She lost her smile when plastic-android soldiers marched five men out into an empty work yard and made the figures stand against a wall with arms bound behind them and they being blindfolded. In a surprisingly short time the five were executed by firing squad being 13 of the Green Plastic Soldiers and the officer who commanded them.

Jack had managed to just see the executed men, using binoculars, before they died. He shook his head in wonder. "All five of those men gave Anditom a bad time, along with his family. They all seem to have been professionally tortured before they died. This may reflect the vanishing of Anditom's big-little brother, the neobaby Tomitom. It has always been suspected that the Crimesters, who ran the town before this lot came along, kidnapped the neobaby to sell him as an expensive living toy. Except that nothing was done because most of those in the town were too frightened, or just did not care enough, to do anything about it. The few who protested did not have the means to do anything."

Jack: "I started helping them shortly after the little dude was taken and made a few thugs vanish, while questioning them, but I could never get to the big boss and her cronies. That is Geralda, a beautiful but cold heart crime genius. Geralda is not mortal human, I know it because I am biovire but I do not know what she is. She is something like a biovire."

As they watched a second group, two men and three women, were marched out and executed by firing squad, the previous bodies having already been dragged away.

Backwards, through time, history had changed and in the Terran Labyrinth now had existed for centuries ancient empires. There were those that struggled, those that did okay and those that thrived. They considered themselves to be Terrans but different from those above despite that in the Known Terran Labyrinth most were humans. The ancestors, of such, had come from the Terran Overworld.

Trade went on between the Terran Overworld and Labyrinth but was not on a grand scale. This was because the few easier ways down to the labyrinth from above were in environmentally hostile areas of the Terran Overworld and because of various threats that confronted trade convoys.

Yet, with increasing troubles in the Terran Overworld, refugees began to come down to find refuge in safer, more regulated, parts of the KTL. History transforming patterns meant that Black African peoples had gained zebras as domesticated animals for riding and pulling of carts along with other duties. Horse riding warriors had fought invaders from Europe, sometimes driving them off.

Grahena Maharg, clone-daughter to Graham Maharg, observed a great column of African people moving along a big dirt highway. Most of the people were on foots but there were zebra drawn carts, riders on zebras, those in trucks, buses and other powered vehicles. Vehicles often carried the very old, the very young, and gave rest periods to others.

Awaiting for the column was a large encampment of tents, temporary buildings, medical people, other supporting people, guards and yet others such as clerks. The Mahargs had set up the encampment because they were active in the Terran Labyrinth and had been so for centuries. There they were based in the Citystate of Mahargia. The refugees would end up in the secondary city of Maygrena, that was part of the citystate.

She was not officially there, was disguised as a petty official of the Mahargian Citystate Government, because she was hoping to capture three traitors who were in the convoy. They had stolen technological secrets from the Mahargs and sold them to the Big13. They had done damage to the Mahargs and, because some of the stolen technologies were very dangerous, could do damage to far more than just them.

Then came a disguised messenger to where she stood in the top of a temporary tower building, three levels high, and had bad news. The traitors had been found dead by refugees, in their stopped car, having been killed by mysterious means. The dead, and the car, looked as if it had been efficiently looted with amazing speed.

She frowned hard. Not only would the traitors not be brought to justice but there would be no chance to gain important information from them by more conventional means. The fake looting had probably been done to grab up any data that could be used as proof against the Big13's crime against the Maharg Family.

There were less conventional means of gaining information from the now dead traitors but they were tricky and some were dangerous. Unfortunately the more effective ones tended to be the most dangerous ones.

She had preparations to make before she tried and so she was soon starting a journey to Mahargia that was, thankfully, only about 540 kilometres away.

Geralda, the biozaro of biozay host combination, in truth gave her host a fairly high amount of freedom, especially for a biozay. Why? Because biozay and host were both cool blooded criminal types but with odd contradictions.

