  1. Funny, I do the same thing, have several merged patches and I have no problems positioning them in my load order exactly where I want using priorities. People have become so accustomed to doing something a specific way to the point that they are unwilling to learn a potentially better and more powerful to do it. Give Vortex a chance, take the time to learn a new way to organize your plugins and you may just find that you like it better. Also understand that a lot of functionality may be outright missing but that does not mean it won't be implemented later. Why have it simple if you can have it complicated... I have better things to do in my life than spend hours managing dependencies one by one and giving all the mods, priorities on LOOT. And then pray I don't CTD and have to do all this crap again. This not to mention that the "great" Vortex didn't manage to find NMM (0.64.2) because I have NMM installed in a custom folder and I had to spend hours installing all the mods. Why? Because there's no option to look for where NMM is installed. Pure genius right there. Vortex? Maybe in a year I'll look at it again. I'm thinking maybe you are better off avoiding alpha state software and should stick to fully released products. I'm that thinking maybe you are better remembering who is the main target for Vortex and what it is replacing. This isn't a tool only to be used by veteran modders/players that know their way around things like we do. I'm looking at this tool from the POV of a random player that just wants to pop his mods, move mods around a bit to get them to work and go play. Vortex as it is right now, only caters to MO2 and Wrye users + those who have the knowledge to deal with dependencies and setting up priorities in LOOT. I can do all that, a lot of us can do all that but it's a hassle and time consuming. Vortex is supposed to replace NMM and who uses NMM the most? The normal, average user that wouldn't know how to manually install those mods. They don't care and don't have to care about priorities and dependencies. If Vortex is supposed to just cater to players with deep knowledge (aka niche), then it's better that they focus on improving NMM instead of releasing this thing. MO2 and Wrye already cater to us, we don't need a 3rd tool that caters to a niche instead of the general user.

  3. Moving mods around is absolutely needed for me. I merge a lot of mods and I need to move the merged esp around to avoid CTD. If I try to load a game with Vortex's load order, I only get CTD's in the face. This is the primary reason of why I don't use Vortex. May NMM have its faults but I prefer to have control over my load order than some algorithm that thinks it knows better than me what I'm doing with my game. Make it an advanced user option if you will, but put it there. I'll start using Vortex as my main mod manager when I get back control over what mods are doing. If the option doesn't appear, then I'll stick to NMM, MO2 or Wyre.
  4. It's as simple as wrong line. Correct one is: bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1
  5. Out of curiosity, what's the size of your save file? Saves that get too big are known to cause CTD and even stop working completely (Bugthesda for you). I know this may not be the best thing... but make a backup of your current saves (copy them to another folder where you can keep them safe. You can copy them back to the save folder again and continue to play after testing). After that, delete the saves from the Fallout 4 save folder and start a new game to see if you still get CTD's.
  6. I'm taking my guesses that these are your culprits: *Rebalancer - 06D - NPC Level Bonus - 20.0.esp *Rebalancer - 10A - General Respawn - 5.esp *Rebalancer - 10B - Dungeon Respawn - 10.esp
  7. Sometimes I think I'm better off not being able to afford to buy the DLC's right away with all the bugs they bring. Not sure if you will be able to completely get rid of CTD's (let's be real... it's Bugthesda) but keep an eye out for updates to your mods so that they work with Nuka World and update as soon as possible. One thing: Since Bugthesda decided that placing esm at the top is overrated, make sure that the Nuka World esm is up there together with the other fallout esm files, below the VaultTec esm (DLCworkshop03.esm). Loot should place it there right away but better safe than sorry.
  8. Hmm... disable your custom SFX and PA mods and see if that still happens with a vanilla PA/SFX. If no issues arise with vanilla PA/SFX, try re-installing (uninstall completely and install again, don't overwrite) the PA mod and test. If no issues arise, re-install the SFX mod and test again. Edit: I just noticed something that I didn't last night (serves me well for posting stuff half asleep): you have the Unofficial Patch. I've been tracking the UFOP and I'm holding off from using it until FO4 build is stable because right now, it's a hit and miss on which mods will conflict with UFOP. You might want to try running the game a bit without it activated to see if that's related to your issues.
