  1. Having kids will do that to you. It will also make you feel quite alien. But if you indeed ARE an alien in our midst, it's nice to know we aliens and humans have something in common right out of the gate
  2. BAN! the lot of ya for reasonless banning!

    help

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, but you make dang good and sure you REALLY are. Issues have a way of burying themselves and popping up at the most unexpected and inopportune times. I think I said before, get yourself a journal and write till your hand gets numb. Empty out all the weird, bad, negative, unpleasant stuff into it, then HIDE IT!!! You don't want someone coming upon it, not understanding what it is for and why you've said the things you did, and then freaking out. I told you, this too shall pass and you are strong enough to endure. Talk to SOMEONE, even if it's to talk to us. But ultimately, as someone else said, we can give you all the good advice in the world (and some bad I'm sure, lol) but it's up to YOU to make the change. We support positive change and continue to have faith in you. NO MORE CUTTING!!! :verymad: Ok, here's your NW Hug for the day! :turned:
  4. You might be "art" but you ain't the winner of this fight Krimzin my dear  Ha Ha! I win!! and in an obscenely overused and abused color of GREEN! ;D
  5. Hmmm GRANTED! Hard to corrupt that one, I'm sure there's a host of folks that agree, lol  I wish DeathKnowz would get the nobel peace prize for wishing away skinny jeans!
  6. Dude! Are you friggin serious?? If you got stroked with the ban hammer, good enough for ya. Sorry, but that was a pisser of a statement. Most premium folks that I know are members to SUPPORT the site and the efforts of staff, modders, etc. NOT to avoid the ads. Honestly, I never even noticed the ads, so it was no biggie to me. Supporting the site was much more important than getting rid of the ads. Wow, just wow. :yucky: Yeah, he got banned, Not for that comment but for trolling on the file downloads. For those that don't know. This is a huge site and very expensive to maintain. Those ads pay for your free downloads. Bben46, Moderator
  7. Oh Mercy this is a dumb question! But how does one vote for a suggested tag? I'm shown the "x" to disagree, but unless someone has agreed before me leaving a green check, I cannot vote to agree with the tag. Thanks in advance for addressing this question!
  8. I'm sitting in a corner, biting my fingernails, hair standing on end at the very thought of it! NOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Memory sticks and external hard drives are your friends!
  9. ^Enjoys using witty and wise quotes from the movie Dune.
  10. BAN! to Shadowmadnezz for being gone so long and then threatening to marry my daughter when he gets back! ;D BAN! to Martin for his disdain of my use of the color green AND for making me laugh out loud with that ban!
  11. ^Is a pretty talented modder of all games TES and FO
  12. BAN! to Krimzin for stealing my ban for the long named sheep, lol As Andy Milonakis used to say- I was just about to say that!
  13. I agree with Maafia too, it does depend on the person, but as Vindekarr says, you have a great attitude about the issue, and that is truly half the battle. As a child I was petrified of the dark (spiders too, lol) I became immersed in all things horror. Stories, movies, games, even writing short horror stories myself. Now, for the most part, I'm not that scared of the dark unless something causes it like an unexplained noise or movement. But I know now that my fascination with the horror genre was a result of my need to gain mastery over my feelings of being scared of the dark. This works much like someone who has had a funky childhood with fractured or painful relationships with their parents/primary caregivers. They end up as adults getting into one dysfunctional relationship after another. They too, are trying to re-do the past in an attempt to gain mastery over feelings of helplessness, low self worth, loss of control and lack of healthy boundaries. As a mental health treatment modality, what you are considering is called "desensitization," meaning you expose yourself to the offending feeling, behavior, issue, etc. until you no longer feel the same emotional intensity towards it. So yeah, I think you have a good idea to expose yourself to things that might scare you, through playing scary games. There is always the chance it will make you more scared, but you have a goal in mind and know what your desired outcome is, so you have a good shot at it. Good luck, I think you will succeed!