They were in a well designed, built, basement chamber linked to other spaces as a small bunker. It had plenty of hitech as imported from LabyrinthCity which was the biggest Terran industrial metropolis in the Known Lunar Labyrinth.

Geralda lifted up Tomitom, the sleepy neobaby, and spoke to him in the warmest voice she could conjure. "You can go home now, baby. I do not have to protect you any more."

Tomitom's mother came over and took her son into her arms. The pretence was over. Geralda had not been totally charitable, the neobaby 'summoning' some very useful items for her, but she had made sure the small one had been visited by his mum, dad, small-big brother and others at least every third night. Along with the handful of useful items, Tomitom had summoned up a range of toys and 'exotic items', some most gross coming from the subconscious of a neobaby.

To Geralda the neobaby was of limited interest but her staff were not happy to see the neobaby go. Geralda was already making plans to get some unwanted neobabies to pass onto her staff, hoping this would not cause her trouble.

When Jack strolled in, grinning mildly, it was no surprise. He kissed Tomitom, and his mother, making Mavis blush a little with a soft smile, and spoke to Geralda. "The Green Plastic Soldiers will not threaten you, or your people, because Tomitom does not fear you but now the UNPSIA are here in force. That means exotic specialists and supersoldiers both."

Geralda shook her head. "I do not think that they will discover us with all the tricks screening us here."

Jack sighed. "Geralda, meet Jessie J."

Jessie paced quietly in with two other supersoldiers and half-smiled at the biozay-human. "We are here to form an agreement, that you should find most profitable. We want to know what other biozay are up to in the area or what ever other information you may have. Jack said you biozay form independent factions that do not always care too much for each other and so you might not might mind reporting on them."

Geralda snorted. "Biozay enemies, of my faction that is essentially me, are up to something in the area but only because they were dragged here against their will. Now, let us start the negotiations."

AraGuardians, along with AraGuards, rescued the betrayed traitor along with all others in the prison; even the trapped, enraged, shadowy spirits were released to make their way back to their home dimension. Truth was that the ones that had imprisoned the betrayed traitor, who had begun his torment, had not been in contact with the prison for a 'long time'; the reason was simple; they had been betrayed by the Great Enemy who had consumed them.

AraGuardians had begun to lessen the harshness of prison conditions. The prisoner was reformed enough through torment, as his new beloved companion attested, and would be tested-transformed before going to Sanctum. He would become an immortal man and his companion an immortal woman; she would marry him as part of a network-marriage.

As soon as the former prisoner was gone from that terrible place, the AraGuardians began to carefully search through the complex. There were many horrors there but also valuable information. There were no other prisoners, all having died centuries ago, and their trapped spirits had been freed.

In a dark, stinking, gruesome chamber they found a large heap of valuable dataglons, each of glistening solid flesh like material. Some were dead and rotting, others damaged, but some were in good condition. With a shared grimace, three of the AraGuardians began the awful process of gaining valuable information from the dataglons.

The AraGuardians need to know more about what was happening and what the Great Enemy was up to; they also needed to know if there was more to know, needed to discover if they had made any dangerous assumptions.

A peace fell upon much of the world, that few could explain, with peace treaties ending wars and the Greynari vanishing away along with other UFOs. There were exceptions such as in Central Africa and the UN Colony of Junglenam of the Shadow Continent.

The Russian Federation surprised many by rejoining the United Nations and complying to a series of UN Mandates that it had once refused to go along with. The USA paid up large amounts of back monies owed to the UN, as did other nations including the Russian Federation and the South American League of Nations.

The last internal combustion engine driven family car was manufactured in the world, rolling of the assembly line of a factory that was due to close down to be retooled to manufacture hybrid-electric cars. Yet the number or privately owned cars continued to decrease while the number of purpose built contract vehicles, official machines and taxicabs grew.

