Locals ran crazily at the expeditionary force as LyonsPriders, and Robobots, blasted them down. Except that it was soon realised that these supposed locals were fake as when they were struck they sprayed pink fluid and exposed compact white material that smelt richly sweet.

The locals, who had first tried to stop the expedition from leaving, had been dark minded adults manipulated by some malignant psychic presence. They now lay scattered, mostly dead-dying, across the area but those had been shot down by the fake humans that had soon appeared after they had attacked. The expeditionaries had used stun devices to knock down a few real, but malignant, humans.

The fighting went on even as, in OPVC Town, combat went on between Steelorditers and those in the settlement that were driven into attacking them with the Steelorditers using stun devices such as stunshock grenades. They did so frantically, crying out about how they would not go into the future or go into status; they were also ranting-raving about making the SteelOrderhood given them all of their resources. The attackers were insane. The other townies fought the mad ones with stun devices also as taken from security armouries and offices.

It was no real surprise that the attacking humans were under dark psychic influence but it was one that somebody had drugged them with a dangerous narcotic called psycho. It had a side effect of making a heavy dosed person more vulnerable to evil psychic influences especially if that one was dark minded in the first place. They had not been themselves as they attacked and then they were all stunned down before being taken to an isolated, temporary, infirmary.

There was 'something' lurking in the deeper levels of the CitadelDC alias OldPentagon but it was not the same force as that which was beneath the GrandPlug in the NewPentagon alias the BelowPentagon. That was, it seemed, a zerotech caused intrusion, a fertile state of undeath, but was that all there was down there?

Now convinced that their minds would be safer in status, which was very true, the OPVC Townfolk went into statuscapsules along with animals and plants. Another PaleOneMan arose and became PaleOneBrother who would guard, and care for, those in status along with the settlement itself.

PaleOneDad was also joined by PaleOneMum who were taking care of both GGO and OldPentagonis along with the deep sleeping secondary grandchildren of clones. Often one meditated while the other was active but they did not appear to require sleep. PaleOneBrother was soon joined by PaleOneSister and they also needed no sleep while taking turns meditating or being active.

Knight Captain Charles Charlton observed the dead drug dealers through his helmet visors. He was a Steeltrooper in theory; in practice he often ended up assisting investigations by the SteelSheriffs. There were a few Steelorditers now five years in the past though they were prepared to soon go back to five years in the future.

Somebody had butchered the criminals in a fashion brutal even by Wastelander standards let alone those of Domelanders. The evidence, in the bare spare utility chamber, indicated that the attacker had not been human or had been ones using bizarre methods of murder.

He spoke to the other three in the chamber. "They were killed savagely, but quickly, and then partly eaten. Nothing was taken except for the drugs. I suggest that some kind of radbeast may have been at work here."

PaleOneSister spoke from where she stood in her curious robetunic. "No, this creature was no radbeast but one template designed and biovat grown. It was a kind of synth related to the syndroids (synth androids) as created by the TriInstitute as based in NewBritain but with some important differences. The identity, of the criminals, is just as big a mystery for they were Domelanders come into the OldPentagon very recently from the WashingtonDC area."

Charles frowned. "I much prefer to deal with typical criminal cases than these weirder ones. Question is how they got into the supposedly heavily secured OldPentagon and why did they bother coming here at all?"

PaleOneSister indicated the whole chamber. "Loot!"

The room was partly heaped with what Domelanders would have considered to be valuable loot easily disposed of as greatly sought after tradegoods. From solidstate circuitry blocks to good condition books, disks, soap, toilet paper, hand-torches, rechargeable batteries and much else, it would have helped the fools make a fortune in Domelands currencies.

Where had the drugs come from? If from the DomelandsDC, why had they been brought there?

The third one there was Banjosas, a non sexual neuter version of Banjosam and Banjosal. He spoke quietly. "There was a TARDIS materialised here some three days ago. It was not the DocTARDIS or any other known to oneself (as the EternalSeeker). Nor was it one of the 169 official TARDISes of the Timelords."

Romana stepped into the chamber. "We call him MasterTime and he has his MasterTARDIS. He is a criminally insane supergenius though far less brilliant than DocWho, splintered or not. If he is involved with what is happening then the situation is going to become far more complicated. It would be like him, or his twisted followers, to create monsters such as the one that killed the drug dealers; they may have cheated him, somehow, and paid a heavy price for doing so."

It was clear that none there were pleased at the presence of such a dark karmic Timelord and for good reason.

