Sarah walked amongst the ugly, solid steel, humanoids melded into their older style power armour. They had not been of the SteelBrotherhood, as the datafiles revealed in the isolated desktop computer, but before being locked down into force field clad display cases. Clearly it had happened before Doomsday being of an Svirus related experiment. The entities were barbed, spiked, with energy weapons integrated into them along with bladed, and other, melee weapons.

Vargas, her second in command, scowled through his visor. "I have a very bad feeling about these creatures."

Sarah shook her head. "I sense that they are dangerous but they were deceived, as military political prisoners, into undertaking the test to redeem themselves by proving their 'patriotic zeal'. Their only real crime was they backed the losing side in the brief US Military Civil War that took place about a year before Doomsday when two large military factions fought over controlling high command. Many now believe that the wrong side won and that helped lead to Doomsday but others consider that to be an overly simplistic view of complicated historical events; I choose to go with the latter."

Vargas nodded. "That was not in the rather scant information of the datafiles so your 'abilities' are growing stronger."

Sarah nodded. "Yes, as a psyker but also as a more complicated-subtle spiriter. These are true Steelshifters trapped away from human shapeforms but able to change their outer features as a kind of shapeshifter."

The leap forward, in time, had caused at least some disorientation in those that had been 'shifted' but the great majority were over it and the minority would soon be except for a tiny minority who had been oddly effected by it.

That was the first chamber of 27 Steelshifters but then came a larger chamber of 15 Steelshifters but also 55 warped, unchangeable, Steeldistorts. Sarah scowled. "None of these can be trusted for they have given over to malice, to revenge and brutal greed. We can trust to freeing the first group but none of these."

Which was when a TARDIS materialised that looked like a clean, blue, wooden early 20th Century British police telephone box. Out of it stepped a very handsome man, with gleaming rows of white teeth, in a stylish black Victorian business suit. He smiled at the Prideorditors charmingly. "I am the one and only Doctor, sometimes known as Doctor Who or even DocWho."

Sarah raised her gun in a threatening manner. "You are not one of the splintered aspects of DocWho and he may be eccentric but not prideful, deceptive or arrogant as I mindsense you are. Are you MasterTime?"

The figure shimmered and became an ugly old man figure, hunch backed, and in a black hoodrobe. He scowled. "That loser, no! I am the TimePerfectus, the most supreme of all Timelords being the ultimate genius of time manipulation."

Sarah snorted in irritation. "You are certainly not the Timelord of excessive humility."

With another shimmer the figure became again of his first appearance. "You got me! I am MasterTime after all."

Clearly Sarah was not convinced. The figure shrugged and a kind of dark flash of 'antilight' shot out from him. When the Pridetroopers, and others with them, came aware again the chamber was empty; that is empty of Steelshifters and Steeldistorts. A quick check showed that the first chamber still had its Steelshifters that, for some unknown reason, the deceptive one had chosen not to take with him if he was a 'him' or even a Timelord.

In another big chamber they found 23 Steeldistorts that Sarah psykersensed that the SteelOrderhood could work with, in a careful manner, as they could the Steelshifters in the first found chamber. Yet a clearly dangerous entity had escaped with the others and would evidently cause trouble with them.

As she looked around that big, empty, chamber she noticed something odd.

Sarah was the first to enter a so called 'blank space' that turned out to be a transdimensional between zone linking the OldPentagon, alias CitadelDC, and the Shadow OldPentagon but also other locations, even dimensional realms. As soon as she could, Sarah unlocked all the other ways into the BrtweenPentagon. Her quintuplet sisters, and their forces, were soon joining her there.

It was MBITO (much bigger inside than out) but time there passed at a standard pace. While much of it was utilitarian, practical, and of standard USFG design, there were areas less so being often filled with an amazing range of items that seemed to have been dumped there in a barely organised manner if that.

They all got together in the stable area as they came to realise there were less stable, often changing, sealed of zones.

The LyonsQuintuplets were in a meeting when out of nowhere stepped the PaleOneEnvoy, the PaleOneSage and the PaleOneAide. As offshoots, of the PaleOneFamily, they were each the nature of the purpose as stated by his, or her, name. The PaleOneEnvoy, and PaleOneAide, used female pronouns but the PaleOneSage used male ones. Their outer body shapes came across as two women and a man.