The number of space flights to Luna, from Terran Low Orbit, increased but so did those from the Terran Surface to low orbit. Many spacecraft did not return totally but became based on the Lunar Surface from which they would operate in future, often returning briefly to Terran Low Orbit.

The process of transforming cities into dome-cities truly began with cities gaining both hard transparent domes and energy domes overlapping them. Old style skyscrapers continued to be carefully deconstructed with the rare exception of heritage status buildings of high historical importance.

As for vanishing jet aircraft, at high altitude, that was ended by the hunting down and removal of the strange devices still being carefully investigated around the world. A search began, in other forms of transports, in case such devices were to be found in them.

Yet other strange things continued not only to happen but to do so in greater frequency.

That part of Central Africa was hot sunshine, that time of the day, with large black biting flies, the rising humidity of coming rains and the glitter off the top of a small inner sea where gunboats fired cannons upon the things on the shoreline. The zombies were perishing in the sunshine, were burning, even as the glimmering mist vanished away that had protected them.

UN Peacekeepers, and PanAfrican soldiers, both had gunboats but the UN gunboats were bigger, more advanced, and also fired rockets along with occasional surface to surface missiles. Other soldiers closed in on the pitiful remains of former native people, mercy killing the zombies. There had been some ghouls but all had been killed off in the first fighting.

How had the glimmering mist gotten to be there? A well hidden, long abandoned and sealed up, PanAxis underground complex had been discovered by African bandits. Instead of being smart enough to sell their find to those who could deal with such a find with more safety, they had used explosives to blow open armoured doors. They must have been the very first outsiders to fall to escaping antinatural mist, if not swarming zombies of former PanAxis personnel.

A special UN team had already entered the complex and what it found there was shocking but no more than had been found, in the past, in other secret PanAxis research development sites. Yet again, as in so many other such places, there had been a project attempting to create a form of teleportation travel that meant going across dimensional barriers.

It turned out that not only bioyie were failing to form positive outcomes with human hosts, creating savage biovamps instead, but that the oppressive biozay were having the same troubles. Both bioyie and biozay were improving matters, creating less biovamps and were busy hunting down, and destroying, biovamps. The reasons they did this were many but the major one came from their rather unique thinking processes and the exotic cultures that arose from them; it was a matter of honour, if one could really call it that, to take care of a dangerous problem that they had helped to cause.

Geralda gave this information and also showed the UNPSIA where the Cavern of Aeroplanes was. It turned out to be a great glowcavern, of great size, of largely arid nature. Now an airport could be found there along with relatively oversized areas of tarmac including landing strips, taxiing ways and parking bays along with big hangers. Nearly a hundred rejuvenated aircraft were there and also human survivors sheltering in the biggest international terminal. Amongst them were allied, friendly, biovires. Elsewhere were biozay-humans fighting biovamps.

The supersoldier platoons reconnoitred the area around the great, mysteriously created, airport. The three platoons avoided the biozay easily and killed off small groups of crazed biovamps, doing so swiftly and efficiently. The muffled sounds of fighting came from other parts of the airport and the great spread out group of big jet aircraft. It was an impressive, even daunting, sight.

They quickly noted that all of the aircraft there were ones reported having vanished in Terran high atmospheric areas except some few machines not found on the list.

The black clad figures soon reported in their findings. The mystery aircraft could easily be accounted for as criminal machines and those not registered because of more mundane reasons. All of the registered, vanished, aircraft on the home world had been found to be there or at the UNPSIA airport.

Contact was made with the humans and biovires, who were in the main terminal, through an existing optic-fibre communications network-system in the airport.

Supersoldiers had not reported the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. The Rainbowboy came to a group of them standing guard around a poor dreaded organic aircraft, an undead thing once a graceful living wonder. Its journey, through an undeathly dimensional realm, had transformed the genetically engineered, bio-engineered, organism as it had those in some aircraft.