  9. Hmm... this looks like you install things manually and just copy paste the files without choosing which esp you want... Well... check out the notes I left on your load order and then: 1 - Update your mods. 2 - Run LOOT to try to sort the load order. 3 - LOOT will place Scrap Everything in the wrong spots, move the files manually to the bottom of the load order. 4 - Check out the duplicated esp files and choose which one to keep. 5 - Load your game and test it out for a while. I hope this helps you fix your issues.
  10. I did look at your load order and from the ones you listed, the mods that I've heard about causing some CTD here and there are the looks menu and unique player. Disable both of them and then run LOOT to check the load order. Load your game and test it without those 2 for a bit (make a new save if needed) and then see how it goes with one on and one off, alternate which one you activate and test again. Remember to run LOOT when you activate/deactivate the mod. Other than that... check if True Storms if having some beef with other mods or if better settlers is trying to punch supermutant overhaul in the face. Also, try moving scrap dead things to the last place at the bottom of the load order. Most of your mods are just "fluff" and are things that kept updated, shouldn't really be conflicting with each other but... we all know how it goes...
  11. Hmm... I don't see your fallout.esm in there, is it hidden by default or not loading at all?
  12. Did you happen to uninstall one of the mods that inject new menus via script without using the in-game uninstall? For example: Snap N Build (would make Structures disappear), Modular Kitchen (would make furniture disappear). If so, try the Universal Missing Menu Fixer. Install it, start your game and go have a coffee, take a bath... basically, let it run for a good long while. Then save your game, exit, disable the mod and load your game again. Hopefully, it will fix your menus (seems to be a bit of a hit and miss according to the comments...)
  13. Unfortunately the way to try to find out what is causing a CTD can be time consuming and involves numerous loads of you game. Keep in mind that while mod conflicts can (and do) contribute to CTD's, Bugthesda games like to CTD by default because it's cute and fun... or something... First thing to do: Make sure everything is up to date - game, patches, mods, etc. Second thing to do: Run LOOT to see if the load order needs a change. If there's any change done by LOOT, apply and test it out for a bit. CTD still happens? Then here comes the boring part: You can get a good idea about which mod (or mods) may be having problems by loading them into xEdit and checking out if there are any conflicts that could potentially end up in a CTD. Therefore: 1 - Check out the mods in xEdit 2 - Load the game without the mods that seem to be problematic and check for CTD. 3 - Load the disabled mods one by one and test for CTD's until you find the culprit. If you're not familiar with xEdit, there's a way to check out mods but it's very time consuming: 1 - Disable all mods and load your game (make a new save if needed). Test it out for a while. 2 - Load the mods one by one and test the game with each one to see if it's one of the mods creating the CTD's. I hope this helps.
  14. um..... where exactly am I supposed to type that? I load the CK, I click on File, I click on Data, the window opens with nothing in it. There is no option to tell it where the mods are. He's telling you that the CK needs to be installed on the root of Fallout's folder and not in some other random folder of your choosing. CK finds everything on its own if you have it properly installed. If you have the CK in some other folder, delete it and reinstall it into Fallout's root folder, it should work then.
  15. I think "extreme paranoia" doesn't cover the settings. Norton is already "extreme paranoia" by default... he must have that thing on "apocalypse now" settings... lol
  16. You have a mistake in the resource dirs. You have sResourceDataDirsFinal=Strings and that is incorrect. It should be: sResourceDataDirsFinal= Nothing else.