Then stepped in Banjosar, a new addition to the Banjo13 being before than Banjosam, Banjosal and Banjosas. Except that it was really an addition to the BanjoOnes there for the others were busy, together, in another timeplace. Banjosar was secondary 2/12 at the time but the BanjoOnes often switched places in the ranks of one primary, three secondary and nine foundational. The other three were foundationals.

Banjosar was given a place at the big round table where the PaleOneOnes had also found places.

Last of all arrived Rosana, the Timelord twin sister of Romana, who had been at work deep in the inner core of the DocTARDIS where she, and others, were repairing-reconstructing the badly damaged, unofficial, DocTARDIS. It had been official but the TimeElders had come to believe it was totally destroyed so had taken it 'off the books' while replacing it with a new official one. It was a supposedly deep secret that there was an unofficial, fast replacement stockpile, of TARDISes but a few factions knew the truth.

Thus began a long, tiring, productive meeting broken up by necessary breaks to meet the needs of the participants. Surprise others were to join the group while some would leave when no longer needed there.

The safevault door hummed opened as it was triggered by a remote switch found in the BetweenPentagon. The second discovery was that outer powerdoors led to airlock style chambers that in turn led into a section of the BetweenPentagon.

All but Sarah, the prime one of the quins, left the meeting and returned to getting into the Safevault-Subsafevault Network-System (SSNS) , as it turned out to be officially named. The name did not give any warning of the amazing finds to be discovered there.

Sarai's squad stood before a captured zetan scaucerboat, the true name of their smaller general purpose saucers but not their more specialised ones. Capturing it had been easy for it had 'crash landed very softly' with its crew being already dead of an undiscovered cause. It was one of five saucerboats that had come down, in the same way, at the same timeplace so one was stored away in the OldPentagon only to be transferred to the SSNS over a decade later. In the same chamber were statuscapsules with 13 zetan corpses along with display stored weapons, tools, other tech and supplies. There were 13 hover dronebots, that had been compression storage, that were modular to be changed to serve different purposes.

From a computer terminal, in the chamber, came basic information about the items including unanswered questions such as how the zetans had died, what they had been doing and why they had come down when-where they had in so many undamaged vehicles.

Saray's squad investigated the results of a rejuvenation experiment that had super fast aged the POWs that had been the unwilling subjects. The aged, before their time, NuSoviet soldiers were in statuscapsules being a mix of Chinese, Russian and other NuSoviet nationalities. It had been a war crime, that had been carried out; two sides, of WW4, had carried out such atrocities but not the mysterious third.

Saran's squad examined advanced prototypes of power armour, remoterobots, robots, mecha, other warmachines, weapons, tools and other devices that had often ended up being used for general military, civil or other purposes more specialised.

Sarau's squad was the one who found the heavily secured Greyyari Intrudership, heavily damaged and lightly radioactive from being struck with an advanced 'clean' nuke missile of the surface to orbit type (SOM). It had been self repairing before being put into a massive status container to stop it from doing so, which had worked. While heavily power armoured humans, and robots, had got into the ship they had not penetrated beyond the outer layer where heavy fighting had taken a big toll of lives on both sides. Greybari elite fighters were there to resist but the attackers had been elite Power Berets. The interior had remained impervious to USFG attempts to get further and a few secretly considered that to be a blessing.

All four squads found chambers dedicated to tech, to projects, to military plans and more related to WW4 but also to other matters that the USFG was trying very hard to keep secret; this included corruption, mistakes and war atrocities. The four staid mindwise linked between each other and Sarah.

Romana went into slowmo so that everything around her seemed to be moving in slow motion in relationship to herself. Thus she fired her experimental weapon at the first crazed, metallic, distorted figures to come through the big storeroom doorway. Somebody had released Svirus into the air ventilation network-systems of half of the LostHills SteelOrderhood bunker complexes before they could seal themselves off. The altered Svirus proved to be more virulent than the original strand so it struck down most humans but no few animans or any of the very few other kinds of human hybrids.

The source, of the attack, was soon proven to be an extremely orthodox, hardliner, faction of the SteelBrotherhood still enraged over the supposed treachery of those who formed the SteelOrderhood. The puzzle was that they did not have the kind of know how, and specialist resources, to create such a sophisticated biotech product.

