  1. Didn't know Dagoba had a site up. I'm also hoping that NSFW manages to pull through with their plans for hosting.
  2. It's not a delusion at all as we are literally working with mod authors on the new system as part of the internal testing going on right now (which is also referenced in the news post even). As we're making progress, we'll be adding more mod authors to the testing group and their input is and will be shaping the collections feature. We do not claim ownership of any mods you upload to our site. Anything alluding to the contrary is completely false. Please stop making such claims or we'll have to moderate against it. I suggest you guys talk to your lawyer(s) or something, because your ToS is contradicting itself. One sentence says you don't claim ownership, the other says you have infinite rights over user content and do what you want with it (aka, claim ownership). If this doesn't apply to mods, you should say so clearly.
  3. I left "public" modding some time ago (simply have no time to give support to mods), though I still have recent posts in the GMAD from when all this blew up (before I lost access). People should see what I do to my weapons. They would rip their hair so hard that the scalp would come attached to it. For example, I changed the Beretta 92FS to energy + cells, same with the G36, and made them nice and OP so that those lvl 100+ NPC (I have a mod to make enemies scale to my level every time I load cells) can't rely on being a sponge. I also made the FS explosive, and the G36 has plasma (turned them into legendaries). I think I can already hear the screeching of their tortured souls over what I did to my weapons.
  4. You can find her mods at Bethesda or at her Discord.
  5. That depends entirely on which engine you're modding. I started with C languages and LUA back in the Neverwinter Nights times (well, if I'm completely honest, I started with Sinclair Basic, for the ZX Spectrum). I learned some Papyrus for Gamebryo (Creation Engine nowadays), but didn't go far because it's horrid. I'm a Game/World Designer (actual dev irl) so, I don't really work directly with coding (not my thing to be honest, I hate coding. However, I still need to have some understanding of it, or talking to the engineers is impossible) but I'd say, start with C languages, java, XML and so on. A lot of unity mods are a mix of json and XML, for example. Others are in C++, or all of those 3 combined. This is just a couple of examples of what's out there. Start with the basics and work your way into more complex languages. There are plenty of free courses around on the internet for you to check out. If you can, get the free version of Unity and go through their tutorials and mini courses. They're pretty good to start out as well, and Unity is by now, one of the main engines out there. Also, you'll have the advantage of faffing around with an actual engine, and building things from scratch (to a certain degree. However, if you want to focus on coding, just grab some of the free assets and code away).
  6. I'm also on "team clean". The way that Boston (and everything else) is completely filthy and people are one step away from living in caves, is completely irrational and senseless to me. People literally living in places full of skeletons and trash? No one has figured out how to make nails? Hammers? Do the people in the commonwealth suffer from collective amnesia so badly, that they don't even know how to tie some bush sticks to a long stick and make a broom? Or pick up one that survived the bombs and time? I've seen mods to literally add more trash to a settlement, as if a fetid hole is a place where any sane person would want to live, but hey, "you do you" as they say. I suppose it would make sense if you have some super mutant settlement or something. However, do I go there and call people names over it? No. I just block that mod so it doesn't appear on my searches and I move on. Tell your friend to mod what he likes, as he likes, when he likes, and to ignore/ban the idiots that come his way. If it gets too bad, disable the comments and leave the bug section up. It people abuse that, remove the bug section too. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
  7. Tell that to the end user As we've already seen, it's always the mod author who get the blame first And mod list makers could easily say "Lol, don't blame me, tell that to the mod author, I just make collections" And the mod author will say: "My mod works fine out of collections. Don't pester me, go pester the curator that shoved my mod in its collection. I don't support collections." Aaaand then... let the fun begin.
  8. They are pathing to world objects, not constructed ones. The AI has serious problems with constructed objects. Stairs, and doors. I constantly see settlers and companions try and walk through walls while ignoring the door one step to the side. And it's not navmesh, because these are stairs and doors I've watched them use just a few minutes before. I've literally seen NPC's trying to walk right through the middle of two double doors connected together. "Who needs all that space? I'm going to try to go through this tiny bit of wall anyway!" (and if I can't I'll just stand here, walking in circles like a headless chicken!)
