  1. Yes there will be ways to probably do this but you probably should not be talking about it here.... Any kind of pirating talk is kind of frowned on.
  2. ???? What exactly does that all mean?
  3. So nobody has any opinions one way or the other about this?
  4. Ok have you tried basic things like validating for game files? I'm guessing that you are launching the game thru NMM? If so can you launch and start a game straight thru steam or directly from the Fallout4.exe thus bypassing NMM? Are you using any mods? If so try to disable them and see if you can start a game.
  5. Well I'll be damned... I figured out how to remove a map marker you set and I could have sworn that I tried this already but apparently not. Anyway if you manually set a marker the way to remove it is to click on any empty space on the map. Not on any other map marker. When you do so it will ask you if you want set a map marker or remove a map marker. As I said I could have sworn I tried that but I guess I only clicked on the marker I had set and that will not give you a remove option. Though why not is beyond me. Anyway one little annoyance eliminated.
  6. OK I'm just curious as to how most people edit their INIs? Still see a lot of people telling others to go into their Fallou4.ini and make whatever edits or changes required for whatever they need the game to do. Even mod authors do this in their mod descriptions. Same thing goes in regards to the Fallout4Prefs.ini. Now maybe it's just habit from Skyrim and FO3/FONV since those games did not have a custom.ini. But I think it's better instead to make any changes to the Fallout4Custom.ini. From what I noticed and seem to have confirmed is that anything in the Fallout4Custom.ini will overwrite and supersede the other 2 INIs. Also it will not get replaced unlike the other INIs can unless you make sure to make them read only. So you don't have to worry about losing any changes you have made. Plus all of your modifications are in one file so easier to keep track of. Seems to be a much better option. But if there is a reason not to only use the Fallout4Custom.ini then please speak up. I'd really like to know and understand why?
  7. Well he as well as quite a few others seem to really like and get into achievements. But I'm like you and could care less about that crap. But again some people get into it for whatever reasons.
  8. Then what you need to select is #3. This way you can be screwed up before everybody else... :teehee: Personally myself I just take the updates and hope for best. At least to this point I've been pretty fortunate. The only thing that I have to deal with is waiting a bit for an update to F4SE. Other than that everything, at up to now, has worked ok.
  9. Just curious? Will it allow you to start a new game? Or does it CTD as well?
  10. I've had pretty much the same luck. I have never really messed around at all with performance modifications. I just let the game set itself to the highest setting and I go without any real issues. But I happen to have good hardware which really does help.
  11. Sorry about my reply but I thought the OP was asking about keeping mods updated...
  12. Well if you right click on a mod and then select reinstall mod it will first uninstall the mod and then reinstall it taking you thru the options for any configurations or settings you may want.
  13. Also what about modders wanting to use or needing to use 3rd party stuff like the script extender? How exactly can Beth control that? I just don't see how they will control the modding for PC users. Yes they can completely control it for consoles for sure but I doubt they will or even really try to do so for PCs. If they do try I'd bet there will be somebody out there that will hack the crap out of the game and make mods work for PCs.
  14. Thanks for replying and verifying this for me. I really do appreciate it. That is what I've been doing but sometimes I like to not have the indicator showing in my hud unless I actually want to use it for whatever reason. I know I can remove the indicator from showing in my hud if I want to change my hud settings but it's just a pain to have to do that each time I want to use it or remove it since it requires to do so out of game. Just weird that they eliminated the remove option from FO4. I don't play Skyrim. Was the remove option available in that game or is it just FO4 that it has been removed? If it was not an option in Skyrim then I can better understand why it's not in FO4. Though I still think it's sort of stupid. If you can set it you should be able to remove it whenever you want. Finally sorry for ranting on about this. It's just one of the many little things that bug me about the game and I was just trying to verify if it actually a game thing or something wrong with my setting or something. I know there are more pressing issues with the game but again it's just something that bugs me...
  15. I haven't seen anything like that as yet. Now I only use Nexus for any mods that I use so what I generally do is whenever I install a mod I'll also track it. And then each day I make it a point to check the mods I'm tracking to see if any of them have been recently updated as well as endorse any mods I'm using that I haven't endorsed already. Please endorse the mods you are using. It's the least you can do. Now I know you can check for updates with NMM but that option doesn't really appeal to me. I like to see if there is an update and then open the mod's link and read about what's been updated to be sure I need or want the update. By doing it via tracking works out great for me as far as staying updated.
  16. Think about it. Donate to DD and then you run the chance of getting on his mailing list. I'd be afraid of getting bricked.... Just kidding DD... :teehee:
  17. Wow no replies at all? Is it maybe because it's just a stupid question or is it that nobody has any kind of answer? If it's a stupid question then just say so. I'm a big boy I'll be able to handle it. Anyway let me ask? Does anybody have the option to remove a map marker once you set it? As I said above I always had a remove option in previous Fallout games but not with this one. If there is supposed to be a remove option then why the heck do I not see it? Anyway at least somebody confirm to me that there is no option if indeed there is none I'd appreciate it because it sort of bugs me right now.
  18. Wonder if Beth was actually reacting to all of the complaints or are they really reacting because Sony and Microsoft came down on them? But I guess whatever is the actual reason at least maybe all this stuff is finally coming to a close. We can only hope. Hopefully any mod authors who were really upset and left will eventually return and create mods again.
  19. I primarily use NMM. However at times I also install manually depending on the mod. But again I use NMM for the most part basically because I'm just lazy and it works well at least for me.
  20. Ok I generally do not use markers often. In previous Fallout games I remember being able to set a map marker and then easily remove it. But in FO4 I can set a map marker ok but then I cannot figure out how to remove it all together. There is no remove option. All it seems to allow me to do is to set it someplace else. So how the heck can I get rid of a set map marker all together? Is there maybe a console command to remove it that I'm not aware of?
  21. When you say Fallout4default.ini are you talking about the Fallout4_Default.ini in your Fallout 4 game folder? I'm not really sure what the purpose of that ini is used for. The Fallout4.ini in your documents folder is the one that gets created when you first launch the game and the one that you generally make edits to. Maybe somebody can explain what the Fallout4_Default. ini in your game folder is all about and why it is even there? Also there are 2 Fallout4Prefs.ini files as well. One is in your documents folder and the other is in the main Fallout 4 game folder in another folder called Fallout4. Again what's the purpose of this 2nd Fallout4Prefs.ini? Why are there two of them?
  22. When you say crash after the launcher loads do you mean you never get to the game menu where you can start new game or a saved game? That generally can indicate a missing ESM but your load order looks ok at least from what you posted.. Check and make sure that your game's video resolution is set the same as your window's desktop video resolution. If it's different then it can also cause this type of crash. Finally have you tried launching and running the game thru steam and not thru NMM to see if it will get further along?
  23. The plugins are showing because they are installed in your data folder. But somehow your NMM is messed up so they don't show in your mods window. Have you tried uninstalling NMM and then reinstalling it? Hopefully doing so will fix the issue. Also hopefully you will not have to download and install your mods again.
  24. Well that will just let you opt out of beta so if a beta update comes out you won't receive it. That won't stop a normal non-beta update. You have to be off line to prevent that. other option is just put a firewall on the Game.exe and firewall on steam, no need to unplug your cable. that's so old school  Never said unplug the cable. But being old I guess does make me old school from time to time....
  25. I love this mod. Whenever I start to get bored with a play thru I'll enable this mod then just go out and roam around chasing down firefights that will be just about everywhere depending on how you configure the mod.