Romana observed Svirus victims hitting the floor, writhing and then becoming still before being dragged off to be treated. So far reversion-adaptation treatments had been working at least enough to turn monsters into just patients. Steelbrothers, sent from the SteelBrotherhood area of the LostHills, were busy dealing with Svirus victims else where as were those Steelorditers who had proven Svirus immune or had been in areas not struck by the Svirus. The reason that not all of the SteelOrderhood areas had been struck was still unknown to those fighting for the truth.

Romana moved forwards, firing the exotic device as she went on. The others were using heavy stun devices with enough effect to make the Timelord's task easier as her targets were slowed down. The victims had a curious steel alloy mingled with flesh-bone so that they became a kind of metallic human hybrid but the process had failed, sending victims into agony induced aggression. They had to be rescued from dying but not all would become just light scale hybrids.

Romana had found the TimeRani's signature with the Svirus but it differed from that of the TimeRani now in WashingtonDC working with the DocWho group that she belonged to. Had the TimeRani splintered just as the Doctor had? If one was the 'nicer' version just what was the other one like?

She feared that rescue efforts might take too long, that too many victims would die horribly.

The purity white flash went through everybody and everything but the results would vary, being in some cases very interesting or even extremely exotic. The flash also took in the OldPentagon alias CitadelDC including the ShadowPentagon and BetweenPentagon. The DemiTARDIS was so changed it could no longer go by that name.

In the newly created HavenTARDIS, made from more than the DemiTARDIS, floated a white glowing orb of potent energies and quasienergies. Inside was a glowing white baby figure all curled up comfortably as it slept with a smaller, rainbow glowing, baby in her arms. There were other baby figures all curled up tight against the white glowing one, they being smaller even than the rainbow on and each of a single rainbow colour. There were also white bubbles, sparks and small spheres that moved endlessly around the big sphere or staid still at the edges of it.

The voidsphere floated some distance from the glowing white sphere, protecting it and its contents by being there to draw away any evil intrusion into itself or any other meaning harm. Other energy-quasienergy spheres, bubbles, flashes, shapeforms of entities and other 'things' were in that chamber of contradictory sensations of vastness and cosines.

There were tall, robed, softly white glowing angular figures; each held a staff as long as their height. One was 13 metres tall, three were 12 metres tall, nine were nine metres tall, 27 were six metres tall and 81 were three metres tall.

They patrolled the chamber except for the tallest one who deep meditated along sitting cross legged on air and the three second tallest who guarded that one. At times the PrimeGuardian meditation-slept.

Each, of the nine patrol-sentry groups, consisted of one 9m, three 6m and nine 3m guardians; the nine groups were active in a seminomadic fashion as they sometimes stopped at guard posts.

At any one time three groups were meditation sleeping as they sat cross legged on air and the same was true of one of the 12m tall guardians guarding the 13m one.

The former Silence, as transformed by the purity light, loved to talk to each other and anybody else who was there; they had much to catch up in the way of commentaries, gossip and other such apparently important conversation. The noise of the Chatty was a consistent background one as they hung from a wildly decorated ceiling in carefully made upside down clothes of much cheery bright colouration.

Romana visited them and serenely smiled at the upside downers as they struck at her with an blast of statements, questions and vague chatter. The Timelord was totally amazed by the change but she just kept on being 'nice'. Now and then the Chatty gave up useful information and there were humans, and robots, quietly recording everything said, which made the chatterers happy.

There were the former greyliens, and zetans, now being brightliens and netazs. They were happily running a large community with changed others including humans, animans and androids. A big lifeclaw, formerly a deathclaw, peacefully pulled a wagon full of children.

Steelorditers mingled with the community and a handful were even brave enough to visit the Chatty.

Those, of the former DemiTARDIS, had been transferred to the DocTARDIS or remained in the HavenTARDIS, depending upon their wishes. As Romana went amongst some who had staid, she quietly gave her approval of such actions as related to pledges that those people had previously made.

Even as the Timelord toured the community, of the great big transdimensional Havenzone where Haventown was found, she picked up on a very quiet, powerful, background presence quietly observing her. Even as she shopped at the Haventown Markets, Romana bought some colourful toys and other items, sensing the approval of the quiet psychic observer.

