Vortex Downloads Slow

Well, I just tried downloading NC manually and my speed started at 3.23mbps and was climbing with each tick.

I canceled the download and tried it through vortex and got about 305kbps, so, if I download it, it's going to be manually

Does it do that with any other files or just NC? Because for me it is with any file on Vortex?

It was related to our new CDN rather than Vortex. That issue should be sorted by now. Thanks for letting us know.

The issue still isn't sorted. I have Fiber Optic internet, yet I'm getting speeds below 1 MB while downloading New California via Vortex. I bought premium thinking it would go faster, but I am still getting the same speeds. I turned the Download Threads to 10 and it is still slower than ever. I feel like I wasted my money on a product that isn't even working right. If the speeds don't increase soon, then I better be able to refund my purchase.

Have you tried downloading manually and trying every single download node? Are they all slow? If no, then download manually, for now, then add them to Vortex. This problem (as it related to Vortex) likely won't be resolved until we can get new nodes added to our CDN, which will take a couple of weeks, and/or the traffic from New California dies down.

Problem is still going on. Manual or not I'm getting sub 400KB/s.

You need to provide more information. Have you tried every single download node, including ones not on your continent? I'm in the UK and I can get 7MB/second download speeds form the NA servers during off-peak times.

  • 4 weeks later...

I am having really slow speeds as well, it took 2 hours to download Apachii hair pack and so far 1 and a half hours to download Ambriel's main mod. I'm watching the NFL while it does it so I have let it get on with it. I understand the need to cap the speed as they want people to go Premium which I have been in the past and hope to again in the future. However it seems they may have capped it a little slow? I am getting 7kb then jumps to 26kb , then 0 etc etc.

On another note, first time using Vortex as I have rei-installed Skyrim SE after restoring Windows 10 and I am liking the look of it.

EDIT: I just tried downloading manually from Nexus and was really slow as well, not a Vortex issue, there is a new Bethesda game out of course, bound to create more traffic on Nexus even if no mods are available for it yet.