The Rainbowboy 'sensed' the creature's torment, but so did the supersoldiers, going to it and touching it. The creature, graceful and coming from a world of living machines, was fearful and blinked at him with great big eyes showing great anguish.

At the moment of touch there was a sparkling shimmer and the living aircraft was no longer undead. It had taken much energy, and care, but the results were more than worth it. Compassion was the primary reason but the Rainbowboy had enhanced the living machine, making it more intelligent, more aware and independent in its thinking; the result was that he came to communicate deeply with it, using empathic-telepathic means.

The Rainbowboy gained important information and then escorted the living aircraft to its new home in Sanctum.

The Green Plastic Army was getting massive and now had not just helicopters but also subsonic jumpjets. The exotic military forces transformed CrazyCrossing into a fortress. Those humans who wanted to leave, were allowed to do so, and soon most were gone. Some staid who found the plastic-androids were quite easy to live with along as one was reasonably careful.

The Green Plastic Army pushed away from the direction of human settled zones. Scouts advanced in small amphibious vehicles, helicopters, on foot or even on plastic-flesh horses.

Jack stood inside a semi-enclosed balcony, in the center of CrazyCrossing, observing the completion of a large sturdy bridge that would replace the already upgraded ferry. The upgraded ferry barge would be retained for special needs. He was acting casual though he was studying what plastic-androids were up to. The big statue, of Anditom holding Tomitom, was almost complete. The Green Plastic Marshal himself was overseeing what the plastic-androids saw as a very important project reflecting their adoration of Anditom and Tomitom.

Jack spoke to Jessie, who was standing next to him in casual gear. She spoke. "You could spend less time looking at me, Jack, and more at the plastic-greens, but not too much less, sweetie."

Jack gave a start and then a grin-smile. Jessie had called him 'sweetie'. "Their technologies are evolving with amazing speed, with them upgrading older machines and new ones materialising. They use advanced body-armour now, even for their dogs and horses, and some exopower armoured soldiers have appeared. The materialisation of vehicles, and soldiers, has slowed but is still producing a steady flow of many units. Thankfully many are specialised such as sappers, artisans, techies and clerks. Who would have foreseen the appearance of horse riding units?"

Jessie nodded. "Sweetie, you know how supersoldiers have our relationships. You can move in with me and have both myself and other femmes but please no jealousy if we go with other at times. There will always be somebody for you and mostly it will me be."

Jack grinned. "How many others?"

For that he got a mild thumping and he was well mannered enough to groan dramatically. The plastic-androids secretly observing them were mystified by this behaviour as they were by much human activity. Of course both Jack, and the supersoldiers, knew of this counter observation activity.

The Rainbowbaby had secretly been linked with both Anditom and Tomitom, to the creation of the Green Plastic Soldiers. They had met before, in dream-linkage, and the Rainbowbaby had made sure that the manboy and neobaby had survived. She loved them deeply and they felt the same for her,

So it was the the small, floating, rainbow baby figure had with her another Tomitom and another Anditom, linked with the originals. They were in a very special place that would one day be part of something called RainbowSanctum that would be linked to Sanctum in a special fashion. Already that place was so linked to Sanctum.

Coloured baby figures, including supersoldier babies, hovered around her as did superbugs. There were also Rainbow Plastic Soldiers, Workers and Servitors carrying out many duties in that great chamber and, beyond it, in that great complex.

She was being cautious but she had to be so; more than one powerful threat was out there and while she had powerful followers and friends, they themselves had cautioned her. There was also the subtle, powerful, influence of her mother, the Rainbowgoddess.

Rainbow patterns flowed, swirled, over floor, ceiling and walls. Anditom, and Tomitom, played with whirling rainbow balls. Close to the two, and herself, were three hulking Rainbowknights that were not of the Rainbowguardian. There were also five AraGuards and two platoons of supersoldiers along with Rainbow Plastic Sentries. Other forms of protection were more hidden, more subtle.

Please read above post also.