    help

As I recall (and do correct me if I'm wrong, my memory stutters like an over modded TES game sometimes, lol), a short while back your parents were having mad problems with each other. It sounds as though they've stuffed their feelings (so they think!) but in actuality, all their bs is now being aimed at you. It may not be safe to overtly lash out at each other, so you end up being the fall guy and an easier target. It may be as complicated and as simple as that. I know it's extremely hard, but don't take it personal! They have to be right as a couple before they can be nurturing, attentive, giving parents to you. I think their vision may be clouded right now due to their own issues. I'm just so sorry to hear they take it out on you. You know darn good and well you ARE NOT a nobody! Last time you reached out, many people here at Nexus responded to let you know they cared and would be there for you. I see some people on this thread I've never seen before, meaning not our regular crew, giving you words of wisdom and food for thought. Some good suggestions to keep your sanity, even though your parents might be losing theirs, in a manner of speaking. You're bright, funny, charismatic and an all around good person. You're old enough to get a job. Try finding something, then you can pay for your own internet. Sometimes we have to do things like that when our usual avenues or solutions are no longer possible or viable. WK is right, only a survivor would reach out. A less strong person would cut on themselves first, or do something equally unproductive and self destructive. You didn't and for that you need to congratulate yourself. Unfortunately, having troubles is something we all have to go through. It makes us stronger and more durable, not to mention wiser, in the future. I know that sounds like a cliche and/or corny, but that doesn't change the fact that nine times out of ten, it is true. You do what you have to, to rise above this madness. Go to a secluded place and scream, throw things, cry, write in a journal, whatever helps you to release your feelings. That way they won't stay inside and fester like garbage in a sealed barrel. Remember, sometime, somehow, this too will pass. Until it does, the praying folks will be praying for you, those that don't will send positive vibes out into the universe, aimed directly at you. Hang in there little brother. You can make it through this, I just know you can. ~BIG HUG~ T
  15. I don't know how many mods you have installed but I just left this for another poster having trouble with dialogue. He is running 158 active mods. I don't know if this is either of your problems, but never hurts to check out all angles when a solution is not readily evident. My response to the other poster is below. I hope it helps you as well. I don't know if this has any relevance to your problem, but I've seen several threads/comments indicating that others started seeing/experiencing odd bugs and glitches once they hit the 150th mod mark. I guess that could be the problem. From what I've read, although presumably NV would function well with up to 250 mods like Oblivion, not many people had been able to pull that off with NV. Again, around 150 seemed to be the magic number where problems would begin to show up. Hope that helps!

  17. Hmmm...that only happened to me when I installed a couple of mods. The mods may not have had icons for the pipboy, so that error came up. Your issue sounds different though if it's happening with vanilla items. Sorry I can't be of more help. But I can say this, not having the icons or getting the error didn't interfere with the game or game play at all. I just didn't have any icons in the pipboy for those items.
  18. Very good video and congrats on your second one! I remember how amped I was the first ones I made  You wondered where you might post them. On my profile page under "About Me" are the links (video boxes if that has been fixed) of two of my best ones. I linked from youtube using the code provided here. They started out small and morphed into full scale productions. The last two were very time and labor intensive. But as long as they comply with youtube's file limits you can post them there and then link them to here. Also, by uploading them in the files section, you get a variety of folks viewing and hopefully endorsing and leaving comments. It's nice to see how people received the work you've done. The very last one I did, was an epic production, lol The credits were a video in and of themselves. I ended up posting it as a mod upload to the file section. To see what I mean you can check it out here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33244 I got such enjoyment out of planning the moves, compiling the clothes and locations my companions and I would use, along with synchronizing the music to the different locales and changes in tempo within the video itself. I learned an awful lot. I've wanted to do one for NV, but I haven't been able to get Umpa's working in it yet. I've already got my next song picked out, so eventually I know it will come to fruition. You keep experimenting with it and expanding on your skills. You'll get better, and learn something new with each one you do. Feel free to check mine out. I know I was so proud with each one. That last one was so big and complicated that I did have to take a break though, lol If I can ever help you also, don't be afraid to hit me up.
