  1. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with. I'd love to see a non-vanilla framework. Considering what's been done within the fairly awful Vanilla System, I love the idea. I think it'd be interesting it you built the idea of archetypes into the system, so any new follower could utilize the various archetypes, but existing mods, such as Vilja could have custom archetypes to take advantage of the framework. IE if Vilja is doing her Bard thing, it would allow Ceri to sing along for example. Or if Ceri is having to heal you, a follower with the defensive archetype can be 'alerted' to taunt enemies attacking you. Hooray!! :D
  2. I liked it better before. Black and white, one strike you're out. The trouble with shades of grey and moderator discretion is that it always ends up as an argument. I've been on both sides of it and it's just not worth the effort. Honestly I think you went above and beyond the call of duty with the unban button. I hope mod authors will have the ability turn off the moderation tools as well. I'm responsible for my own actions in the creation of the mod. I have no reason nor wish to be responsible for the people who use them.
  3. True but A) the courier wouldn't know that, and B) since crimson Caravan doesn't offer a trip, Happy Trails is the only option.
  4. I'll tell you, nothing is more fun than two-handed weapons an light armor.<br><br>For actual role-play, I find that being a hunter, roaming the wilds of Skyrim, entering no big city other than Whiterun is incredibly fun. The only reason I enter Whiterun is to sell my venison to the Vendor, and buy arrows from the Drunken Huntsman. Plus to warn the Jarl about the dragons. Not going to let some overgrown lizards eat all my deer. All my crafting is done 'in the wild' using smelters and other equipment not found inside the big cities. Portable Campsite is a life saver for not having to hunt down a smelter or anvil just to make some arrows, or a cook pot to cook up some venison.<br><br>Exploring of natural caves is okay, no ruins, no bandit dens. Mines are acceptable.<br><br>I'm currently doing an Orc who's a descendant of Gopher's Stiv, who is intent on finishing what his 'Clan-father' started in banishing Alduin, while also becoming an Orc Forge Master. IE, ascending both sides of the smithing tree. Can't take Dragon Smithing until I have both Daedric and Glass Smithing.<br><br>I agree it's fun to limit the characters from things to make the game more interesting. An Altmer wizard who disdains destruction for bound weapons. Or a Khajiit battle mage. Or, entertainingly, an Argonian who's afraid of water. (Not that he can be blamed, considering they removed underwater combat but left us with Slaughterfish.<br><br>Another fun character was an Orc by the name of Grovuz Org-vorgu, who fought only with a Mace and Shield. The only ranged attack he had was the first word of the Fire Breath shout. It was very challenging because until the dragon landed, he had to aim to hit them on the wing. It was awesome. Fought one in Winterhold until it crash landed outside of town, then had to race to reach it before it regenerated enough to resume flight. Only character that's never died on me.<br>
  5. Did your Courier save Ringo? If so, when he tells you he's heading to Utah, your courier might want to see how he's doing and thus get caught up in it.
  6. Move around so the NCR shoot the Securitrons. that should turn them enemy with the NCR. I think anyway.
  7. Several reasons. For one, it's difficult to do yes. It requires reworking all the trees to have shedding leaves built into their models with all the animation that entails. And without access to the animation tools and resources Bethesda has. For another it's ultimately a cosmetic mod, with little effect on game play, because it's already easy enough to see through them leaves or no. Finally it's a major resource hog, so unless you've got a pretty powerful computer.
  8. Sorry I was replying to Mujuro and explaining that I like UFO's 'So what are you good at?' line because it tells me what the most effective armor is for Ceri. She's better at light armor, instead of heavy, so it's better to put her in that. @Mujuro: Can Ceri be told not to dual wield weapons? I gave her a Shivonna from Jaysus Swords so she'd stop trying to hit people with her dagger after running out of magicka, but now she stops shooting to run in with dual weapons. I don't mind the dual wielding, but I take the dagger away, and the next moment she goes racing by, carrying an Iron Axe in her second hand. I'd rather have her spell/sword wielding.
