Can we please have NMM back?

Granted, Nexus Mod Manager wasn't pretty or whatever, but it was comprehensive, actually allowed us to easily control load order, and worked between installations. Vortex doesn't have an easy load order override, and besides that is just "extra".

I just had to reinstall my games after replacing my drive, and now Vortex isn't even loading my mods, ignoring them completely despite their presence in the folder with the staging file in it, opting instead to use the launcher off of Steam, which is installing workshop mods I wasn't using in that instance. Nexus Mod Manager would have identified the mods and then asked me to sort them in load order.

Back from where? It never left, it just isn't officially supported by Nexus Mods.

Go to the Vortex download page and scroll down the page to the link to Nexus Mod Manager. Or use the link above.

You may want to take this to the vortex support forum and post up error messages and anything else you've got. There are loads of posts from people who have replaced disks, or moved disks and any number of disk/pebak issues with successful outcomes.

It'll work out best for you if you do that.

No, NMM wouldn't have identified the mods, because NMM along with all other Mod Managers store their info on the hard drive

That would've happened with NMM, MO2, MO, and Vortex as well, as all mod managers store their data in order to keep track of the mods they manage.

This isn't exclusive to Vortex, this was caused by you replacing the hard drive.

If you haven't completely ruined your install, you can get help in the vortex support forum.

BTW, you can select all your mods, in Vortex, with CTRL+A, and then select "GUESS ID" and it will grab all of the mod info
