OK....WTH is happening? What did they break now?

I have a downloads folder, which we all have when installing Vortex. Have several games that I want Vortex to manage and changing game profiles creates the appropriate files folders. I started off with Fallout 4, all was good. Decided to switch to Skyrim and start with it for a bit, no problem with the downloads. I go to switch back to Fallout 4 and Vortex shows i have no downloads....? I look in the files folders and instead of just switching back, Vortex creates a new folder inside my Skyrim folder and it does it every time I switch now and changes the pathways in the setting and I cannot change them back without moving my mods, deleting the entire folder and starting over again, in which it does the exact same thing again and changes the pathways and adds new folders. My set up was E/Vortex Downloads then the sub-folders, and everything worked well, now when I change profiles it just adds a folder such as E/Vortex Downloads/Skyrim/ with Fallout 4 and Skyrim as sub-folders.

I also noticed that when I switch profiles, it does not change the game in the downloads tab, it stays on what ever it was on before and it shows the number of downloads for the game and the total # of downloads instead of just per game.

I switch between games often depending on what I want to play for that day or week and I need a game manager that does its job. I may have to go back to NMM until Vortex is stable and does the things that I need it to, like not changing my folder pathways and showing only what pertains to the game profile that I have chosen. I have been using Vortex since last year and have not changed anything since installing, only thing different that had to be done was that I had to reinstall when it would not update, but afterward I made sure all my settings were the same and they were, it just started doing this for some reason unknown to me.

Vortex 0.17.8

I should just mention your case is an outlyer. It does not work that way for me.

I have my downloads at I:/Vortex/Downloads.

Under that I have subfolders fallout3,fallout4, falloutnv, kerbalspaceprogram, monsterhunterworld, nomanssky, skyrim, skyrinse, subnautica, thesims3, thesims4, and witcher3.

Works fine for me. Switches when I switch games.

My expectation: You set your paths up wrong when you reinstalled.

His settings/Downloads page should basically look like this:

That is the way it starts out. But when i switch games, then try and go back, it changes the pathway on its own. It has done this several times now and it started with the recent version. I have noticed several things that were not working right(for me) with the recent version and I may go ahead and go to an older one that worked for me and try later with a more updated version.

Are you clicking APPLY after you change the folder path?

Navigating to the folder and clicking on OK, isn't enough, you also have to click APPLY (as shown in the screenshot), other wise it will change back by itself.