  9. Yes, I like being able to use that function, so as long as it's still usable, I'll be happy. It's helpful to know what kind of armor you can put on the follower for best survivability.
  10. I don't, mostly because it becomes too hard to judge the hits with my weapons. I'll be honest. I've noticed that Vilja is outside the main companion system, yet seems to have several features of UFO. I mean, I can ask her what she's good at, and she'll tell me, but she didn't have the 'You Know...' option. I wonder what was done that lets her do that? And if she's controllable with the UFO shouts. If that same functionality can be kept with Ceri, while moving her out of the follower framework, that would be fantastic.
  11. It's not a perfect version by any stretch, but I really like the Tactical Flamer mod. It's very good in construction and being a smaller two handed flamer, that very short range feels far more natural.
  12. Ultimately, I hope that once all the DLC is out and about, the makers of UFO, EFF, and AFT get together and all build a unique framework to bring all the followers together under one system. Not that it'll ever happen, but it's a nice dream. As for the poll questions: No, she shouldn't be summoning creatures. Those are generally deals with Daedric entities, and so it's not a good one for her. However, if she were to summon a custom weapon, either a conjured staff or perhaps a conjured bow for dragon fighting, for example, that would be fine. But making them custom weapons with unique models, and looks so that they don't look like the default 'deal with the devil' weapons. A bow with a golden shader, so it looks like it's divine in origin, instead of daedric. I said no to a lore-based reason, however, discretion is the better part of valor, and if she were to cast muffle upon entering sneak, that would be fantastic. After all, a good priest or priestess knows when to be discrete. Finally, on the last, yes, archetypes are important. It's all but impossible to tactically engage an enemy, using a bow and arrow for that opening sneak damage, when the instant your follower sees, they fire off loud summons and then start flinging damage spells at full tilt. Usually just after you've fired the arrow. I've had targets survive a death cam because they moved to avoid a spell and also were missed by the arrow. I have yet to meet a follower who didn't charge in straight away.
  13. He actually looked at doing an X-verse nexus and the resounding answer from the Egosoft forums was: No thanks. This: http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=327531 is the topic in question if anyone is interested.
  14. If you're having problems logging in, ensure all your proxy settings are correct.
  15. I much prefer Gopher's SKSE tutorial, but it's pretty simple. Download SKSE. Extract it to the Skyrim Folder where the TESV.exe is located. Inside you'll find a folder called SKSE then the version. Open that, select all the files, cut them. Go up to the Skyrim Folder, and paste them. Now double click the Skse_loader. That should start the game.
  16. It's actually well done. Nothing needs more than three ingredients, so it's not too bad. The one in question needs Gold Ingot, Diamond, and either bone meal or glow dust. I think there are two, a greater and lesser version, but I'm not sure.
  17. The fallout NV mod was Tailor Made by pintocat, but he doesn't have any Skyrim mods.
  18. There's at least one in Midas Magic. It's one of the ray spells, which both heals allies, and hurts undead in the same spell. A little expensive to first acquire due to the rarity of diamonds.
  19. Did you install manually? If so, did it get completely installed? Try installing with NMM, or using NMM to check it.
  20. As far as I can tell, to do the visual effects, it needs to be modeled in 3dsmax, and then converted using Nifskope.
  21. The New Vegas GECK can now also be downloaded from Steam under the Tools heading. On the other hand, that error appears to be something missing from the .net framework I believe. Try updating that first.
  22. I suspect so. I'm not too good with textures though. Have you got the .dds plugin?
  23. I don't know. I always give Veronica a Super Sledge instead, and she'll use it unless it gets disarmed by a lucky shot. I know I have on that lets me take their weapons away, because it also allows them to use normal ammo instead of companion brand, but I'm not sure which one it is.
  24. Not proper texture matching. There are gaps being caused by removing pieces of texture. It might be GIMP cutting pieces of the texture off. Ensure you're working on the right layer.
