Having Vortex install from files

I download mods directly from Nexus to my computer by doing manual download and then use Vortex to install the mods from folders on my computer. Is there any difference having Vortex install from files on my computer as having Vortex directly download mods from Nexus? Also I would like to Thank ALL the people who make the Mods!! U Modder's make the gaming experience so much more Awesome!

Having Vortex download directly, lets Vortex also grab all the metadata for a mod, so you get a bunch of information in the information panel hidden on the right

Double click on a MOD and a panel opens up on the right, if you downloaded it with Vortex, then the panel will have a small thumbnail of the mod, a description, the Mod ID and other info.

HOWEVER, if you install from files, the other trick you can do is go to your MOD tab, hit CTRL + A, then, in the small white panel at the bottom, select GUESS IDs and Vortex will attempt to grab all of the metadata for the mods and fill in all of their info panels.

The other thing you can do, is usually part of the download name (if downloaded Nexus) has the Nexus ID. You can manually enter that into the "Nexus Mod ID" field, as well.
