How do I make my computer completely free of the parasite that is Vortex?

I did a quick uninstall/ reinstall of new vegas because I wanted to test if it fixed a problem. The problem was fixed by something else I tried after, but now New Vegas is permanently broken. I have reinstalled New Vegas and Vortex Multiple times, I deleted any files and folders left behind by either for a completely clean install, I resorted and disabled any mods that could possibly be a problem, and I still have nothing. I kept recieving errors about my masters missing and it turned out that for some reason vortex was disabling all vanilla ESMs and plugins but enabling modded ones. After I fixed that and I still got crashes before or on the title screen or when loading a game, I tried disabling all mods and was able to get it to a couple times for a minute maybe before crashing as soon as I brought up my pip boy. So this is when I decided to completely nuke all extrenous files and folders related to new vegas or vortex. Still crashing on startup. Launching from steam, from Vortex, with FNV4GB as administrator, same result.

So I don't even want to fix this at this point. I'll go back to using nexus mod manager with no website support. I just want to make my computer run like I never installed Vortex in the first place because I've spent the last 4 hours trying to fix this. I can't even play regular NV without mods now.

Unfortunately, none of what you posted makes any sense?

For one, you start with the fact that you did a "Quick Uninstall/Reinstall" of Fallout New Vegas, but never mentioned WHY you did that, except for trying to "fix a problem", (While never mentioning what the problem is/was?) which was later mentioned that the "problem was "fixed" by "something you tried after", but now Fallout: New Vegas is "permanently Broken."

Also, you mentioned you have uninstalled/reinstalled both FONV and Vortex "Multiple times", without mentioning whether you uninstalled/removed any mods that you already had installed.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like you've created a real mess on your computer, by the actions you have taken with all of the installing/uninstalling mods, and installing/uninstalling programs/games, etc...

We're definitely going to need a better, and more concise and detailed description of the steps you've gone through at this point.

HTR is right. We need more details before being able to address OP's problem. As it stands now, OP is long on describing his problem but short on details needed to solve his problem.

Two other points that may be of help to OP.

1. To remove Vortex completely from your computer, you need to uninstall Vortex, delete AppData\Roaming\Vortex, and delete Vortex generated game folders in AppData\Local.

2. Althoug NMM is no longer supported by NexusMods, it is supported at the commuinity site on GitHub.

Intial problem was I had no keyboard or mouse input once a game loaded. This turned out to just be that I had left my controller plugged in from t he last game I was playing. All I had to do was unplug that. I didn't think that was relevant

Yes, before I discovered the problem was disabled masters, I tried a clean install of New Vegas again and disabled all plugins and mods via Vortex and when that didn't work I tried removing the extraenous mod files manually.

I thought the problem was related to mod paths with Vortex trying access resources from two different drives ( For some reason the mod path was set to a different drive than where I had the game installed) but once I was able to get Vortex to look for files in the right places, It ended up not solving anything.

I'm not some idiot who doesn't understand directories or errors from redundant files. I'm not a computer genius by any means but I've been using mods since long before there were programs devoted to installing and sorting them. I am just really, really frustrated and I don't understand why after uninstalling vortex, deleting roaming files. and starting a clean, vanilla installation of new vegas from steam the game is still compromised

Nuff said

Why? tons of mods on the nexus still require manual installations. As long the directories are restored to the status they were before the mod was installed there shouldn't be any conflicts or errors.