  17. Please... I will so land on such mod(s) if it comes out after the GECK. 10 minutes into my 1st play through, I was already fed up of "muh Shaun!!!111ONEONE!" On top of it, they give an actual name to our character and what we do in effect, is change its real name? What gives, Bethesda? I feel no connection whatsoever to the Sole Survivor's "muh Shaun!!" blurb or the SS husband/wife (they die out of stupidity anyway... always nice to ignore a gun to your head...). At some point my head turned it into "some kid needs rescue" and blocked out all connections between Shaun and the SS... I kid you not. Also, someone please add the option for us to marry our romanced companion? If I can see those 2 (not spoiling who) getting married by the pastor in Diamond City after talking to them and opening their eyes, then why can't we marry our companions?
  18. I'm in Germany, not a bunch gets censored unless it's Nazi related stuff or unless you request your Internet connection to block such things. Ever seen what the extreme forms of objectification (beatings, rape, acid attacks, etc) do to a woman? I have, many times... and you can never get used to seeing the next woman in front of you on that gurney... it's HORRIBLE. I can look at someone with half their skull missing and not miss a beat as I work on them... but that... I can't... it's the one thing in ER that I will never get used to... I agree with you in this 100000000% See, as I said I'm in Germany... but I'm not German. I'm originally from Portugal and I moved here years ago to finish my studies (German medicine schools are very good) and I ended up staying here. Now, I have to be afraid of walking in the streets because I look 100% foreigner. I have that typical Southern European face/complexion and my Portuguese accent is heavy even if I speak German. I also have to be afraid that my girlfriend gets randomly attacked by those guys for no reason other than "women are objects". What infuriates me about people saying "it's just mods" or "objectification isn't illegal" is that they don't remember the horrible consequences of when that objectification is taken to extremes. Those "migrants" that we have invading can tell you guys a lot about those extremes... and I've seen more than my share of what those extremes can do... and will continue to see it as they roll into the ER... So, I'm passionate about this? Yes... but I have my reasons to be. I like tasteful nude/erotica as much as anyone else... but I hate what's going on lately.
  19. It was indeed, generic. Game mods or not, it doesn't make it any better. Made by a woman? Doesn't make it any better. Objectifying guys? No better than objectifying women. The topic of women abuse is super hot here in Europe for reasons I'm sure the vast majority knows about. I never found objectifying and mistreating women nice, I find it even more infuriating now with all that is going on here. Somewhere in Europe, do you have a problem? And by the way, where I live (and most of the civlized world) rape and pedophilia are CRIMES. I could report that site on the pedo s*** alone... deal with it. Free world... get real, we're not living in Fallout yet. Oh really? Wherever you live must censor the internet like hell. https://www.google.com/search?q=skyrim+mods&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a205/alexisdorian/My%20stuff/youidiot1_zpskkitbio0.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a205/alexisdorian/My%20stuff/youidiot2_zpshmmxvgbi.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a205/alexisdorian/My%20stuff/youidiot_zpsrgywwsrr.jpg Shove it please.
  20. One day, I found Lovers Lab and gave it a look... and felt tempted to report the site to authorities. Main theme of their "mods": 1000 ways to rape. Plus all kinds of other sick crap... I hope Nexus won't slowly turn into something like that for the sake of profit. I find the mods objectifying women that are being allowed here pretty bad already. Women are NOT objects.
  21. Feel free to head over to Lovers Lab for your slutty/porn/objectification mods. That's where they should be, not in a site that can be seen by anyone of any age like the Nexus. All those funky mods should be deleted from the Nexus and the authors pointed to the Lover's Lab site to post that crap.
  22. I made this thread before he answered me. I don't have time to check the comments every 5 secs.
  23. Why don't you just go around naked and weaponless while you're at it.
  24. Just came across this: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9425/? The author is claiming to have been able to use Skyrim's CK to poke FO4. When I tried, I had a ton of different errors, from steam errors to library errors, version control errors... you name it. Can anyone else confirm if this can actually work and if it does, how can we set up the CK + what are the limits of the CK's use in FO4?
  25. Amen to that. It seems you have mixed Gilibran's quote with mine.
