If solution with screenshots for Vortex and "bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1" doesn't work:

Add "Vortex - BSA Redirection.bsa" at the start of "SArchiveList=" in Fallout.ini (And/Or Fallout_default.ini), so it looks similar to this:

[Archive]
SInvalidationFile=ArchiveInvalidation.txt
iRetainFilenameOffsetTable=1
iRetainFilenameStringTable=1
iRetainDirectoryStringTable=1
bCheckRuntimeCollisions=0
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
bUseArchives=1
SArchiveList=Vortex - BSA Redirection.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices1.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa,  Fallout - Misc.bsa

I've tried everything on here to no avail, turned off VAI (Vortex archive invalidation) and turn it on again, sorted, every combo of the latter, blah blah blah, checked every single string, everything, still gettin issues. I just give up at this point. Just content to take vortex as being trash i suppose.

Necroes three year old thread:

I can't get Vortex to work, so it's Vortex's fault.

i highly doubt you've tried "everything" given that you can't even open your own thread for your own problem.

also it seems that reading isn't your strong suit which probably feeds into your "issues".

anyway - if you genuinely want help, read this, follow the instructions and see how you go, although, if i'm honest, based on that first impression, you'll struggle to get anyone to help you https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7332636-how-to-post-request-support-for-vortex/

Some reason when I change bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles to 1 then save and close, it later revert back to 0.

Found out it does this everything I re-open my game.

Ok i manage to fix it, turn out opening game launcher reset the ini file, however I now have a new issue, manage to fix the body but since I added "Vortex" to sArchivelist I now get purple textures in my game.

Did you do this manually? Just ue the AI built into Vortex under the work arounds tab.

Im not sure if anyone here was able to figure out the issue on their own, but heres what I did to solve the problem I was having. Quick note: I experienced this issue while modding Fallout 3, so maybe it could help with Fallout: New Vegas too.

If you go to Documents/Games/Fallout 3, you should see your fallout.ini. file. Click on it and press/hold the crtl. button, followed by the F key. A search bar should appear. Type in Archive to locate that section. Below it, find where it says:

SArchiveList=Vortex - BSA Redirection.bsa, Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices1.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa.

Copy this line. Go back to your Fallout 3 folder, underneath the fallout.ini, you should also see one called falloutcustom.ini. Click on it and find the Archive. Below it, you might see this:

sArchiveList=Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Fallout - Voices1.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa.

*Before proceeding, Id recommend copying this line and pasting somewhere as a backup, just in case this next part doesnt work for you.*

Go ahead and delete it and paste the new sArchive line you copied earlier from fallout.ini. Afterwards, go to file, save and exit. Run Fallout 3 and see if that makes a difference. Hope this helps!!
