HadToRegister
I opened my games library to see skyrim lowered to the "unspecified" section and was unable to and am still unable to interact with it (right click does nothing) so proceeded with the above . The dll file was from www.dll-files.com and youre right... Ive just googled SKSE to see where I got it from and it was Silverlock.org More investigation suggests corrupt game files and recommends deleting all game files from "common" and uninstalling and reinstalling skyrim? Or use Steam to Revalidate and restore the corrupt files. Which "one mod" are you planning on running? FNIS?I don't believe it requires SKSE

BigBizkit
This might be helpful to you (though you are not being specific about which version of Skyrim you are using): https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Modding_Skyrim_Special_Edition_with_Vortex The part about Sky UI and SKSE64 would be relevant to you. Installing SKSE does definitely not involve copying steam.dlls to your system folder.
Zanderat
Not to be a jerk. But why are you messing with steam.dll files? If you are running a legit copy, then that is horribly bad advice. If NEED to do this for other reasons, then I wouldn't expect too much support.
