NinjaJackalope
So, I've gone through many of the threads on this site in order to try and resolve this issue to no avail. What I've tried: Reinstalling with a new version of vortexEnabling the plugin in extensions (I can enable them but I receive the error: The extension "gamebryo-plugin-management" wasn't found in the repository.)Turning off Controlled Folder Access (I've even attempted while turning my firewall completely off)Whitelisting where votex is installed in addition to \AppData\Roaming\VortexInstalling the newest version of Visual StudioRestarting my computer (multiple times) I've tried all combinations of these with no success. At this point I have no idea what else to try and am curious if anyone else can help figure out what to do?
Pickysaurus
This error usually occurs when your anti-virus or other security software deleted core files from Vortex's installation under the pretence of "security". Which AV app(s) do you use?
NinjaJackalope
Currently I have no other AV apps installed, I am only using Windows Defender.
Tannin42
Please try installing the current vc redistributable from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
NinjaJackalope
I have the current vs redistributable and that wasn't helping. I've gone to the github page and have been working on a manual install for this. I have all the prereqs and everything should be set up in my paths correctly. But, I seem to have an odd issue with the harmony-patcher install when doing a "npm install" (I get similar errors when using yarn as well, the problem persists with any verion of the installer including npm build run). It originally wasn't finding the module in the node_modules folder. However, after checking in the package.json folder I found that changing "harmony-patcher": "Nexus-Mods/harmony-patcher" to "harmony-patcher": "github:Nexus-Mods/harmony-patcher" would fix it. But, now it's attempting to search for a harmony-support module which I can seem to find reference to anywhere (in the files or on any of the githubs). Is the support module supposed to be the patcher module? (Also, I have tried clearing the cache in addition to reinstalling the node_modules folder, this hasn't helped with any of the present issues). Help with either finding out what is wrong with the installer or this module issue would be greatly appreciated.
HadToRegister
Currently I have no other AV apps installed, I am only using Windows Defender. Windows Defender is an AV program. Temporarily turn it off and reinstall Vortex