The last, of the Steelorditors, in the LostHills had joined the SteelBrotherhood there, had gone to the CitadelDC or had joined the Havenzone population. Most had gone to WashingtonDC, a fair few were now in the Havenzone and only a very small minority were now Steelbrothers.

Information had come with the flash of light but not all questions were answered and new questions had arisen. Yes, TimeRani had splintered but into more than two identities now becoming permanently unique and separate. ColdRani had carried out the cruel experiment on half the LostHills SteelOrderhood bunkers and had left alone the others as a 'control factor' in her experiment allowing for comparisons to be made. She had not been alone in her workings for there were hints at other twisted, hard minded, supergeniuses that had cooperated with her, not all being organic. A few titles, and names, came forth as 'SageProfessors' being the ColdRani, Frankenstein, Moreau, Griffen, Jekyll, Cavor, Calvin, Nemo, Bell and Celine along with others but who-what were they really?

The odd doubt came to her and for a very short moment stretched that feeling to encompass all of...

Romana went on shopping as she realised that many folks there were long lived citizens, saved from Doomsday, or their descents and that a few had been radghoulkind. She was really starting to appreciate the compassion involved in the rescue of so many lifeforms but also a type of practical sense of survival that went with it.

The relative minority, of Steelorditors that became Steelbrothers, numbered over three and a half million while the others, going to the Havenzone or to the CitadelDC, numbered over 25.4 million. The SteelBrotherhood gained the still heavily equipped-supplied bunker complexes network as abandoned by the California SteelOrderhood. The purity light had gone through the Steelbrothers and so changes took place. The SteelBrotherhood became the SteelFollowhood being Steelbrothers, Steelsisters and more.

The SteelFollowhood reached out to the New West Coast Alliance, the NWCA, as headed by the NCR, the New California Republic, to form a diplomatic, trade and mutual aide treaty. Having trouble with savage tribals, and other threats, the NCR agreed and soon the rest of the NWCA was following their lead.

The SteelFollowhood would assist the NWCA in improving its technologies but would keep its prize tech to itself; this meant upgrades with medical, military, civil transportation and more along with the addition of basic power armour, mecha, helicopters and other tech.

Why? Because the SteelFollowhood, as the SteelBrotherhood had been before it, was only too aware of growing threats that the NWCA was not yet concerned enough about; an alliance was necessary and the SteelFollowhood considered joining the NWCA.

Caesar's Empire was expanding as it invaded new territories, as it selectively carried out war atrocities to quell even the toughest locals. What had recently made matters worse was that a third faction had starting providing Caesar Primeatus, of the chimpmans, with altered-adapted equipment-supplies of World War Two kind.

There were other threats, also, yet to be more clearly defined or even properly named.

The DocTARDIS materialised in the HavenTARDIS' Havenzone. DocManWho stepped out onto a grassy plateau and felt at once better for doing so. When the other two, splintered, versions of DocWho joined him there they were also pleased by the result.

DocManWho spoke. "The dilemma of the Timelords began on Doomsday when the TimeMatrix was influenced to change by a purity light flash. That you know, of course, as you know it was linked to our splintered from one to being three that are almost one. We were drawn here over 200 local years after Doomsday for a very important reason if not more than one. I suspect it is to do with the origin of Timelord time abilities, including regenerating, the piloting of TARDISes and such as going slowmo in combat."

DocFemWho responded. "Rassilon, AlphaOmega, the TimeOriginator, the Cycletron Timeladies, the TimeMatrix Engineers, the TimeChampions and other mysterious figures are linked to the rise of we Timelords and our special abilities. That was an incredibly long time ago. Currently available TARDISes, even the most powerful of them, can not seem to reach back to solve those mysteries or, if they do, they do not return."

DocWhatWho joined the conversation. "Three special long time range TARDISes were designed and constructed in deep secret by the TimeShadowers, the ones who do much that is deeply clandestine for the Timelords. They were launched to the Dawn Age of the Timelords. None returned." Then he pointed. "That is why were we were just brought here, that is those seemingly innocent buildings."

As Timelords, with enhanced abilities, DocWho knew that the eight structures were TARDISes using their own concealment technologies. Three, to one side, were the lost long time distant travelers that had vanished away never to return. People could be seen, around the structures, except for those three. They looked like cottages but ones with heavy wooden shutters over the windows and thick, heavily locked, doors. Apart from that they looked to be surprisingly friendly in appearance.

