World LOD question
BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah replied to lelcat's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
I got it settled, I believe. I was only looking to do the Pip-boy world map (I'm relatively certain that's all I need...relatively, heh. Either way, I read through that part anyhow, just in case) ...and my issue was totally my own mistake. ...I kept check-marking "Normal" in FO4edit. Dur on me. =/ Thanks. -
World LOD question
BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah replied to lelcat's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
Curious, what did you change to get it to run through? I end up with an .lod file (after the Creation Kit seemingly generates the LOD successfully) for the worldspace, but going into FO4edit (to "save as image" to prep for Pip-boy viewing) and selecting the worldspace for loading, I'm told: "No LOD Level XX* textures for worldspacemyworldspace "myworldspace" [blahblah], try other levels." *same response, regardless any choice made Beg your pardon for this small hijack, but you seem to be at least one step ahead of me. =) -
Modding swf files for consoles.

In which case, if you haven't already, do a search for the Bethesda Archive Extractor on the Nexus. -
As opposed to Beth.net where I answer a question and it's immediately followed by 3+ other people answering the same question with sometimes only slightly varying degrees of change to the wording, and sometimes hours apart. =/ ...it's somehow infuriating to me, I don't know why...admittedly, my distaste is most likely unwarranted and unreasonable... (Regardless if this was an thread jack comment, it's bumped your thread back up to the top and maybe you'll get an answer...you're welcome)

cant load Multiple Masters=1?
BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah replied to tawatabak's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
If you put it in creationkit.ini, you'll have to re-add it every time there is an update. Putting it in creationkitcustom.in should save you the trouble of having to re-enter it next time. -

Hello, If anyone would like to give us a hand and test an interior settlement in Far Harbor, we'd appreciate it. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14647? SPECIFICALLY VERSION 1.4.3, the OPTIONAL FILE It should be pretty straight forward, however, the 2 of us are getting widely differing results. What we are running into is that it's working (at least what I expect to work) for myself, but not for the author (I'm just the Help today, heh). Could use some detailed feedback. Looking for some info on: -Beacon usability (I have seen it take 5 days for the first to show up...but sometimes only an hour or 2...so please give it some time) -Settler moving between settlements (they don't always move right away, sometimes not until I've left the zone and goofed off a bit) -Workshop object placement (testing results of procombine and previs) -Far Harbor companion dismissal at this location (Ex: Will Old longfellow stay/go there upon Dismissel?) -Commonwealth companion dismissal at this location (Ex: Will Preston stay/go there upon Dismissel?) -Supply lines (both the actual line on the map and the overall functionality, ex: "Does it show on both worldspaces, one, neither, etc.?") -The map marker does not show the settlement stats on hover (this one I've given up on for the moment) -Anything and everything else (but the above are the annoying things right now) that one might come across...except for "can't scrap this"...I think that might be a detail for much later. =) Note: Must complete Brain Dead quest (DLC03_V118_Quest) to unlock Workbench, and must explore the exterior Vault entrance at Cliff's Edge Hotel (CliffsEdgeHotelExt) to unlock the map icon. "coc DLC03Vault118" will get you right outside the the Vault. It's a good location and he's done some good work on it and could use a good hand, so any actual functionality testing and detailed feedback on those functions would be appreciated. Good? ;-) Did I miss anything? I can't think anymore right now. =/ Thank you and have a good day. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Well, 1.4.1 is a bust...1.4.2 is probably a bust...but 1.4.3 (when I get it up tomorrow), mayybbbeeee something good, it's surely looking up. Just can't find the explanation to why my changes are not getting to them...some random file I'm not pulling into the archive or some old version lingering on their systems...I just don't understand. Anywho... So, thanks, but maybe we've got this under control...I'll bump it if we still need a hand. Thank you. =)

Are you doing an interior or exterior settlement? Far Harbor or Commonwealth? Reason I ask is that I've only seen the "missing are the stats when hovering" is on interior settlements in Far Harbor (running into that problem helping someone else with their interior...in Far Harbor, heh). Out of curiosity (because common issues with new locations): -Did you confirm supply lines, by the way? -Can you dismiss companions at/to your new location and they actually stay/go there? As for the order in the list (and it really is a list more than a guide)? My reasoning was that since the Workbench linkedref's to many other things (more than the others), I thought it easier to understand by having it at the end (of that section) because all the linkedref objects would already be there to, well, linkedref (can I say "linkedref" enough times? no thesaurus for a made up word, heh).

