I miss the old item dragging style from Oblivion
eltucu replied to ViVicyde's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
One thing that really, REALLY annoyed me is a simple fact. Anyone that tried just for one minute, ONE minute, to place something on a table, facing at a particular direction would notice that making items while you're holding them in the air maintain the SAME direction even if you move around your camera is plain retarded. If the item was, for example, always facing at you, you could just rotate the camera around and you could place an item at whatever direction you liked but since the damn thing its always facing at the same direction you picked it, you cant rotate it at all! So i have to slam the item around walls and stuff for 10 minutes until its facing the direction i want and then try to put it on the table, and that alone, depending on the item, its a pain in the ass already. -
loled at the progression of your problem haha. Well, have fun now! :D

I want to try to make my quest mod already :(

lol, i had 3 goats pissed at me for no apparent reason. Since they dont have attack animations, they just stand there, looking angrily at you lol

Well no, for a lot of things. Things like content, rather than pure coding, are independent of the platform. It is the same to edit an armor value in a PS3 as it is on a PC. Even so, i bet they have their tools coded and their work organized in such a way that once the low level stuff is done, everything above that is platform independent and can be developed for all platforms at the same time. So no ones has the task of doing something for PC, while other is doing exactly the same thing for xbox 360. On multi platform titles im 100% sure that its a very high priority of the dev team to avoid those situations. The lower the level they make stuff stop being platform dependent, the more time they can save for general stuff like level design, texturing, modeling, and whatever comes afterward. If say, instead of using .nif for the meshes, they use a dedicated format, dealt with differently on each version of Creation engine, for each platform in a way that better utilizes each platform strengths, the work of modeling would triplicate (and thats just the designing phase, each step afterwards that depends on that would need to be triple checked for consistency between each platform, and so on). If they can just get by with less effort, they will. The only big reason for sloppy work is Bethesda. Really. Well, there exists the very slight tiny chance that the compiler they used couldnt output working machine code using SSE2 with their (valid) code in C++. But in this day and age, the chances are that if it that was the case, Beth's code was crap from the beginning rather than the compilers fault.

Install Skyboost. Then watch the magic.
-
I always play first with a nord assassin (their natural strenght and endurance in Oblivion helped a lot). Then maybe breton, redguard, or khajiit.
-
And go to the settings tab of your IDE and turn on the SSE2 flag! :P Anyway, +1 to this. Now you know why Beth is specially concerned in bringing mods to consoles, so they can spent even less time fixing bugs and let the community do that.

Egyptian? Primitive? Do you see argonians building massive structures like Mayans or Egyptians? Hell, do you see argonians dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of mathematics, geometry and stars? I find this very badly thought. I mean, just think bout it. You're speaking very badly of two very big civilizations right there by calling them "primitive".

lol, very nice. Sadly Beth almost pulled a lolcat thing with their involvement in the Thalmor. *moons dissapears* Khajiit: "WE HAS NO MOONZ!" *moons returns* Thalmor: "WE DID IT BIACHS" Khajiit: "PRAISE OUR LORDZ!"

So what I think may have happened to the Dwemer
eltucu replied to Sabi's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Maybe plot hole right there :P But yeah, you have a point, "mastery" per se no. That said, Elder Scrolls are aedric artifacts after all, and maybe follow aedric will. I guess that Aedra would have a reason for not to uncover what could happen if the Dwarven messed up the Heart, after all, Lorkhan isnt the most beloved among his peers. -
This. Our friend is watching us... all the time... in every place...
-
I said it once, and i'll say it again. If Obsidian could take in account all possibilities with New Vegas, Beth can do it too. The only bad thing we got out of New Vegas dialogue was the "Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter" line lol
-
Maybe the Eye of Magnus its actually an artifact of the scope of the Heart of Lorkhan. The Psijic order may want to prevent another Tribunal/Dwemer extinction situation. Its a bit of a stretch, but maybe they didnt wanted to take part in the war for the Heart of Lorkhan, watched what happened, and now they want to act differently. Or maybe... just maybe they're friggin bastards that dissapeard with my shiny godlike powerful ball and DIDNT TOLD ME WHAT THE FCK IT WAS DAMMIT. Heres hoping for a (proper) DLC dealing with the situation.

roflmao, how did you discovered that? In Skyrim, the dragonborn is so charming that, when a thief tries to rob him, he can rhetorically ask "Do i look like i have any money?" in a such convincing way that the thief will be convinced that he doesnt, even if the dragonborn is wearing a set of armor valued in 15k gold coins.
-
It aint a bug, the Dragonborn suffers from schizophrenia.

After learning that Astrid forbade the 5 tenets i was starting to regret not choosing killing her instead. And yeah, 98% sure that the 3 of them were contracts.
-
60. Then khajiit needed to use the litter box.
-
In god mode i think you dont recieve any damage at all.

Bashing, what bashing? Please, quote it if you can. One of the steps for not creating a good ambient for trolling is avoiding pointing fingers to anyone for no reason.

Not exactly like that. Think something like YouTube's Partner program, but, once you chose to become a partner, Beth puts a price on your mod. Like they said, not every mod has to be on Steam, and some mods on steam will be free (we dont know if part of them, or all of them, they didnt said). Complex mods arent exactly small and the hosting must be paid. And i dun see steam saying "Here is your page, whatever the site earn from the ads it will go to you, and with that you pay us!" That doesnt works. Well, actually it works, but it would be too nice lol Im looking more at a situation where Steam offers the site, the servers, keeps whatever they earn from the ads (if there are ads, i dunno how the workshop will work, maybe just Bethesda ads), and Bethesda makes the whole thing in a way that earns some money for them and Steam.
-
Yeah... At least for the first 30 days. /joke hahaha, nah, the Creation Kit will be free, and we know that mod authors can choose if they want to upload their stuff to Steam or not. We also know that there will be free mods in Steam Workshop (in case you want to use that instead of Nexus or simply the mod you want is only on the Workshop). What we DONT know if there will be mods for sale in the Workshop. Im saying that probably yes (i dont see any other reason for going through the trouble of making the CK function with the Workshop, and i dont digg that "its just for having a simple way to download and install mods" It seems too much hassle for very little in return, for Beth at least), but nobody knows for sure.

ROFLMAO haahahahhaha best glitch ever! hahahhaa I'd totally play like that. Eh... Try to disable then enable your char from the console (i dunno if it is possible).

I wish they dedicated more time on that stuff. The mercs are nice but they're always 3 mercs for robbing someone. And the Dark Brotherhood if you kill someone. Once, i was running back to Riverwood. All happy when from nowhere a Dark Brotherhood assasin appears and tries to kill me with dual swords. Tough fight, killed him, and trew his body on the river. 100m or so after, i enter Riverwood and, suprise! 3 thugs waiting me inside. They try to kill me (the guards DONT help at all, WTF, attacking me in middle of the village and they do sht), another, even tougher fight. Killed them, and trew their bodies to the river. That said, i think that was the most hard part of the entire game on that character lol (on expert, 170hs till i decided to start over), i was low level, like 15 or so, light armor, no blocking, just dual wield swords.

Not counting that the single being with the capacity of being the most powerful, other than the player, in the entire game its a Khajiit. J'zargo can level up until lv 81 (every skill at 100). Every other follower stops at lv 50 or before. That said, i dun think that the game assings dinamically perks to the characters as they level up.
