Actually, xEdit is used to clean dirty files. As far as the sorting goes, you don't need to run LOOT to sort. I mean, you could, but it's redundant. LOOT sorting is included in Vortex as part of the program; that's what the Plugins tab is doing when it sorts.

Vortex GUI - Q&A - explanations (not suggestions)
HardwareSc8 replied to NikVilKok's topic in Vortex Support
Yeah, Bethesda's got a really bad habit of leaving dirty edits in...All official DLC for every gamebryo game has to be cleaned for ITMs. -
The catch I've found with mod managers (Vortex and MO both) is that it's not enough to have SKSE set to run as administrator; you also have to have the mod manager elevated so it's running as administrator.

VORTEX - PROBLEM WITH CONFLICTS RESOLUTION
HardwareSc8 replied to slowman87's topic in Vortex Support
Hmm...report that one from the in-program feedback system. That sounds like a bug to me.- 20 replies

I know that it's going to be a crazy wall-o-text, but can you post your mod list? Maybe someone here can spot something in it.
-
Yes, but I don't know if it's actually written down anywhere online. Masterlists on PC are in LOOT.

In this case, "capping" refers to the fact that if you're not a Premium member, you can only download at a max of 1 Mb/sec, no matter how fast your internet connection might be.

If I understand things correctly (and that's a big if...I've been wrong a lot...), Tannin is already looking into this as base functionality. I know that ENBs, at least, have been discussed.

Ah. I didn't know that symlinks were prohibited by the game. But then, I've never really seen a need to mess around with them. The More You Know...™

They've hired one and are looking to hire one more, but last report I heard, Tannin is still doing it by himself so far.
-
No, there's not, not yet. As I understand it, the reason is because it's still very early in the alpha phase. There's only one person working to code Vortex right now, so it'll take a while for major features to find their way in.

Did you report this within Vortex?

(Suggestion)Shutdown after downloading
HardwareSc8 replied to hihellobyeoh's topic in Vortex Support
I don't think they can implement it. No non-OS, non-manufacturer software is going to be allowed to control the computer to the point that it can autonomously power off the unit. That's a HUGE security issue... -
DarNifiedUIF3 doesn't work with FO3 through Vortex

Did you bug-report it? That sounds like the kind of thing Tannin needs to know... -
V0.13.3 adds spurious dependencies
HardwareSc8 replied to Deleted3897072User's topic in Vortex Support
I think it's artifacting in the javascript code; stuff left over from specific behind-the-scenes tests that sneaks into the release versions. Happens all the time in game dev. I've look at my local copies of the LOOT masterlist, and the errors we're seeing don't match up to what's in my list, that's part of the reason I think it's artifacts. Or, I suppose, it could be some form of code corruption; the program tries to repair itself and strange things result. -
V0.13.3 adds spurious dependencies
HardwareSc8 replied to Deleted3897072User's topic in Vortex Support
Yeah, that's a bug... LoS is supposed to load after USSEP, according to what I've read, so that one can't even be blamed on LOOT... -
Click the gray boxes that say "Disabled" on the Mods tab. Plugins won't show up until the mods are actually enabled.

At least for me, the installer overwrites the previous version.

From what i testet it feels kind of inferior to mo

Ah, okay, I didn't know that either... -

HardwareSc8 replied to bondagemod's topic in Vortex Support
Okay, first, before I respond to anything else: Understand that Vortex is meant to replace NMM, not MO. 1. If by "directly change the esp order" you mean drag-and-drop manual ordering, that has been answered in multiple threads around here; DON'T start into it again. (Just some friendly advice...) 2. I actually don't know about the missing-.esp highlighting, but I would be interested to know that as well. 3. Per-file conflict resolution is coming, but Tannin hasn't gotten to that yet. I don't know exactly what form that will take, but it is in the works. -
Just to err on the side of having a complete paper trail: What setting is your Plugins tab sorting by?

Hope that's maybe a little helpful...