I use this: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4172/? Seems to work okay. Specifically because it doesn't touch the water, is why I latched onto this one. -
Anyone manage to get custom Settlements working?
BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah replied to mcpicky's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Did you do the: LinkedRef tab > Ref = WorkshopWorkbench - keyword = WorkshopItemKeyword for each of the food items (and beds, defense, water, etc...stuff that you would expect to see in the top bar of the Workshop GUI)? Also, are you trying to do an interior or exterior settlement? Only time I've seen an issue with the map marker not showing population and happiness was with an interior settlement.- 1 reply

An RP way to get unlimited Junk?
BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah replied to CyborgRox's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I had a fleeting thought about a stolen Institute matter transmutater (sp?)... Example: 200 useless wood, but need concrete? Transmute it! (with some loss/predefined cost/detrimental effect, of course) But even just the programming (before any other considerations) in all what could be changed into what started sounding like the return would never match the effort. -
I"m not implying it's a large part of the mod theft and again this isn't a debate about mod theft I'm saying accident's happen myself and if people don't know it can and will happen it will happen more often. edit and also if you think I'm trying to justify the mod theft just look at my signature, try to look up DCInterior, NVInteriors and Beantown interiors! There all hidden in protest!!!!!!!! I believe I understand. My apologies.Just got a little sensitive at the implied nood'ishness and chose my words poorly. ...not that anyone would/should know, but I've been in the tech industry for 30 years and modding for several of those...I didn't appreciate the (most likely only) perceived noob implication (again, overly sensitive today, I fully admit...'welcome to the interwebs, Blah, and you really need to stop reading the forums today', heh).

And you're assuming I'm modding while other mods are installed *intentionally*.1) Accidents happen 2) Assumptions are bad I will, however, cop (sp?) to being hampered by lack of space last night (as I and not being as careful as usual because of that, and that being because I was relegated to my laptop since I was in a pinch). Do I agree that it makes up a even mildly large part of what may even be mistaken as mod theft? Sadly, OP, I do not. Sorry. Just thought I'd throw a little hyperbole into the thread.

Had this happen to me just last night. Still can't figure out who it belonged to (asked torcher, but wasn't their's...could still have been something from WET...). Either way, just "Remove''d it from the archive (as it wasn't necessary anyhow). Glad I was paying attention, though. But yeah, it happens to us "Numnuts"...point is, though, that's it's not difficult to miss one file in a list ~100.

Creation Kid Documentation wanted (needed)
BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah replied to RattleAndGrind's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
^This^ Everyone wants to video everything. Pause, alt-tab, unpause, rewind, rewind, pause, forward, turn up volume, full screen, wait for buffering so what lettering there is isn't blurry, turn down volume, alt-tab, alt-tab, minimize, unpause...lame (for me). =/ And sometimes, I even still like print out things to read...geez, I really am getting older. Anywho... Other than the https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3760875-fallout-4-modding-tutorials/ , I can't mention much specifically. Not to be a jerk, there's just no one great repository that I've found yet. I *will*, however, point out something that has helped me greatly...kind of a reminder in my case, actually: Creation Kit guides for Skyrim, New Vegas and Fallout 3 can still be quite apt for this new version. So much of the basics carry over quite nicely. So, when googling, don't be picky about which game your asking questions of Creation Kit about. A skyrim (for example) guide to navmesh'ing (again, for example) may very well tell you what you need to know for Fallout 4. Good luck. =) P.S. I do find these 2 helpful: http://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Reference http://www.creationkit.com/fallout4/index.php?title=ObjectReference_Script -
I listen to music *all* the time...except when working in the CK (and win server). It's quite lame of my brain. I tried, I really tried...and it should work for me considering the game world lends itself well enough to my type of music (and I enjoy my own music while playing). However, the juxtaposition when working in the environment of the CK (or, as noted. with win server) and country/outlaw country is just too great for me to enjoy them together. "He's a high-tech redneck. Mayberry meets Star Trek" Edit to add: Surprisingly, maybe, I find most Linux distros offer a fine environment for country sounds...maybe it's the open source nature of it, feelings of being free to do what one pleases...with few requirements other than that one be willing to put in the work to do it. ;-)
