  1. OBMM uses the textures in the OMOD, but these may be overwritten or modified by activating another OMOD. Installing the original textures that came with the download will sometimes repair the overwritten texture.Archive invalidation usually ensures the last texture installed is the first used. Installing the high resolution skin textures from the original mod can fix the seams.
  2. Try using 7-zip to overwrite the skin textures OBMM installed into your data folder. Luchaire -a modder, has a mod to fix skin seams, but you may need another mod to repair discoloration on High Elf necks.
  3. Reinstall the original files for Lattamer elves to fix the spiky head parts flying off into infinity. Play with HGEC to find a better head/body mesh. If the mod was designed for the normal body, and you use the fighter version, you may have a rough looking area where the meshes meet.Try using a neck seam concealer. The Apachii Goddess Store has a selection of seam concealers. The seam is a texture issue, but the rough transition from the neck to the head is a mesh issue.
  4. Skin color is skin texture. Ozmos looks great with a female and HGEC, but males will get lighter colored body parts. I will use a skin texture from a folder I install in my game that has assorted skin textures from other mods to fix the mismatching, but that is because I do not have experience with modding tools like Blender and Nifscope. A beard and long hair will cover the problem, and quite a few mods are available with neck seam concealers. Using the exact same body that the modder uses to create the race/cosmetic pack can eliminate the neck meshing problem and also reduce or hide the seam.
  5. Make sure you have a form of archive invalidation in use. I use bsa redirection ( it is in utilities in OBMM).For a mod that does not have the information for OBMM to create an OMOD, but has many esp choices- install the meshes, textures, sound, voices and the esps you need to use into a folder in Documents.Use Create Omod and select "add folder" instead of "add archive". When you have the mod working in your game, then you can delete the information inside the folder to create another OMOD. This method also works for a mod that requires two or more downloads to work, like many stores and quest mods. As GODSBANE123456 said, if Oblivion(or Steam) is installed in the default location C:Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion and you have Windows Vista or 7 as your Operating System, You should change where the game is installed on your hard drive. I use C:Games instead of C:Program Files. I do not have User Account Controls stopping my modded game from working. To change where Oblivion is installed copy your oblivion folder and put it someplace safe, Use the disc to erase Oblivion and to reinstall it outside of Program Files, then overwrite the "new" installation with your original Oblivion folder. You can edit your desktop icons for OBMM,Wrye Bash,etc... to work with the new location.
  6. Follow the instructions in the .doc file that is in your data folder-if you use the CM Partners 2.0.OMOD. When you create a custom CM partner, you need to select your cosmetic/race mod as one of the files the partner will pull data from when you create them in the CS.
  7. Did you place all of the meshes and textures in your Oblivion\Data folder using a program like J-zip or 7-zip? I use Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) to install mods into my game. Learning how to convert a mod you download into an OMOD is the best way to prevent the problem you are having. The problem with the <!> is caused by a missing mesh. The readme for the mod will tell you if you need another mod or a utility like OBSE installed for it to work.EDIT-Read the pinned Topics in Oblivion Modifications>General Mod Talk.
  8. Have you rebuilt your bashed patch since adding the mods? I have seen people post load orders that worked with most of your active mods. Do you still have a copy of your BOSS report from sorting your load order, you might need to see if you left out a patch or forgot something.
  9. This problem is caused by a mod you already have in your game. The Chorrol gate should be visible from the stable, and the Cheydinhall Gate is north of the stable in Cheydinhall. Try unchecking every mod,but your clothing mod and Oblivion., You do not need to delete anything except for the mod that is causing the gates not to open. Another fix that might work is deleting the configuration settings in Documents\My Games\Oblivion. You will need to reset your screen resolution and any tweaks like screenshots and manual boder removal.
  10. My advice is to read some of the pinned topics here in General Mod Talk. If you have not installed Oblivion Mod Manager(OBMM) yet, This is the next item to add to your game, learning how to convert mods you have downloaded into an OMOD will save you many headaches if you do not like the mod and want to remove it. OBMM also has bsa redirection as a form of archive invalidation. Keep a copy of every mod you have downloaded and installed. Create a folder in Downloads called "Oblivion Downloads" and use this folder to store the mods. Make sure you can still play Oblivion after installing a mod or utility. Installing fifty mods before you ever play the game at all is a bad idea.
  11. You can place a mod that adds clothing next to other clothing mods in your load order and they will usually work. Hand placement of mods not recognised by BOSS is an annoyance, but if you place similiar mods together, they will usually work. The biggest problem I have noticed is that a bad placement affects the time between fast travel, changing cells, and loading saves. I am guessing at this point, but a weather mod could cause a gate to not appear. Manually deactivating mods one by one can eventually find the problem, but you may have to use a saved game-not an autosave or quicksave- to test, I have two mods that prevent Martin from opening the gate to "Paradise", but if I forget to save my game before I enter Cloud Ruler Temple with the mods active, I will always have to redo the quests from an earlier saved game.
  12. Install Steam outside of C:Program Files and UAC monitoring when using Windows Vista or 7. Use C:Games instead. The readme for OBSE has directions for using OBSE with Steam.