The BlackgloGodling was of darkness deeper than normal darkness and that was far more than the absence of light being the 'swallower of light'. It swirled, enraged, being drawn into the OldPentagon and trapped there, both by its own unquestioned appetites.

Yet it was not the only troubling force there as it struck out, in defensive aggression, against the InvertingOne trying to come up through the GrandPlug beneath it, that is from BelowPentagon.

There was there the annoying MasterTime in his just as trapped MasterTARDIS. His shallow cunning, condescension, had been quickly rebuffed by the BlackgloGod as again it sensed the presence of a powerful, young, source of Celestilight that it could not begin to absorb.

That was all taking place in the secret, dimensionally reflective, 'Other OldPentagon' that was linked to other, sometimes surprising, forms of existence.

The population, from people to plants, of OPVC Town ended up going forward, in time, as it was decided that being in status might not be enough safety for them. They would end up joining the people of CitadelTown. The last of those, who had appeared with a flash of pure light, had then gone into the future except for a very few recruited by the SteelOrderhood.

For a short time PaleOneSister, and PaleOneBrother, joined PaleOneMum and PaleOneDad who were with GGO at the time. They went into a kind of joint meditation type meeting together even as one of them held a sleeping GGO by the hand. Important decisions were being made when it came to the PaleOneFamily and its activities on that world.

In the void sphere had opened deep in the depths of a twisted other OldPentagon that was the Shadow OldPentagon that the BlackgloGodling was trapped in but not in the same area. It continued to attempt to draw to itself dark entities to consume.

A hollow voice, barely heard by those with strong enough psychic abilities and not always understood by them, 'echoed' through the Shadow OldPentagon. "What did we do? What evil did I help to achieve? So many lost souls, billions of them, crying out in the spiritual darkness. Please help us all. Please..."

Sarah, and her five sextuplet sisters, each led a LyonsPride squad13+ through the OPVC being psychically linked but physically separate. Only Sarah had only Pridetroopers as the others took on what ever Prideorditors, and other Steelorditors, that could be spared.

Sarai's squad found a 'blank' space in OldPentagonis' 3Dmap. It was a cube shaped area with no obvious access points, not even vents. The attempts, to discover what it meant let alone to get in, failed miserably but it was marked down. In theory that was one, of three, blank spaces discovered.

Saray's squad carefully approached a safevault door, a heavily armoured powerdoor that was not where the 3Dmap had showed it was. Even more carefully, they opened it and a shower of shrapnel greeted them as driven forth by a heavy concussive blast of air. The mixed squad, of Steelorditors, soon found that the supposed safevault had been fake and were soon moving on.

It was Saral, and her people, who found an actual safevault door but totally failed to open it.

Saran's squad also found a true safevault door but in a different location than the one that Saral's found one. Yet it seemed to be facing inwards to what could be the same inner area as the other door faced towards; if so it was a very large area.

Sarau's squad found a large chamber full of very interesting items of great potentiality as important discoveries.

It was Sarah who ran into a very hard surprise that was even to a hardened veteran, as she was, a shock.

Shyla, and her Priderangers, had spent time patrolling one large area of the OPVC. Apart from finding some good troves of useful resources, and finding out that the 3Dmap was accurate when it came to that sector, they had a uneventful time of it. Boredom was their greatest threat!

Then they walked into a large, strange, chamber and when they came back to full awareness they were all in WashingtonDF being surrounded by Stellar and the rest of the expeditionaries. The expedition was pleased to see them for they were having difficulty and had done since leaving the enclave behind. That was partly because all of the enclave people had come with them, bringing other lifeforms and many goods with them.

The dogs, Steelorditor or other, were highly agitated as were the hybrid animans. Five big funtrucks, five smaller funvans and ten six wheeled funcars, were armoured-armed as they were parked in a large, empty, carpark area. They were in funclipbrick land made of off different sizes of the brightly, multicoloured, funclipbricks. Even the local NPCs were made up of them though, in their case, they were of a small, flexible, kind. There were no local focused IPCs there being expressions of people in a special kind of capsules.

Banjosal, who had summoned up the colourful patterned funvehicles with the bubble tires, played her banjo that made calming, focusing, beautiful music to flow amongst the group.

Then she spoke quietly but everybody heard her easily. "Some of GGO's grandchildren are close but if they are the secondary, or primary, ones I can not quite work out. There is too much danger, in that direction, to take the enclave people so we must find you people a safe haven. Then we others, including the Robobots, can move forward to finally complete our mission."