One 40.1[63]{63}

The Rainbowbaby openly met the original Tomitom, and Anditom, in person; they were very happy with the encounter as they were with the single coloured flying babies and the many superbugs with them. It was from that moment that the Green Plastic Soldiers began to adore, protect, the Rainbowbaby along with Tomitom and Anditom along with others with them.

Somehow it flowed from that moment that the Green Plastic Soldiers formed a close alliance with the supersoldiers and that a garrison force of supersoldiers were soon based in CrazyCrossing. Supersoldiers were soon training plastic-androids and improving their skills but it soon became apparent that the supersoldiers would remain far deadlier, than the plastic-greens, on an individual basis despite that both could upgrade-adapt very well.

The UNPSIA sent a garrison force to CrazyCrossing but the plastic-greens would only let them set up base at the edge of the town. On the positive side, their sappers had a series of structures, and other facilities, ready for them to use that the UNPSIA could adapt.

When the Rainbowman came to CrazyCrossing, he met with the high commanders of the plastic-androids and began the process of 'evolving' all of the plastic-androids' understanding of the more sophisticated, subtle, ways of existence including humanity. He strengthened their 'netlinks' with each other and other abilities. He had been doing similar with other lifeforms including metahumans and humans.

Then the first Orange Plastic Keepers began to appear designed not to fight, unless in self defence, but to help maintain infrastructures and to do repairs, to assist with emergencies and other such services such as Search and Rescue. The first advanced full hull hovercraft also emerged with the plastic-androids.

But trouble was soon to come in the form of attempted human intervention.

Jane Scully, Modestia Blaise, and supersoldiers entered the hidden research development complex in a graceful, quiet, rush. They got past the first security-safety boundary, past armoured doors and nasty turrets, with out any reaction thanks to clever network-systems hacking.

The trouble came beyond the inner boundary, beyond an area of utility network-systems, service support facilities, store rooms, admin office, dormitories and the like. All had been abandoned in haste, looted of what could be taken in a hurry, but much remained of value; this showed just how terrified the runners must have been.

The supersoldiers lay down a covering fire against the ghoul cyborgs, ghoulborgs, racing at the newcomers with gleaming armour and basic, powerful, guns. Each shot brought down a cybernetic undead thing. While this went on Modestia, and Jane, began hacking into the core computer network-systems with the assistance of supersoldier specialists.

What they found was somebody else had hacked the computer network-systems and had sabotaged the base security so that the ghoulborgs went out of control. It had been a greedy young man called Grassis who had been discovered, and executed, just before the base was abandoned. Grassis had wanted to cause confusion so that he could steal things of value and sell them on the secret market. That was four months ago and people were supposed to return to the place, in a month at most, but it had not happened.

They began the cleansing of the complex of the undead while seeking out more information about just what had been going on in that place. The ghoul cyborgs were not the only menace, just the worst, for other undead had been released by Grassis. There was much of value, as resources, in that place including some very advanced gear; yet the information was the asset of most usefulness.

One 41.1[64]{64}

Another massed salvo of howitzer rockets struck the on coming waves of undead creatures coming out of the depths of the Junglenam Jungles. 'Jungle' was a better term than rain-forest for the jungles of the Shadow Continent had exotic kinds of thick undergrowth despite the dark conditions normal to the jungle floor. The mutated trees grew with amazing speed, fighting each other for sunlight and other resources, being thick with big sharp needles and other nasty tricks. The high explosive, cluster, napalm, defoliant and other rocket warheads exploded dramatically and destroyed many zombies, ghouls, wraiths but far fewer vampires and lichs. The zombies sometimes wore the remains of Zaztek, or other, 'civilised' ornamentation and the ghouls used strange glittering armour and glittering weapons of bizarre energy technologies.

The attack had begun suddenly, driving back large forces and overwhelming fortified outposts and forts. Only lots of planning, practise and a fleet of hubcopters, and other special transports, had meant that most humans had escaped along with nonhumans.