DocFemWho frowned. "The other five are... or at least another three are from the Timewar between the TimeCrusaders, TimeMasters and the TimeMarshals."

The TimeCrusaders had wanted the Timelords to rule the universe with hard benevolence; the TimeMasters had just wanted to suppress and exploit it; the TimeMarshals were created, by the TimeGuardians, and then sent out to take on both rogue factions. What happened became so chaotic, and destructive, that higher forces intervened that were way beyond the level of just one universe. The Timewar was swept back, out of existence, except for some minor discrepancies that did not matter when it came to the greater story. The fixing up, of loose ends, seemed to be continuing or at least a relatively tiny minority considered it to be; one of those were the Timelords.

The three, almost as one, teleported the short distance to the buildings and arrived there exactly five seconds after they dematerialised. They found themselves surrounded by Timelords working on gardens, being a mixture of different types, with mainly basic tech. They wore practical Timelord type utilitysuits but there were colours of all three warring factions of the Timewar along with to sets unknown to DocWho.

It was soon to turn out that they were officially TimeCarers who had attempted subtle, peaceful, intervention on troubled universal worlds along with carrying out good deeds. Then there were the TimeSeekers who hunted for the truth behind mysteries including those ones behind the emergence of the Timelords.

The elegant TimeSeeker woman spoke in HiGallifreyan. "We TimeSeekers, the TimeCarers and other small, low level, rogue factions were never enough to gain much attention from most Timelords. The TimeGuardians had higher priorities to deal with such as the most dangerous of mortal species and other threats not so mortal. That is the daleks, the cybermen, the autons, the TimeAngels, the Silence, the EmpireLords and many others which was even before the TimeCrusaders and TimeMasters came from alternate universes to instigate the Timewar in this one when they began recruiting local Timelords and other peoples."

DocManWho smiled diplomatically. "How did you all end up here?"

The woman sighed and spoke with obvious reluctance. "We were drawn, by unknown forces, to this world when its Doomsday took place. We were 'destroyed' somehow but we all reemerged, fully rejuvenated, here in the HavenTARDIS when it was created. Doomsday took place on a whole series of interconnected worlds and not just this one known as the Wasteworld."

DocWho turned, almost as one, to look at the three 'cottages'.

The woman frowned. "We know nothing of what those TARDISes mean but I have a troubling feeling that you do. Despite their cheery, bright painted, exteriors and flower gardens, the three all emanate disturbing auras. The flower beds, flagstone areas, and other features of the gardens remain in good condition with out any obvious caring for."

Then she spoke again. "I am Mariticia, once of the TimeShadowers. We Timelords, of the five factions, can not leave her at least for 100 years while we are fully healed. The Celestial Baby Goddess has limitations in what she can do. We cultivate very special plants, and other type organisms, for her but the more exotic ones are farmed inside our TARDISes. How did Gallifrey survive the Timewar?"

DocManWho answered. "Quite good, considering the circumstances, but only about two thirds of Timelords came back to the Timelord home world and its colonies. Over time others have returned, or been rescued or salvaged, but about one quarter are still missing. Those numbers include other Timelordfolk other than full on Timelords."

Mariticia showed her sorrow. "One in four still gone! What of other Gallifreyans?"

DocFemWho answered. "The nonTimelords did better in survival but many of them are understandably angry with the Timelords for what happened, for those of them still missing. The other important factor is that not all Timelordfolk who have returned did so fully themselves; they are healing slowly-steadily but a few may never be fully cured."

Mariticia smiled. "Then bring them here to the healing influences of this timeplace. In turn they can help the small, glowing bright, one and also help deal with the mysteries based in WashingtonDC of this world."

The safevaults kept being opened to reveal networks of hallways, chambers and other features such as 'chambers of secrets' but also subsafevaults. Sarah rejoined her five sextuplet sisters, and their peoples, finding for a time mostly failed research development projects, some of them thankfully so, hidden war atrocities and information on treachery, corruption and even conspiracies.

