GrimmGrimm12
Hi, I have this game Pathfinder Kingmaker. I want to modify it. So, I went to cheathappens and got the membership. Shortly after (due to constant updates and low appeal) they have decided to put in on hold indefinitely. Great. So, I become a member on Nexus. I download Unity Mod and it does not operate correctly, then I download Vortex mod manager and it does not operate properly, then I download Nexus mod manager and it does not show the game on computer (I'm guessing because it is a Steam game) and it will not allow me to search for it. This is crazy and if I was not so stubborn, I would just burn my computer and go live in a cave. lol All I want to do is put all stats to 20 and give myself 1 million stellars. I know nothing about how to mod, but some of the mods look really nice and I have downloaded them to a folder on my desktop. With Unity Mod, when I try to drag the zip files over they will not come over. Probably because they are compressed zip files and I don't know how to change that. You can see why I went and paid for an "expensive" trainer that is worthless to me.... Please help. 1. I need to know which mod manager to use to download the Pathfinder Kingmaker mods I want and my game is on Steam. Thank you for your help. mike
Dark0ne
I played and completed Pathfinder when it first came out, and modded it a little. At the time, the Unity Mod Manager worked fine. You just have to follow the instructions exactly how they're written on the mod pages/on the UMM page. Vortex requires UMM in order to work, so if you don't get UMM to work, Vortex won't work either. I cannot provide more support than that as I haven't played it since completing it many months ago and, frankly, the second half is absolutely TERRIBLE and it angers me even to think about it

Dark0ne
Ugh, good to know, that's what happened with Wasteland 2 as well. I played Wasteland 2... Up until you end up going to the coast and away from the Desert. Some scene where you send a heli out west to see what's there and they mention drones and robots and stuff. Can't remember too much now! Then I got a bit bored and moved on (before even doing anything there). Is that when it gets bad? It was a real shame Kingmaker dropped significantly off the cliff. You can tell, literally, when their QA funding ran out and they no longer had any testers. There's basically a specific point when all the bugs start manifesting a lot more and things drop off a cliff sharp.

Yea, that's basically where it changes.People were saying it was like a completely different game after that pointI completely lost interest at that point and quit
GrimmGrimm12
Ok, back on task. So you think I did not properly download unity mod manager? I will try again,...
Dark0ne
I'm not sure if there have been any changes since I modded the game a few months ago, so I cannot say for certain. What I can say for certain is that, 3 months ago, I used UMM to mod Pathfinder Kingmaker, and it worked. I know that's not that much help, but it might suggest the issue could be on your end. Check the comments of UMM or any mods you're using and ensure people aren't stating the mods are not working -- normally if they don't work, multiple people will have said as much in the comments. GrimmGrimm12
Thank you so much Dark0ne. I will try again. I have worked this game for hours (and never got past Act 2), but I think I want to do 4 levels of Rogue/Thug for uncanny dodge or 7 levels of Rogue/Thug (so I cant get outflanked) - (and getting rapid stealth and the Dazzling display/Shattered defenses line --- and most of the great cleave line). Nothing like knocking down their resistance and AC and then hitting them with great cleave and seeing 4-5 enemies drop! lol Then I figure the rest Monster Tactician (with high UMD for wizard scroll spells). I will miss the high wizard spells (except scrolls) and not become a dragon - but I will be able to wear all the cool armors. I figured getting the short spear "Mourn" and making it my favored weapon for dazzling display. It has a really cool special effect called "Despair" and some really cool crit features (then get improved crit to double the range from 17-20 to 13-20) and the assassin's armor that adds +4 to confirm crits! hehehe. mike
GrimmGrimm12
I thought of something that might be of interest to you. I was thinking on the problem of gettting improved uncanny dodge (which you can do in 7 levels of rogue/thug). But I have a different way, choose NG alignment and go Barbarian (vanilla) for two levels. You will get rage, rage power (allows for extra bite attack), +10% movement rate and uncanny dodge. Uncanny dodge says that if you already have it, you get improved uncanny dodge (and you get it in 6 vs. 7 levels). Then do 4 levels of Rogue/Thug, (while you work on fast stealth, dazzling display/shattered defenses, and start working on power attack through great cleave - since they will be flat footed anyway). lol At 4 levels of Rogue/Thug, you get uncanny dodge (which should upgrade to improved uncanny dodge). What do you think? mike PS - Since sneak damage rules in this game and I'm not getting an animal companion and I'm not a summoner, that leaves dazzling display/shattered defenses. Of course, this is a high charisma build. I plan on going the rest wizard vs. sorcerer. The main reason is that I can copy spells into my spell book AND I can get dimension door one level sooner than sorcerer - for taking out the Lich in lonely barrows (with dimension door and the heart of Ira)….
