Wastelandmatrix
I just installed Fallout 3 again and want to mod it. Problem: When I try to manually direct Vortex to the folder where my Fallout.exe is located it does not find it. My path is: G:Games/Bethesda/Fallout3 When I direct Vortex to my Fallout 3 folder it only shows the Data Folder, but no other files (dll. exe. etc.) Can you help me pls? Pickysaurus
Where did you get your copy of Fallout 3? Vortex should auto detect it and if not, you must point it manually to the directory containing the main .EXE file. For reference: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Adding_a_new_game_to_Vortex
Wastelandmatrix
It's an old DVD. Yeah that was the exact thing I tried to do. I directed it to the folder, but it did not show the exe.Although when I open the folder outside of Vortex, it is right there.

Yes, the EXE itself will not be shown because you are selecting folders, not the file itself. (The button at the bottom right of the file window should say "Select Folder")
Wastelandmatrix
When I select the folder Vortex says, that It could not find the game within the folder "This directory doesn't appear to contain the game. Expected to find these files: fallout3.exe" Edited October 20, 2018 by Wastelandmatrix
Wastelandmatrix
I found the answer. The Fallout3.exe was called Fallout3ng.exe by default. So Vortex could not find it. I saw this, trying to install the unofficial Fallout Patch

BluLegacy
So first off: Why does Nexus state on their page "We support the following 635 moddable games." But in the "Supported" tab in Vortex Mod Manager, I am only presented with 44 (None of which I even own.) Also, I too am having issues with Vortex not discovering any of my games even though they are installed on the same drive with correct exe file names, within the list of games that Nexus supports etc. Not making sense to me. Because the Nexus has mods for 635 moddable games. That's all that means, it doesn't mean that VORTEX supports 635 currently. Have you tried this? I saw this, trying to install the unofficial Fallout Patch Could you please send feedback via the Vortex app regarding this, we should be able to make it recognise the censored version of the game at some point. I'm guessing renaming the EXE would break things.