  13. I looked at the Readme for BOSS, I did not find anything that says it will not work in the Steam version, because it should be installed into Oblivion\Data just like a normal mod you download from TESNexus, and it only uses the esps, esms inside the data folder to create the log. You run it by opening your C: drive until you get to your data folder for Oblivion and manually clicking on the BOSS.bat file to create the log.
  14. On my laptop that has a video card Oblivion does not recognise, I have the boxes. On the computer I am using now I have the same Option box as you, but I can adjust my screen resolution and settings. I use pluggy 1.32 and Elys USV for OBSE plugins. Hopefully updating the drivers fixes your problems.
  15. Delete your current Bashed Patch. In your Oblivion folder you have Mopy. Inside Mopy is a clean Bashed Patch that you have not altered yet. Move the new Bashed Patch into your Data Folder.Activate Wrye Bash and click on the new Bashed Patch to select it, Then left click to bring up the rebuild patch option. To build the patch, select every single box and place a check in it if it has a mod you are using listed and place a check by the mod. Do this for every category. One of the categories is for MAO, some of them are empty, and do not need to be checked. When you are done you can activate the Bashed Patch and (hopefully) play Oblivion.
  16. Use BOSS to sort your load order, it uses a masterlist with over 8000 mods to sort your load order.Use Oblivion Mod Manager(OBMM) to hand sort the mods that BOSS does not recognise, or just delete them, because if BOSS using the current Master list does not recognise a mod.it might be causing the gates not to open. Pay attention to the log that is generated when you do run BOSS, it does have hints and tips for you to follow to improve your game.EDIT The log may tell you what patch you are missing for a mod you have installed.
  17. I believe it adds a one piece "bodysuit" cuirass that is clothing to A Fighting Chance in a chest that you have to steal to use, it is a first mod by someone, and they decided to release it on TESNexus a few months ago. You can place it after your clothing replacer esp and it should show up in game.
  18. You could install Elaborate Eyes and make the eyes playable for your race in the Construction Set,but you need to watch out for black/googly eyes with vanilla npc's. A Topic covering this has been added recently and the post made by Vagrant0 offered another solution that is worth exploring.EDIT in Oblivion Modification>Mod Troubleshooting "Google eye fix" by Antioche
  19. If you are using Oblivion Mod Manager, then just deactivate the mod(s). If you delete everything in Meshes\Characters and Textures\Characters that has footfemale in it it will do the same thing. You may need to clean out some clothing /armor mods to make the game child friendly. You could use a version of the body replacer that already has underwear, and use a different body shape for your game if your situation will permit it.
  20. Before you have to return the game to the store for a refund, in Documents\My Games\Oblivion there is a file named Oblivion and it is the configuration settings for the game-Delete it and see if the game will start. You may have to reset your screen resolution, but the game should start and go to the main loding screen where you can start a new game. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy playing Oblivion.EDIT Read your edit, you may have dirt/dust build up inside your cd/dvd drive. Read the manual for your computer and try to clean the drive.
  21. Vanilla is anything that comes from the first Oblivion disc.It can also be used to mean anything made by Bethesda Softworks for Oblivion. To create a glowing set of eyes in the Constuction Set, you need a mesh and a texture to give the mesh color, What heavywaters is asking is "Does the resource have the glowing textures included, or do you need to create your own". Ghogiel is telling you how to make your own glowing textures with Oblivions resources and Nifscope?
  22. If you have Windows Vista or 7,Oblivion needs to be installed outside of C:Program Files. I use C:Games\Oblivion. SoVvM never was finished. If you downloaded Alexanders Wings to fly try Ring of Wings TESNexus php?id 23570-This mod requires three BSA files and one esp to work,V 3.0 and V3.05 update are needed. Read the readme for Thieves Arsenal, compare the file with the textures inside to the textures in the download before you delete the folder,or reinstall Thieves Arsenal, they may be there so you can edit items in the mod later on to suit your tastes. For your question on the patch look in the lower left hand corner of the main loading screen(this is where you can select new game), you hopefully will see 1.20416. If it is not 1.20416 you will need the correct patch for your language and whether or not you have Shivering Isles (SI) installed, the patches are available on TESNexus. I have never used Verona House Bloodlines to offer advice.
  23. You may lose the enchantment, and the item may not show up at all, depending on the mod you use.Why don't you just create your own item in the CS using the Apachii meshes and textures and place it in Weynon Priory Chapel. If it has an esp, it will (usually) stay in game and keep any enchantment it already has.Unless you are hitting the 250 mods active limit, You could move the activators for the entrance to the store inside the testinghall, and not use any exterior at all. There is a whole wall of doors for this purpose inside the testinghall, and six unused doors inside the center pier.P.S. I would like to tell you how to do this myself, but I would have to learn how to do it with a good tutorial first.
  24. Unless it is Steam or Direct to Drive, it is probably illegal, Steam is the best bet for Oblivion, because you can use the same utilities (like OBSE) that are available for the disc version. If you are using Windows Vista or 7, install the Steam program outside of C:Program Files and UAC. Use C:Games instead of C:Program Files.
  25. You need to install Oblivion outside of Program Files and away from UAC monitoring. I use C:Games\Oblivion instead of C:Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblvion. Oblivion works fine with Windows Vista, and you can even have access to the console without "Ring of Console" . I have protection from malware provided by UAC. My CS crashes are caused by my own ignorance and nothing else.