  9. If things go they way I think they'll go, you'd better buckle up, because it's going to be one hell of a ride, and the modders will be the ones getting all the flak. Just wait for someone with 4-8 gigs of Ram, and an old graphics card, downloads a Collection that has the "official Hi-Res Textures, along with 4K texture mods, with super high resolution titties the size of a zeppelin collection" Can't wait for the accusations to fly at us modders when we start getting blamed for it not running on their system You forgot the high poly meshes in that fun soup.
  10. If things go they way I think they'll go, you'd better buckle up, because it's going to be one hell of a ride, and the modders will be the ones getting all the flak.
  11. Say... after all this time modding... do you really think the average mod user has any good sense of logic? They're the very reason that modpacks exist, and even like that, they manage to do the wrong thing.
  12. Doesn't even have to be mods. Just look at how many people complain that "Game ABC doesn't run in my 20 year old rotten potato with win7/XP!" and then blame the devs because the game doesn't run in their rotten potato from 20 years ago... Same logic with mods and modpacks. Update the game/mods, instead of complaining that "tHiNgS dOn'T wOrK". Sorry, but I lost count to how many people I've seen grabbing mods/modpacks for rigs that are running medium/high specs, and try to run them in rotten potatoes, thus complaining about mod/modpack not working when they don't even have the specs to run said mod/modpack. It doesn't even have to be a long mod list to do this.
  13. Guys... how many more of you are trying to end up in a very specific, not nice, thread in this site? Is it really worth it, to try to catch the sea with your bare hands? It's quite clear that this isn't going to change unless people throw mass lawsuits at the site after the 5th of August, or there is a mass exodus of modders and their content. I lost access to the GMAD because I deleted my mods when I ran out of real life time to mod (real dev here) "for the public". I still mod for myself, at my own pace and time, in more than just Bethesda games (nowadays, mostly Unity games since it's what I work with IRL). That GMAD access is based on you having an active mod AFTER you gain access, to me, is not ok (once a modder, always a modder), but I can't change it. I posted my concerns, both in the GMAD (before I lost access) and here, in another thread. Screaming until I get kicked out of the site, won't change anything. Am I in favor of modders losing their IP? No, and Copyright wins over ToS. Those who wish to take action after the 5th, should be aware of this. Also be aware that you need to prove Copyright to win. Am I in favor of modpacks (or whatever they're called in whatever site)? I'm neutral. If I had mods and they ended up in a modpack, it would be very simple: get it updated or get lost. We've all (or, at least, most of us) spoken about what we think, our opinions, positions and courses of action. Now, it's a matter of "what's coming?". Will there be competition for the Nexus? Some people say, yes. Will there be lawsuits? Some people say, yes. I've never been in so many discord servers as I am now, but I prefer that, to losing half my mods in several games (including, but not limited to, Bethesda games). After the 5th, the gloves are off on both sides, and honestly? I'm glad I'm not a part of this "mod author mess" anymore. I have enough to stress me in real life (who wants crunch? I give out some for free). All I can say is: good luck to all those involved, no matter which side you're on.
  14. Wow, I go away for a couple of days and stuff explodes again. Have they given back GMAD access to people who, for one reason or another, don't have the mod here anymore? No? Well, it's ok. No intentions to post mods here again. So, what's going on here... oh, still word salads, now with some texmex on the side. Welp, back to my real life dev job, and modding for myself only. . . . . . . . .
  15. FTFY. Yup, and Arnold played Rambo. I think any of us (the ones that got that reference), aren't spring sprouts anymore.