Which was when all the enclave IPCs vanished instantly away and the NPCs turned into ridiculous looking, but dangerous, toy battlerobots. They stomped along as crude, pressed steel, ones of olden days but they fired big machineguns, fired off rockets, and beamed laser beams.

Seconds later they were smouldering wreckage, having been blasted down, and then the remains vanished away with a soft shimmering. NPCs had not done this before, in WashingtonDF, or at least not to the knowledge of the expeditionaries. What did it mean?

Purity light flashed through WashingtonDF and beyond to sweep through the rest of the Toylands. With out knowing it the expeditionary force had helped to cause dark, exotic, forces to flee away from what was a realm becoming more solidly real with every passing second. They had also helped to instigate the flash that needed certain conditions to take place. Or so it was that the EternalSeeker revealed with some apparent reluctance.

In the subrealm, of the funclipbricks, they found the sleepy clone grandchildren, and great grandchildren, of GGO being both primary and secondary. SantaClaus had brought them to that place for his enclosed sleigh was BITO in a 'big way'. They had been rescued by the jolly powerful figure, before that, and spent time with SantaMa in the sleigh drinking hot chocolate drink and eating Christmas pudding where time ran faster inside than out, being TFITO (time faster inside than out).

Protecting the progeny, of GGO, were another 13 Robotroopers along with 13 Robocarers being Robobots designed to look after the grandies in various ways.

WashingtonDF was calm but it would take time, and energy, for it to return fully to the positive environment that it had once been. There were still lesser threats there to be dealt with, most being left behind by the departing evil in a fashion most likely not accidental.

When the 'dark entity' had fled, it had taken much with it in the way of stolen resources. NPCs now had to vanish away soon after dying or being destroyed; this was because they were now a greater burden on VirtualRealityQueen's reduced capacity. VirtualRealityQueen had been managing that, and many other realms, but the VirtualRealityInvader had caused her much trouble. It had taken advantage of OldPentagonis' abrupt, and fairly clumsy, locking down of some of the realms and the trapping of GGO's progeny.

OldPentagonis was freed of the deep, hard, security programming that had snapped on in response to three dangerous intrusions into the OldPentagon generally and the OPVC in particular. Had it been the purity light that had freed it? Banjosal was not sure.

The biggest surprise was that multiple entities, and much else, in the OldPentagon had 'leapt forward in time' to find themselves in the time after the SteelOrderhood had arrived from California. This included GGO along with his progeny, all of the Steelorditors, DocWho's people, but not the PaleOneFamily along with others.

A powerful force clearly did not want them in the OldPentagon for those intervening years and even the Timelords found they could not time travel to the period before the SteelOrderhood had arrived.

Yet the challenges, for the new arising alliance, were far from over and that included those of the OldPentagon, alias the CitadelDC, and the OPVC.

DocWho, splintered as three, sat in full lotus position facing outwards from each other, naked but in a thick sparkling mist that made matters rather modest. Time had been disrupted by recent, five year span, events including the abrupt leap forward by many. The damage was being quickly healed by nature doing its rebalancing of the universal but also by celestial presences even far beyond the Celestrials in their evolutionary, ascended, enlightened level. As many would say it was of the territories, and influences, of the true goddess and gods.

Romana traveled to California in her DemiTARDIS, materialising in the part of the massive bunker complexes, of the LostHills that were in the LostVales, that were the area of the SteelOrderhood that remained on the West Coast of the old US Mainland. She took with her not those she had first been planning to but a large contingent of SteelOrderhood people because of the desperate emergency signals that had reached the CitadelDC; the California SteelOrderhood were in trouble in their isolated networks of the LostHills as cut off from those of the SteelBrotherhood of the LostHills.

Many were still in WashingtonDF of the Toylands that were now quasireality in nature being but one step away from full reality. They traveled steadily through the increasingly improved funclipbrick subrealm in the funvehicles. All the IPCs had vanished away, according to Banjosal, and did not seem in any hurry to return while the NPCs were not only reduced in numbers, in some places there were none. GGO's progeny were being fussed over, and well cared for, in more than one machine.

A few could hear, to different degrees, the chillingly hollow voice. "What did we do? What evil did I help to achieve? So many lost souls, billions of them, crying out in the spiritual darkness. Please help us all. Please..."

So it was clear, at least to them, that there was much left to do and a few important questions had yet to be given any real, solid, answers.
