Switching from Epic to GOG game version

I had been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance on Epic, but got gifted the Royal version on GOG. I have them both installed at the moment still. Can I just manually set the game directory for KCD and move the mods over? They are both on the same drive in different folders. I use the symlink deployment method.

Likewise, no guarantees, but I would:

1) Purge your mods within Vortex first

2) Manually set your new game location in Vortex

3) Deploy in Vortex

This process would be the same in games that use hard links. Just put your new game on the same drive as the old one, to keep the mod staging directory happy.

This is what I did with Steam Fallout 3 and GOG Fallout 3

Purged

Manually set the location of Fallout 3 to D:\Gog Games\Fallout 3\

Redeployed.

Vortex didn't complain once.

I believe Augusta even went as far as moving one her games and mods to another computer by doing the Purge/Relocate/Deploy trick

I did. but it was four games, not one, that I transferred to a new computer. My only misstep was with Witcher 3 when I placed the Witcher 3 settings folder on the wrong drive. Once I rectified that error (thanks to Pickysaurus), I resumed my game right where I had left off on my old computer. As for the other three games, I had no problems whatsoever.
