Vortex can't take Skyrim SE from NMM - 2 Errors

For the first error message, there should also be a "Fix" button that fixes this problem automatically.

The second error message indicates that you chose a location for your mod installation path that's not on the same disk drive than the game.

Make sure that the Path defined in

Settings->Mods->Mod Staging Folder

is on the same disk as the game you're modding.

And a tip: If you have a complex modding config working with NMM, I would keep it. Moving to Vortex is not recommended unless you start a whole new modding installation from scratch. Moving a complex modding config is hard and should only be done if you're well versed in modding and how Vortex works.

I have ALL on E: and partially custom pathes

E:\Steam\*

E:\LOOT\*

E:\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\*.ini

E:\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves\*.sav

E:\NMM_SE_info\SkyrimSE\Install Info\*

E:\NMM_SE_stored\Mods\*

E:\NMM_SE_Virtual\SkyrimSE\Mods\VirtualInstall\*

E:\TEMP\*

no operation and or file storage happens on C:

(because C: is a small, slow, old SSD with system files only, while E: ist a fast and big SSD with momentum cache and ALL of Skyrim etc. is on E: (also C:/Users/* is not a install od operation path for any game and points not physically on C but all with shortlinks to E)

Works fine with NMM, just except sometimes problems with uninstall of mods with mass of loose files.

MO as well as NMM can work with these structure fine.

@HadToRegister:

PLEASE stop spreading this false information!

It doesn't matter where Vortex is installed to. It's completely irrelevant! What matters is the Mod Staging path, not where Vortex is installed to!

@Dreifels:

As I said, just make sure that the "Mod Staging Folder" in set to your E:\ Drive. You also might want to set the Download path tp the E:\ Drive. That should fix all your problems.

And I have to correct you: Windows will *always* store a lot of data on C:\ and you cannot help it. Almost all applications also store their internal data in C:\Users\<username>\AppData, and only a few of them can be forced to use a different path.

C:\ shouldn't be neglected that way. But otoh, if you have like 10 GB or so of free capacity on C:\. you should be fine.

Vortex can't do Hardlinks unless it is installed on the SAME HARD DRIVE.

THAT is what I was stating.

The screenshot FROM VORTEX above even SAYS SO.

FFS, no wonder I blocked you

Do you have Vortex installed on the same drive as your games?

Because in order to do Hardlinks, Vortex needs to be on the same drive.

E:\Vortex

as I told, ALL of games is on E: No path may related a game may direct / link to an other drive than E:

(The screenshots don't say any related the Vortex install location)

No, it's about where the MODS are installed (as I've been saying), not where Vortex itself is installed.

You can block me all day, it doesn't make your statement any more correct.
