TheOregle
Probably super obvious, but some of the mods i'm installing are saying i'm missing certain files required which causes my game to not be able to load up. The ones in question it's supposedly missing is the Broken Steel content, however I own the GOTY edition, which as far as I was aware, included all the DLC content? Again, probably a really silly question but i'm a complete novice when it comes to these things so any help would be much appreciated!
jaydawg55
Which game is the Broken Steel DLC for? The name sounds like something for a Fallout game, but I could be wrong. I am playing a heavily modded Fallout 4 GOTY through Vortex now. Based on my experience, the 'Missing Masters' error can apply to missing game ESM files (like your DLC), ESP files that act as master files for other mods (dependencies), or Mator Smash files that resolve mod conflicts. If you are not using Mator the Eternal's Smash or Merge utilities it has to be a missing ESM or ESP dependency. It could also be something as simple as making sure your DLC file is enabled or deployed. The mod files could be installed in your game's Data directory, but if not enabled or deployed the game engine will not see it there. Hence the error. showler
You're probably using the Microsoft Store/Xbox/Game Pass version of the game. Microsoft decided to do something idiotic with the game. Check for a sub-folder that includes the DLC files. If you have it, make them a mod in Vortex and let it install them in the traditional place.
