  1. Oblivion will not display objects that are close to the camera, but this looks a bit extreme. You should be able to fix this with a simple ini edit. Change the following line to a value of 0 like I show. fNearDistance=0.000
  2. Download Fran's from here - http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=268, one of the files is too large for the Nexus. Download BOTH exe files at the bottom of the page. If you currently have Fran's installed, remove it. Run the main Fran's exe, the wizard will guide you thru the options, install the files, and register the bsa files with the game. Run the new creatures and items exe. And anytime you install a new mod, run BOSS - http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/20516//? to sort your load order (LO). LO is the order that the mods are loaded into the game, and is extremely important. For example, if mod A requires a patch to work with mod B, then the patch has to load after both A and B. If you tried to load it first, the game would crash. OBMM- Oblivion Mod Manager. An easy to use utility for installing mods and manually changing load order Bain- The mod installer for Wrye Bash. Similar to OBMM, but way more advanced. bsa- A file format. The game's assets are packed as .bsa files. Some modders pack their assets the same way, while others use loose folders (meshes, textures, etc...). Both are acceptable, but handled differently by the game. Note - Fran's is most commonly used as part of an FCOM install. This is installing OOO (Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul), MMM (Mart's Monster Mod), and Fran's mod together, along with the FCOM Convergence to make them all work together. In this context Fran's basically becomes just a source of new items. A full FCOM setup is rather complicated to install, and I don't recommend trying it till you have a much better understanding of things. I only mention it because most of the info out there assumes you are installing Fran's with FCOM, and as such will be both confusing and useless to you.
  3. Fran's resources (bsa files) aren't loading properly. I can think of 2 possible reasons for this; 1. You missed the other part of the download. The "optional" creatures and items bsa is NOT optional. 2. Or you installed it via OBMM or Bain and did not rename the bsa files.
  4. If you removed all your mods, try this. Open your data folder, and delete the "scripts" folder. Vanilla scripts are packed in a bsa, everything here was added by a mod. Scripts can keep running after you uninstall a mod, because they are tied to your savegame, and can bog down the Papyrus Manager. But if you want to start fresh, i'd recommend a reinstall.
  5. Post your load order with UL installed, hard to find a problem with a working LO. But I suspect that your problem it with the UL compatibility patches. Either you are missing a needed patch, or you have one installed for a mod you don't use. Here is a really good trick for tracking down these kinds of problems; run TES4LODGen. It scans your entire load order and gives a good error log. Hope this helps!
  6. Do you use autosaves, quicksaves, or overwtite existing saves? If so, your saves will eventually become corrupted. Always make new saves, cleaning out the old ones once in a while. If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you may end up losing more than 12 hours of playtime, sorry.
  7. You have more than one issue here. Regarding the purple skies - Purple skies (or water) are normally a shader issue and easily fixed by switching to a lower valued shader. Been a long time since i had to do this, so i don't feel safe offering a walkthru. Google it. Note- i have no experience with OBGE, but i suspect it uses it's own shaders. However, the second issue you describe (inability to check esps) is far more serious. Here is what i suspect happened... You installed All Natural manually, by dropping the entire contents of the download into your data folder. If so, reverting to a backup or reinstalling the game completely may be the easiest way to remove it. Then read the installation instructions very carefully. All Natural will require use of the BAIN installer or a thorough understanding of creating OMODs with OBMM. If you don't plan to use Immersive Interiors, you may want to just download one of the weather mods that All Natural uses and install it by itself, far easier.
  8. A few ideas; You may have another mod attempting to edit the same records, body replacers might be a likely culprit... depends on exactly what you edited. Whichever mod loads last wins. Are you using a Bashed Patch or something similar? If so, try rebuilding it. If not, it may help. I haven't used NMM, but Wrye Bash has a feature called "lock times" that prevents changes to load order. Perhaps NMM has something similar, and you have it enabled. As far as the other mods not showing, you say that you aren't running the game thru SKSE... are they SKSE dependant? The mod moving back to it's previous spot makes sense though, i don't think that the data files option was really designed as a load-ordering tool. And even if it was, if you have some sort of "lock times" feature set NMM would move it back on it's own.
  9. Check the description in the link i provided. You will see that Oblivion, Fallout3 and New Vegas are currently supported, with Morrowind "coming soon". However, you will also note that the file hasn't been updated in 2 years... so Morrowind probably isn't happening.
  10. Check out mTES4Manager, an excellent utility for creating and managing multiple installs. You will only actually install the game once, then use mTES4 to make new clones. It works by renaming files to swap them out, so all your clones are in the same folder. Has a simple UI to switch between them. But do not install the game to Program Files, create a C:/Games directory instead. Program Files is a UAC protected folder, and will cause issues with many mods. To give a quick step-by-step; - If you already have OB installed, follow bben's reinstall procedure, to get a clean, vanilla install in C:Games to start from. Run it to make sure it works properly. - install mTES4Manager. When you run it, it will detect that you have OB installed. Select your new install, and name it "Backup". Never install any mods or other utilities to this clone. Any time you want to start a new clone, start by making a copy of this backup. Never clone a modded game. - Now just use the "Clone" button to make his & hers copies. - You will need to install any mod managers, BOSS, OBSE, and and other utilities seperately for each clone.
