP's are being installed either. I am familiar with these mods and use many of them every time I play yet vortex does not seem to be installing them properly.

I had a similar problem last year when I tested vortex. Last year when it went over a certain number of mods it seems to stop loading some of them. I spent this past weekend reinstalling the game and all mods. I will do the same next weekend and switch back to either NMM or MO2.

I usually start my game with round 60 mods and end up with around 100 to 125. NMM and MO2 worked just fine but Vortex does not.

problem seems more that vortex wont install the mods into the steam mod folder so the game doesnt recognize it as being installed. Had to manually move everything for the game to recognize, which means i'm better off using NMM instead of vortex
