DeadpoolHero27
Alright so I'm going to be as detailed as possible here. I have a bunch of mods in Skyrim. Yesterday I updated Vortex to download some more. When I finished it, told me I had to make a new staging folder, as the place it was (inside the skyrim mods folder in my D drive) was not acceptable for some reason. I made a staging folder in the base part of my d drive. Now, Skyrim loads in with NONE of my mods working, and vortex says that mods are redundant. When I ask for more detail, it lists literally ALL of the mods, and all the mod folders are empty in the staging folder. What has happened, and how can I fix it? I don't know WHY people insist on putting their mod staging folder INSIDE the game folder. That's a recipe for disaster. Did you PURGE your mods before moving the Staging folder? Considering that I don't know how modding works, I'm not sure what you expected. Also, no I don't think I did.
Guest deleted34304850
if you're new to modding then you need to educate yourself. as you have seen, if you do it wrong, it can have detrimental effects on your game.this forum contains so many links to resources to get you started. i would start there, look at videos - gopher has done quite a few which are golden - and try to add a single mod to your game after you have set your game up and your mod manager up correctly. search the forums, search you tube - look for gophergaming as a starting point. once you have set everything up correctly and you have added your first mod - the rest is easy. small steps my friend. Pickysaurus
Having to move you staging folder may have lost you mod files, try reinstalling the mods to your new staging folder and deploying
sopmac45
Yesterday I decided to move from Stable to Testing and I got the very last version installed and no problems at all with my mods, neither for Fallout4 nor for SkyrimSE .... and by the way, my Mod Staging folder is where is supposed to be in relation to where my game has been installed.
