mulliganplummer
Which is better, adding mods in the game or mods through Vortex? Is it best not to mix them up?

Zorkaz
Use the Nexus Mod Manager. Vortex has its issues
HadToRegister
NMM is old, and lets you mess up your load order completely, because all it is is a glorified mod installer and does nothing else useful or worthwhile. If you spend the time to learn Vortex, it can make a fool-proof and crash-proof game, because it actually notifies you of conflicts, and lets you easily fix them, just by picking LOAD BEFORE or LOAD AFTER, and Vortex will automatically restore files, and overwrite the proper ones etc. With NMM, if you overwrite the wrong files you have to uninstall and reinstall the mods that got overwritten. HeyYou
NMM is still being developed. It has been around longer, and many folks still use it, without trouble. Some of us actually PREFER it over Vortex...... Is one better than the other? That is just a matter of personal taste.

If Vortex and NMM were coffee makers, Vortex would be a Keurig, NMM would be a Hose with a Funnel.