Field-Marshal Elisa Harrington was the highest ranking Terran human to ever exist, according to recorded history, but she had earned many powerful enemies just for being very capable and being a woman. So she had ended up with the thankless task of directing the military forces that defended the human colony of Junglenam. Even as she stood before a large bank of screens, some showing 3Dvideo feeds and others showing various kinds of data, she was starting to get angry.

The arrogant male voice, coming from a speaker, was the UN Governor of Junglenam who often chose to try to overstep his authority and area of responsibility. "You spent valuable resources saving mere nonhumans such as beastmen, wozzles..."

Elisa cut him off. "Under military emergency rules I am responsible for choosing what resources are spent where and how. According to the Junglenam Concorde I am obliged to grant rescue to all nonhumans even if they are not contracted, or subcontracted, to work for the Junglenam. Again, Governor Yessin, you are breaking with protocols. Goodbye!" She cut off communications abruptly.

Elisa Harrington was, in theory, English and a Citizen of the United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Cornia and Snowlandia. In truth she was a Havenlander infiltrator operative as was the US President and a fair few others ruling the world.

Was the Governor part of the Cult Conspiracy, some other conspiracy, or was he just a fool? It was strongly hinted at that he was a xenophobe of the strongest kind, fearing and hating nonhumans along with what his kind called dangerous mutants. They hated others also such as clones.

She decided it was time to have him dealt with for once and all.

The Rainbowwoman stood there, almost as if she had always been there, and spoke in a strong, comforting, knowledgeable voice. "The Governor is a secret necromancer and follower of the TrueLife Cult that they call the TrueLife Following. It is they who are really behind the Tritempledom of the Trigod. That is the Trigod that really represents the twisted Trigodder concepts of undeath, true death and true life. The Trigod is not really the Godhood, God and the Goddess of True Purity as too many are told by the elite sects, and castes, of the Tritempledom."

The field-marshal turned to look at the exotic entity, who was far more exotic than her appearance would make her seem. There were lesser ranking officers, specialists, guards and others in the big chamber but none seemed to notice that the Rainbowwoman was there.

The field-marshal managed to pick up, from the background, that the attackers had hit the first mine fields and booby-traps along with nasty obstacles. High voltage electricity damaged the undead more than it did the living as did short ranged UV-lasers. Napalm flamers also did them much destruction. Yet even as many Zaztek undead perished, many more came from behind them. Mines exploded and were replaced by new mines sliding up into position. Mine throwers hurled more mines before the rushing masses of zombies who often fell into pits of high voltage death or UV-laser destruction.

Elisa spoke. "We Havenlanders have been deeply concerned about the Tritempledom since it arose. We also knew of the Cult of TrueLife before the Tritempledom arose and the first Tritemple was constructed in the Caribbean. I suppose that the Junglenam Governor wanted nonhumans to be abandoned so that the undead could feed upon them."

The Rainbowwoman smiled. "You Havenlanders have always been fast thinkers. That is the truth along with the man's deep hatred against nonhumans which is based on a deep hatred for himself. You could have him killed or observe him carefully. He has been attracting an unwise amount of attention to himself, despite his leaders advising him to stop; they will soon make moves to kill him. Just wait and watch; you Havenlanders are very good at that."

The Rainbowwoman passed a small rainbow cube to the field-marshal and vanished almost as if she was never there.

Field-Marshal Elisa Harrington went back to directing a defensive campaign and preparing the counter attack that was soon to be launched. Except that treachery would strike first.

(linked directly to 40a in Post #66)

The complex was named Juno Station and turned out to be much bigger than Modestia, and Jane, presumed it would be. Even as the last ghoulborg, ghoul, and zombie was dealt with by the supersoldiers, they began to find evidence that the ghoul cyborg project was an important cover for an even more disturbing project.

