M4rlK4rx
Each time I launch Vortex the app says it is unable to log me in to Nexus due to firewall settings, but the app is allowed through the firewall on both public and private networks. It also can't be used to download mods, when I first installed I was logged in but it failed to connect due to firewall. I thought the issue might be that it was installed on a secondary drive, but uninstalling completely and reinstalling on my main hard drive did not fix the issue. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times on the secondary drive. Nothing has fixed the issue, and I haven't had the problem with any other programs. I've blocked and unblocked it in firewall settings as well. This is the latest version of Vortex (1-1-1-5-1575885790), running on 64 bit Windows 10 Home. Well, if it keeps insisting it's your firewall settings, then I'm guessing that you have some firewall setting that needs to be changed. What EXACTLY is the Error Message? The message just says "Network connect was not permitted, please check your firewall settings". Even with the windows firewall turned off completely it still gives the same message. gayansamaa
I also got this firewall error. I had previously logged into Vortex using the Nexus account. I started the download for a KOTOR file but it failed in Vortex with the error: Network connect was not permitted, please check your firewall settings. I closed Vortex and reopened it again. Then started the download again from Nexus website. This time the download started correctly and continued. I did not need to turn off or adjust any firewall settings. Hope this helps  Edited June 20, 2020 by gayansamaa

My error message details says Code: ECONNREFUSED Address: 77.72.5.199 Port 443 Try turning off your firewall and antivirus to see if you can connect. Also, you should start a new thread instead of necroing a year old thread, because the current version of Vortex is much different than the version a year ago. mewarmonger
Yeah, I turned off my firewall, and it works, but I don't like turning it off. I don't understand why my firewall suddenly decided Nexus Mods web site was suddenly dangerous, after I've been using it for years. I tried going to add apps and stuff, I can't find Vortex or their website anywhere on the list of apps and websites. I can't even find Firefox on there. If you're using the WIndows firewall app, then try looking in OUTGOING and INCOMING sections

showler
That likely means something is blocking you from GitHub. Try a free VPN and see if that corrects it.