The Illuminati came to be revealed in one subsafevault having arisen into existence in 17th Century Western Europe. The true Illuminati was destroyed by the Deep Cult Conspiracy who attempted to create a false Illuminati that failed. A very secret enemy, of both the science worshiping Illuminati and DCC, was a faction known as the 'SteelBrotherhood' that had arisen from the destruction of the Templar Knights Order and other events. It was a discovery that was to have interesting ramifications as links were formed between it and the rise of the SteelBrotherhood after Doomsday. It helped to explain the rank system, and other features, of the Steelhoods.

The fast aging POWs were cured and now were living, as probationary citizens, in CitadelTown. The changed ex-POWs gratefully provided useful information to the SteelOrderhood especially as a few had been American political prisoners disguised as foreign POWs.

Other Steelorditers had investigated parts of the SSNS that the LyonsSextuplets had already gone through and had gained much that was useful though much of that was linked to further discoveries to be made in other areas of the former USA including the Protectorates of Canada and Mexico.

As for the zetans, they were vanished off to the Havenzone of the HavenTARDIS, along with the scoutsaucer; that information was known but generally unknown was the fate of the vanished greylien vessel and its contents though it was considered that it was now in a special sealed off area of the HavenTARDIS.

The sextuplets found a great big safesubvault where stood five massive LibertyPrime humanoid type superrobots in special service-support frames. The chamber had also 20, half as small, LibertySentinels of the type once involved in the American Mutant Civil War known unofficially as the Great American Mutant Purge. Half their size were LibertySentries of which there were 30. There were also spare parts, other equipment, related supplies and data in different forms.

This was far from being the biggest surprise that the six women would discover.

SteelSage Reginald Rothchild was head over heals besotted with the newly discovered LibertyRobots for he had been looking for at least one example of a LibertyPrime only to find a whole treasure trove. PrimeElder Owen Lyons was both happy for the eccentric genius but also happy to have Rothchild 'out of his hair' for at least a while; the amazing scientist had proven to be most annoying with his constant demands.

With the big influx, of Steelorditers from California, the CitadelDC was soon proving to be too small to house them all. CitadelTown was crowded so five new, fortified, settlements were soon being set up. Owen found himself overseeing much of the activity from his newly enlarged, enhanced, augmented command chamber. He slept in a suite set up next to it shared by his mistress and their two children.

He dreamscaped, a very vivid-realistic dream like state, finding himself back in the LostHills bunker complex of the earlier SteelBrotherhood. In his PrimeElder robes he studied a much younger version of himself being trapped in a strange, brutal looking, machine and in a half capsule. He was naked and wires were attached to him with metallic devices. His body was flushed and covered with sweat. Owen had no memory of such an incident taking place.

The CelestiFateMan suddenly stood there almost as if he had always been there and Owen knew who he was though he did know how this was. "You were betrayed, drugged heavily, as were others and cruelly experimented upon by your former wife and her associates. What you did not know was that she was a Timelord renegade who had gained terrible nonTimelord powers that cost her dearly in the end; there is always a price. What Valentina did, not her true name, did caused your children, as born to her, to have both special abilities and problems. That is Stella, Shyla and the LyonsSextuplets. Then your short marriage to Vanessa, who was also the TimeWidower but in a new guise, produced the LyonsQuadruplets and LyonsQuintuplets along with the shadowy LyonsTwins."

Owen found himself unable to doubt the words of what looked to be a British businessman, of the late 19th Century, in a rather dapper, white, business suit complete with bowler hat, a briefcase and a black crow perched on his right shoulder. "She may have had special powers but, what ever name she was using, this TimeWidower was not overly flexible in her thinking. My guess would be that she was serving others, either willingly or unwillingly."

"Your Lyons intuition serves you well." The CelestiFateMan spoke. "You were drawn here, to the OldPentagon, along with others to deal with the problems both of the original Svirus experiments and the interference of the 13Genius13 of the 13Geneg13; the first are SageProfessors and the latter are the programs, of projects, that they serve while 1Geneg1 is the actual organisation that they are part of; the Geneg have a bad habit of making messes with out cleaning them up afterwards. They are, themselves, manipulated victims of a truly ancient, criminally insane, entity of entities that at this time is very weak and mostly trapped inside a prison realm that is inside the ShadowPentagon. Now, go back to sleep and after you are awoken special resources will come to you from the CelestiCouncil and the Celestrial Governance."

Owen fell back into normal sleep and had a quiet, blissful, rest with out his typical disturbing dreams or worse nightmares.
