Afgard
Good day Nexus, i'm currently facing an inconvenient that makes Vortex too slow to deploy, as the name implies, the only deployment option that i'm able to choose from is "Move Deployment (Experimental)" at the Settings > Mods > Deployment Method tab, is it a bug or the other deployment methods have been disabled? Do i need to make a clear reinstall of Vortex? Thanks Nexusers.
HadToRegister
Do you have your Mod Staging Folder on the same drive as your games? If not, move it to the same drive (using vortex) and you'll get the other options.Vortex Basics
Afgard
Thanks so much for your response, but the thing is that the Staging folder and the game are in the same drive, the only thing that i see is that the Staging path is assembled using 2 variables like this: And even if i put the full path there and restart Vortex it doesn't allow me to select other methods. So, when you click on the Drop Down Menu in the Deployment Method, it only shows "Move Deployment"? So clicking the little folder icon to the left of the APPLY button and navigating to the Mod Staging Folder then clicking APPLY, doesn't change the Path in the Mod Staging Folder location? Yes, and no, when i navigate to the Staging folder it changes to the full path as expected, but the dropdown list still doesn't show anything else. Afgard
If i uninstall Vortex and install it again, it will not know which mods are deployed? Edit:When i choose another game to manage i'm able to choose from the 3 deployment methods, and both games are in the Steam default installation path and both of the staging folders are in the "AppData\Roaming\Vortex" folder so, it seems that once Vortex has deployed by "Move Deployment (Experimental)" it won't be able to pick another deployment method for that game. I also have tried to create a new profile so it uninstalls all the mods and then hopefully will let me pick another method but with no luck. NohxLegacy60
This exact same thing has happened to me. Was there ever any solution found?
Pickysaurus
The only reason this would happen is if your game isn't on the same HDD as the staging folder. Be sure to check the drive letter is definitely the same.
Rattledagger
In the off-chance you're using some kind of FAT as the disk system you also can't use hard-linking as deployment-method. Some external drives seems to use exFAT.
Tannin42
Rattledagger is correct.Move deployment will only be offered if the staging folder is on the same drive as the game, same as hardlink deployment. The only reason move deployment would be offered and not hard links is if the partition doesn't support links, which would usually indicate some sort of FAT filesystem (or ReFS but what kind of monster would use that on a consumer system?). Solutions would be to either reformat the disk to NTFS, move the game to a NTFS drive, continue using move deployment or try out the "Fully Virtual Deployment" that is available as an extension.