In horror they walked into a chamber where dead beings were in status capsules. They were supersoldier clones that had been turned undead but which had died instantly after that. The supersoldiers had a platoon already in that chamber.

The chamber looked like most hitech research development chambers but it somehow 'felt' worse. There were some very exotic looking devices, even by the standards of such places of unusual research.

A supersoldier lieutenant spoke to the pair of young women. "All of us metafolk type supersoldiers are linked as many that are almost one, that are semiautonomous individuals to the whole. Such also is Unity but there are subtle differences between us and them. Perhaps those differences will fade away one day. To us this is an abomination of a project."

Modestia scowled softly. "I agree! Graham Maharg will want to know about this as will your mother, Jane."

Jane nodded. "Why did they die?"

The supersoldier lieutenant responded. "We killed them through the links that we have with all of our kind. If they had not been 'turned' while in semi-status, we could have located them more easily and then saved them. It was we, remember, who brought you here."

The exploration, of the complex, continued.

The secret operation had been a well run one with military forces, equipment and supplies smuggled from Terra to the Lunar Labyrinth with the use of medium sized spacecraft. The assembled force was enlarged by other forces, resources, in the LL. The force was partly UNDF Soldiers and part corporate mercenaries.

The United Nations Defence Force was newly created and not to be confused with the UN Peacekeepers who were threatened to be cut down in size as part of the rise of the UNDF. The Peacekeepers were understandably not happy about this but neither were others who considered that sudden, important, changes were taking place in the UN with out proper widespread consultation and support.

Even as the taskforce completed preparations to move out, to strike towards Tarrytown and CrazyCrossing, word came that the old United Nations Assembly would be disbanded and to be replaced by the new United Nations World Parliament. At once there was much uproar and the changes were halted and even pushed back.

The taskforce was moving through the Soylands, of the Lunar Labyrinth Food Basket being a great suncrystal lit and warmed suncavernland, when the reason for peace across the home world was revealed. Two large faction alliances had been gathering up forces in preparation conflict with the Big13 overtly leading one side and the Unification Council the other. Yet the conflict started out with only a few small battles and many skirmishes.

The taskforce reached the city of Farmville, a major agricultural and transport hub, where it was quickly made clear that they were not welcome by the citizenry of that metropolis. The taskforce stole a large amount of food, and other supplies, before moving on; in theory they paid with new type UN Cash Bonds but they were practically useless with out any legal basis to their value.

The taskforce reached the large town of Vendigo only to find it large stripped of resources and abandoned. As they sent elite cyborg units into the metropolis, the taskforce soldiers were attacked by supersoldiers. Cyborgs fought metahumans in savage building to building conflict but the supersoldiers beat back the brutal cyborgs, proving to be superior fighters on more than one level.

The enemy force moved on again, abandoning Vendigo and heading towards the CCC Zone of communes, collectives and cooperatives. The CCC-Folk were not Communists but were unityfolk and those who lived and often worked with them.

The underworld, of covert security intelligence war, buzzed like an upset beehive with news of the incident and its implications. Almost at once there arose unofficial doubts about the pronounced identification of the taskforce that had appeared so suddenly, with such efficiency, hinting at a long term operation behind the surprise.

There came news of the vanishing of a range of individuals linked to shady corporate operations, with cult links, with organised crime networks and others who could have helped with such a project. While a few were soon found to have been assassinated, to made to disappear, others had truly gone. Were they part of the taskforce moving through part of the Known Lunar Labyrinth?

The incident led to reforms of security intelligence organisations, to major operations to discover more about what was happening and other events that shook up the human espionage community. If such a large, ambitious, project had managed to slip under the security intelligence radar, of so many, just what else might have done so?

The United Nations Security Intelligence Agency arose as a new, bigger, organisation from the much weaker, smaller, one that it had been. Backing up the UNSIA soon came the United Nations Security Paramilitary Service, the UNSPS.