  11. One vote against the new homepage layout. I think a good way to implement the new social networking features would be to add a "Feeds" button to the top, alongside "Files", "Images", etc... with the old layout. I usually embrace change, and liked the last site update. But this is a tough one for me. Not only do i strongly dislike social networking sites, but the "Watched Content" feature went wonky for me a few weeks ago (keeps regurgitating old topics). I "fixed" it by unsubscribing to every topic i had ever watched, but it seems to affect the "Feeds" also. Wouldn't be THAT big of an issue but, as a mod author, i don't want to stop watching the topics related to my mods. In the "Watched Content" box it's not a problem because you only see the topic. But the feeds show every post... I would also very much like the option to block the feature where your friends can see your activity. Maybe it's just 'cause i'm old-fashioned, or i might be too paranoid for my own good, probably both, but i really don't want this.
  12. Seems like an issue with a bad reference in your savegame. Since it will load with no mods active, you could try this; - deactivate all mods and load your last save - save the game and quit - reactivate all your mods and run BOSS (i only suggest activating them all at once because they work together on a new game) important note - if you use the unofficial patch, activate it first - try to load the save you just made From what you describe, this should work. Downsides being that you will have to redo any mod-added content, and the rest of your saves will still be borked, but it beats starting over.
  13. If you coc to the "warehouse prefab" cell for weapon racks, you will find that most of them don't work in-game either. Copy/paste them from player homes. But to do this safely you should make your own warehouse cell(s) AS A SEPERATE ESP. If you need more info on how to do this, or why it is necessary, here's an excerpt from a rather lengthy explanation i gave another member via PM.
  14. Sorry, not much experience with OB's shadows. I never liked them, and deemed them a waste of resources. Disabling them in the ini was one of the first things i did. If you still want more performance, i'd recommend dropping them. But for that last little bit of stutter - OSR Edit - just saw the vid, really wish i could help, that looks awful. You should start a new topic with that, so someone with knowledge of the issue might see it.
  15. 4gb DDR RAM is too low to use hi-res texture replacers. The game will only have about 2gb to work with, after the OS and other background programs. Try dropping the texture replacers, WATER, and any other graphical enhancements. Just glancing at your load order again, Crowded Cities and Populated Cities don't sound compatible, and if they are, using them both will require a pretty good PC. Same with the Whiterun mods. You have 2 mods that affect weather, pick one.
  16. You're definately overtaxing your hardware, but here are a few things that will help; Streamline 4gb patch - note, you must have a 64bit OS for this Dedicate a USB device to ReadyBoost - wiki link In your antivirus software, set Oblivion as a trusted application, and set to not scan files on access. Beyond that, there are some good ini tweaks, and lots of performance mods, but this should get you started.
  17. Just to try to eliminate a possibility or two, what are your system specs? The hi-res textures and creature-adding mods are going to need more RAM. The game will want it's max allotment of 4gb, plus 2 for the OS = 6gb min to avoid ctds. Skyrim has also always suffered from memory leakage issues. Not releasing large chunks of RAM before allocating more, until it runs out. To see if this is the case with you, try hitting alt/ctrl/del then "cancel" every couple minutes while playing. This will release those orphaned chunks. If this works, at least you know what the problem is, but i have never seen a fix for it.
  18. Just a thought here. Green Water Fix will likely conflict with WATER, and water does appear in random areas all over the map... Also, you don't mention using BOSS to sort load order.
  19. Sounds like the multi-core bug. Open the fallout.ini, find the line that reads "bUseThreadedAI=" set the value to 1. Right below this line, add this one - iNumHWThreads=2 This should take care of the freezing.
  20. Highlight the esp in question, there will be text at the bottom of the window telling you the mod's status. But it sounds like the patch did not sucessfully generate. Did you get a popup at the end that listed everything in the patch? If not, look for another window hiding behind the main, it's the error log. Should point you to the problem.
  21. It seems that, for many if us, the game defaults to a very low sound level. To fix it, open the SkyrimPrefs.ini, find this line under [Audio Menu] fAudioMasterVolume= Raise the Value to 10.0000
  22. That's a limitation of the game engine, i think the maximum size of a single worldspace is limited to 16km x 16km. They run the timescale so fast to give the impression that it is much larger. Note that you can easily set the timescale via console - set timescale to 10. 10 is what i use, vanilla is around 25, don't go lower than 5 or you might run into weird problems with quests.
