The meaning of Pro-Choice ?

Well the pro choice argument has fallen flat on its face with Dems pushing third trimester abortions. They are literally talking about abortion as a choice up to the moment of birth (even in the birth canal) and in the case of Gov Northam of Virginia , after birth. Any delusion that your talking about choice is done away with now.. your talking about infanticide and the right to murder.

 

People who were against abortion have always said this type of thing can be a slippery slope that will lead to much worse outcomes. Well there is no slippery slope anymore .. your at rock bottom. Now States like California , Oregon , Rhode Island and others are looking to implement similar (or more far reaching) legislation as was passed in New York. And the one that gets me is this inclusion of mental duress as being a legitimate reason for aborting a baby... since when is child birth not stressful. Its lunacy.

 

Next will be the claim of financial duress , as in its going to be too stressful providing for that child , thus I am entitled to abort.

a most complex and sensitive subject.

I can think of few topics more fraught than this one.

These are real situations, moments few people wish to find themselves in,

and my sympathies are with them.

 

Pro-Choice, is fundamentally about voluntary reproductive rights / selective fertility.

Men, Women - people if you will, sentient beings,

deciding when and with whom, they wish to have a descendant.

Pro-Choice is about options, in their time of need;

Adoption, selective fertility management via safe and effective contraception,

and, as a last resort, 'terminal outcomes'.

in the near future, surrogacy options may provide a feasible alternative.

Ah, did you hear this particular piece of Propaganda during Trump State of the Union?

 

It's NOT true, the CRITERIA for a 3rd Trimester Abortion, Despite the Right-Wing falling and misinformation propaganda campaign to paint Democrats as "evil Baby Killers" are as follows, the Baby is "Non-Viable", meaning it cannot live outside of the Mother (I.E. born with just a brain-stem and no brain etc, or a non-viable birth defect such as Hydrops Fetalis, AND the Mother is at risk of Dying.

 

Of course, these 3rd term abortions wouldn't have to be made if Republicans stopped their stupid Crusade to Defund Planned Parenthood, so women could get proper screening throughout their pregnancies.

I'm pretty sure no one's forcing minorities to have abortions. It has more to do with poverty. I once had a discussion about this with a friend from Somalia. The gist of it was that where he was from, a large family was looked upon as a source of wealth, not for any social feel-good reasons, but because having more members in a family meant more contributors to the financial well being of the family, where as in North America having a large family would put you on the road to poverty.

 

IMO poverty is the main impetus for abortions.

No I listened to Dr Tran give her testimony under questioning as to what her bill would do and she clearly stated it would mean abortion up to the moment of birth. The Senator questioning her then asked what about up to dilation (giving birth) and she said yes her bill would allow for that. It was very clear what she was talking about and I don't need to listen to Trump to understand what she was saying. And this was before Trumps SOTU.

 

And I also am not a Republican. In fact I am not even American and there is no such thing as Republicans where I am from. Get real .. not every opinion fits your preconceived narratives.
