I am building at starlight drive in, and have cleared the area rather nicely. I spent a GREAT deal of time working on my settlement there, only to have some of the light fixtures from buildings I scrapped show back up. I can't interact with the fixtures, so, can't scrap them, I can console them disabled, but, the light remains.... Which really screws things up. It's ONLY the lights that are showing back up. Never had this problem in the past..... I moved scrap everything to the bottom of my load list. (is was up a couple..) loaded a save AT starlight, previous to the lights showing up, only to have them come back. Again. I tried doing some searching, but, haven't really found a fix for this, aside from opening the ck, and disabling the fixtures, and the lights.... Which I would prefer not to do..... I have played with this load list for quite a while, and never had this problem previously.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Scrap everything is right where it should be, Dead Last.

IS there a possibility, through a glitch or something, that the game loading without Scrap Everything enabled, while you were somewhere else, and you saved the game?

Although, I have to say, with Homemaker, when scrolling through stuff like Trees, and other things, I've seen parts of my settlement, resort to the old look, until I scroll past the item in the build menu in Homemaker.

It's always been enabled. (I don't play without it. :) )

I also get 'flashes' of stuff I have removed by scrapping it out, while in build mode. It's random, and somewhat disconcerting..... but, the stuff has never actually come back. Should I just fire up FO4Edit, make a plugin that removes those lights, and call it a day?

Hmmm, I don't know, it bugs me that things came back in the first place, they really shouldn't.

I always use Scrap everything as well, and the only time I see things 'come back", is like I said, when I'm scrolling through the build menu of "homemaker", with certain items, Trees and lamp posts that I scrapped will reappear, and I have no clue as to why, Scrolling through the Homemaker menu shouldn't in any way, interfere with Scrap everything, but it does.

Do you have the

bUseCombinedObjects=1 or bUseCombinedObjects=0 in your FalloutCustom.ini or Fallout4.ini?

(I have it in my FalloutCustom, but I think I have it set to 0, heh, just checked, I actually have it commented out, but it was set to 1)

Well, that definitely shouldn't be happening at any rate.

Also, there's another mod I use in conjunction with Scrap Everything, it's a fun mod, because when I take over a settlement, the first thing I do is this bot up, to automatically start scrapping stuff for me, while I go do other things

Settlement Salvage Bot

He makes a bunch of other bots as well, Gardening, Settlement Repair, Corpse Clean up etc.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I never experienced what you're experiencing unless I accidentally disabled, and loaded, and quit, re-enabled and loaded

I appreciate the effort in any event. Thank you. :D

What I find REALLY interesting though, is I also have "lights out", that turns off ALL the lights in starlight drivein, (Don't remember if it was just that one I picked, or ALL of them....) But, the lights that are showing back up are actually on. Going back to a save before they showed back up, after fixing my load order didn't make any difference either. (remembered then when I was poking at them in FO4edit, and noticed that lights were set to initially disabled. So the light coming back as well is truly confusing.

Game glitch? I REALLY don't want to have to start a new game.... I'm like level 40 something, and have invested a LOT of time into building up starlight........

I wonder if just collecting a bunch of editor IDs, and creating a batch file to disable them in bulk would do the trick......

Any clue what the format is for that? I know it's just a text file, I just need the correct format for the commands, and how to run it from the console. :D

OK, I remember there was one time I had some wonkiness with items, and the weird thing where if you scrap something, all of a sudden the view goes weird in certain spots, and it was because I merged everything using MatorSmash.
Probably merged things I wasn't supposed to.
I'm wondering if your FO4Merged patch is doing that?

Although, I supposed you haven't changed that in your entire playthrough

You should be able to find all the editor IDs in Scrap everything by opening it up in FO4Edit

Or, alternatively, if you start a new game, install a Clean Settlement mod that already has Starlight drive in scrapped and flattened

I found scrap everything / place anywhere was affected by F4SE

I get a message from my F4SE loader atm informing me that F4SE is being updated to work on the latest version of Fo4 and isnt available - Currently.

Maybe this could be affecting your settlement? Do you use F4SE?

Turns out there is an update for this. Found out this is affecting "Place everywhere" mod more so..

Heyas HeyYou. It kinda sounds to me like you're getting hit with a variant of the respawn bug.

From what I'm reading of your post, it seems like the mod for those lights is respawning them, when the settlement area reloads.

Or it might be, that the lights aren't modified correctly by the author, so as to be "completely" scrappable.

To me, it seems like the record of them is still there in the settlement, so when the settlement reloads, it loads them back in.

The fact that you can't interact with them afterwards, greatly reminds me of the respawn bug. Which is why I'm thinking of that.

Did this start happening after the last update?

I was thinkin that too...... And it occurred to me that perhaps the lights out mod was giving me the issues..... At least it will make finding all the form ID's for the lights easy. :D

Well, it just started happening a couple days ago...... I have no idea if the update had anything to do with it or not. Never had any problem with FOSE, or Scrap everything before..... I just don't know.

Think I will just collect myself a list, and disable them.

Poking around a bit, it seems I can do something like this:

prid (lite id) disable

markfordelet

prid (another lite id) disable

markfordelete

Etc. Is that correct?

Scrap Everything has not updated in the past few days, and is not an F4SE mod (yet)*.

Those commands should let you delete the lights, yes. I have a plan to make it so Scrap Everything scraps the placed Light records that correspond to "light sources" at some point, but that requires me to link each pair of records individually, so will not be done any time soon.

*There are plans for toggleable scraplists with an MCM menu, but that will require me to learn papyrus so I can fix the bits that aren't working. That said, even when it gets implemented it should just require MCM to be updated, as there will be no .dlls required. The only F4SE dependencies will be the MCM menu (which won't need to be changed), and some additional papyrus functions F4SE adds (which also won't require Scrap Everything to update).
