  1. If I remember correctly a lot of the screen shots are artistic renderings of the game, or an idea of what they want, example is the time elapse video! I may be wrong tho.

Combat is definitely an improvement from Oblivion, I especially like this " . . . any weapon or spell to either one of their character’s free hands." Makes me seem like it brings Morrrowind's magic casting back!

Beth also kind of admitted to the mods subject "After playing an Oblivion mod that turned the bow and arrow into a formidable weapon capable of one-hit kills, Bethesda decided to adopt that approach." How awesome is Beth!

  2. Those of us that played Daggerfall and Morrowind somehow have a bad outlook on Oblivion because of the reduction in the variety and depth of the game. All the "new" people getting into the TES series my find it the other way around.

Skyrim, from what I have read and seen, will be more than likely to be a combination of the three - or two if you only played MW. I honestly think it will seem dumbed down to those who are just getting into the games, because they compare the game to Oblivion not MW or Daggerfall.

  3. Here I am waiting for the release of TES V, playing 3 and 4 till then, having a different gaming view point - from playing these games. I am looking and playing with Skyrim in mind at all times. For instance, just found a mod I have for adding dragons to Morrowind! Pretty nice.

This topic I hope will be like a twitter/facebook type of update to your wait for Skyrim. Maintaining to the subject of TES and specifically Skyrim.

Find anything you find interesting in the other games Related to Skyrim? Post! Get info on the 11-11-11 release, tell us! Just want to talk about the game, go right ahead! Pictures, discussion, and constructive debate helps us all!

  4. 2315 - Playing Morrowind again!

I realized in MW that almost everywhere u go the Oblivion gate symbol is on everything!!!

2320 - Playing Oblivion! Seems like everything Imperial, especially gates and banners, have that Skyrim symbol on it and there are hardly any Oblivion sign anywhere near to the Skyrim one!!!

maybe it is just me but Morrowind was trying to tell us about Oblivion and Oblivion was trying to show us Skyrim. Is it just me nuken it or something else going on,and be ready for Skyrim's hints and signs?

  5. I will say that playing Morrowind first brought me a different perspective on the rest of the TES game even to come. Its music, to me, is perfect tho short, game play unique, and story and variety unparalleled to any TES game made thus far. The first thing I did when Oblivion came out was add the MW music to Oblivion Music files. I will probably do the same in Skyrim, just because the music in both game are epic with the game.

The music in the trailer for Skyrim is a combo of both MW and OB to my ears. It may not be the theme music but if it will be I do agree with Eiries that it will get tiring after a while, unless they get a good background as in OB, the moving map. I have high hopes in the game Skyrim! :woot:

  6. I could not agree more with you all! TES is a completely different game than FO3 or NV. The only thing I see possible like TheCalliton said is different options for the mastery levels. If bows or ranged weapons are utilized again like in MW, I could see a vats system but at a very high level.

I started playing Oblivion again, after a long break, when I heard of Skyrim. Up till now I've played FO3 and NV several times. I will admit I thought that vats and level perks would be nice, but that is the FO talking not TES.

bben46 is right also! The game is probably in the testing and debugging phase right now. Not to much is going to be added or changed I'm afraid.

  7. Recognized voices would be awesome, just not for every single person like WizardOfAtlantis said. I would like to see three maybe four different voices for each race more less.

The narrator in the trailer would be an epic voice actor too, though I have to say I do not know who he is! Sean Bean, Terrence Stamp, and Wes Johnson I would really like to see again, or hear again.

The most important voicing to me is that Morrowind style of greetings. If that can come back I would just die, then after they revive me, I would just die again!!! Seriously though, the dunmer from MW would be great.

I could not agree more ROFL.

The trailer is a good peak into the music that may be in game. My hopes are high, very high, personally. Jeremy Soule is the man for the job no doubt.

From the music though I get a middle ages hint from it, which I like! Hope music continues like the trailer.

P.S. A Norwegian band Dimmu Borgir came out with a new album, several of which has very mid-evil style songs! Would not mind some of that, but without the rock.

  9. Skyrim would benefit from a little Morrowind it sounds like - mainly the Bloodmoon expansion. Ice caves would be amazing and random open fields of grass in between mountains would be a way of not having all snow. Having the feeling that snow is all around you and that it is falling all around can have a 'where am I' feeling, especially if Beth does not add a quest marker for everything.
  10. One of the biggest things I like about Morrowind and Oblivion is the awesome music. FO3 and FO:NV was awesome to but seperate from TES. Beth knows who to get good actors to voice and get superb music in their games.

What do you think about Skyrim? Is it going to be better, different, or just don't care? Your thoughts!

Actors who you would like to voice are also welcome thoughts too!

  11. online gameplay means no mods. so no, never TES should remain a single player. look at bioshock2 yeah it had multiplayer but who cares, it sucked. they should have spent more time on single then wasting time on multiplayer.

I completely agree, I voted never.

They should continue to spend their time and resources on making the best single player games in the world. There are tons of multiplayer games already available.

    I also agree with this.

My words exactly. Normally in games that have multiplayer, the singleplayer is buggy, short or boring. So I vote Never.

I could not agree more. I could not live with myself with what both of you said. Multiplayer also means that the graphics will not be the best also . . . in most cases.

    I also voted NEVER.

  12. Somewhere I posted my thoughts of how the next tes should go, but I think it needs repetition. First I start with this statement.

Imagine this: Morrowind lore and quests and also the variety with oblivion style graphics and actions.

Now of course improvements are a must but that is what I could work with after oblivion.

    1. Variety of everything like in MW - smoother me!!!

    2. Lore that goes together with other games and book

    3. Large map w/ no fast travel - that is what horses are for

    4. As said by others, something other than a prisoner start, not birth either - maybe a recovering warrior like in rehab

    5. Lots and lots of dragons and demon men

    6. A BETTER MAGIC SYSTEM, SPECIFICALLY ANIMATION like in MW

    7. More weapons like in MW

I am basically saying bring Morrowind back in some way!

  13. I love Bethsoft just for the TES games! FO3 and FO:NV were and is good but not like Oblivion is. I would like Tes to continue but with improvements and not hastiness.

Imagine Morrowind and Oblivion together to equal one game, NOT in story but in the gameplay and stuff. The variety and lore of morrowind with the graphics and physics of oblivion with improvements that is what I am talking about. A totally new and epic story with a new twist that is ... well new and different from the rest but in a good way.

The next TES game is going to be great no matter how it come out, and I will buy it just because I love the series. Except if it has steam like this new Fallout >:( :wallbash:

  14. I had a dream the other night and I saw the MW and Oblivion games combine into one super tes game. It was called Flintshire!

Burb... Or maybe I have been playing tes series to long!?!?

  15. Hardcore and Firefight games are awesome in my opinion, tho they can get irritating sometimes.

The bringing back of blood gulch is a needed map for multi. Reach in general looks amazing and huge.

My 360 is a first sold edition, pretty old. I bought their Reach 360 bundle and I cannot what to get it on the 14!