  16. how about this scenario. lets assume i have a cracked game that is not at the current level of the paid for game in terms of patches and such. perhaps there's a version of a mod that works on the current version of the game, but if you install that patch on a back level game, it doesn't work. however, as nothing gets deleted any more, i can pull down an older version of a mod that works on my older version of the game - and joy of joys i have a cracked game that has an older version of a mod that brings something to the game that wasn't there before. as i said, i'm certain you've thought of this, because you've put two years of effort into this (yet that quote above kinda betrays that effort somehow) - but that's a pretty plausible reason to go for an older and unsupported version of a mod. isn't it? so, as you've thought of this and every other potential banana skin there is - what would be your solution to prevent that scenario from happening, that doesn't include deleting the old, unsupported mod that is still relevant to an old, cracked version of a game? remember - you've kindly removed all complexity from modding games now, and its nice that users of older, pirated games can play along too? People with games on GOG DO NOT HAVE TO UPDATE. So... don't even need to be cracked. Just needs to be on GOG and you can install whatever version of the game you want, and you don't have to update it if you don't want to.
  17. Oh... so you're that tiny fly that has been landing on it, lately... No idea what you mean... :whistling: Not where Hey was coming from, but my spin on it ... https://www.quotes.net/mquote/78437 This is the actual spin:

    Nice work....

You've even been archiving old mod pages behind our backs as well, which became clear when I was notified that Dark0ne had "archived" mods I "deleted" more than a year ago while he was deleting my files. The files had presumably been deleted with only the mod page left, but I honestly don't know if I trust that this is the case anymore, or whether you've even lived up to my request for a full deletion now. Right now I can still see my own mod pages in my download history, but I no longer have access to them. They still have images, a full log of actions that I took on it, as well as my name on it. I can even see how many endorsements I used to have via the API. Why was this data not deleted? You should have at least deleted the images (which are also my property), and the sensitive parts such as my username and full logs, and severed the connection to my account. And if your intent was only to delete the files, you should have left me in control of my mod page to manage the content that was left. There's no transparency in this process whatsoever and I have no idea what to think or feel, other than a sense of confusion and betrayal. This. I have the same thing happening to my mods. Still there, images and all. It's very cute. Also very cute, is how I will not support those mods in any way. Enjoy the fun if you (Nexus) put them in packs. Also, cute to link GMAD threads to people that you (Nexus) took the access from because "no popular titty mods" published. Yeah, staff seems to make a habit of linking discussions (where they should be continued....) to closed threads, or threads we can't access. That's just oh-so-helpful...... What is really happening is, they are attempting to do damage control, and limit airing their dirty laundry in public. I had seriously considered making a mod that ALL it does is, give women larger breasts. I should have 1000 downloads before the end of the day. :D I've been considering making a mod called "Shoot The Pack!". Let's say that instead of a pack of ghouls, you have a pack of files running about, with insane damage and stats AND it bypasses God Mode. Good luck to you if you come across "The Pack".
  20. Am I the only one on the planet who has actual on-my-hard drive copies of mods I use? The last person who clicks on the Download Manually button? We humans are in danger of losing the ability to use our left click finger if that one extra click is the deal breaker. You are not the only one. :D I think I still have almost every mod that I have downloaded, since oblivion. Both on a drive in my machine, and also backed up on my NAS. :D An army of two ... we shall take over the world eh Hey? Army of four............ Army of 5. Technically a squad now, I think, but we can build from here. XD Apparently, we are "The Expendables"...... :D Are you trying to make me spit water on my screen? Because I spit water on my screen. *shakes fist*
  21. Showler... bye. Also... who are the other 2 "showler" accounts that appear on my list? No matter... bye to all of them.

  24. I've been modding for some... what... 20 years now? I got into the gaming industry (I'm a game designer) through my mods and NOT through the Nexus, I assure you. Nexus wasn't even a thing back then. Having 1000 Downloads doesn't make "you" a modder. It just means you made something popular (like titties). I can't help but laugh at the absurdity going on here. Since when do downloads mean you're a competent modder? Whatever, really. Like I said before... you do you.
