  1. I am going to release my mods on the Nexus and on Bethesda.net. I just want as many people as possible to play my stuff.
  2. Strong has over 1,000 lines of voiced dialogue, which is more than most characters in most other games... Yet, he pretty much says nothing of value and has no character development beyond 'I don't like things, let me smash'. Somehow with all those 1,000 lines, all you ever hear is the same 3 things over and over and over again. Could you possibly be any less efficient if you were trying? I could be cool with a character that doesn't have much personality like Strong, but once I saw how many lines of dialogue they recorded it just... I don't even know what to say honestly... it is just plane wasteful beyond comprehension.
  3. But if you can't find other games that have done it better, then what can you say? I haven't played all the games out there, I haven't played The Witcher, some people say it is better, I don't know. There is a lot I don't know. But even if one game ever has done it better, can you really fault a game just for not being the absolute best? But I have yet to play any game that really did considerably better. I think Mass Effect 2 and 3 did better in a lot of ways, but not in every way. But then again, I personally think Mass Effect 2 and 3 are the best games ever. Fallout 4 is up there in my top 5 though. *Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy X, Fallout 4, Life is Strange in case you were curious... all of which are very story driven and that is really how I judge my games*
  4. I'm pretty sure that every game that had even minimal expectations of 'choices and consequences' has been strongly criticized by at least a fraction of the fan base for not being good enough in that department. I would think this is because any game that does offer choice is really just offering you a facade of consequences because from a production aspect it would be impossible to ever make all your choices actually matter. So I agree with you on Fallout 4 being that way, but I would also carry that over to Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, Mass Effect, and the long list of other games I have played and enjoyed that had choices. I really enjoyed Fallout 4, vanilla, and played it every chance I got for the first 80 hours of the game. I personally only play games for story anymore and haven't played any shooters since Mass Effect. I mostly just play indie titles and such, looking for creative new ways to tell a story. The only other shooter I enjoy would be Mass Effect, for the same reason I like Fallout 4. I feel engaged in the story.
  5. Has it's disadvantages though. Less dialogue options with voiced and wheel. Have you actually tried all the different options in the wheel to get the appropriate replies? Guess not. Even if you outright insult the one you're talking to, they say something like anyway and continue the one and only option they have available. You should try it - all the options. They always come back with the same reply. I'm not a big enough enemy of voiced characters to say it's garbage, but it's obvious that it offers less in terms of diversity. There are of course a few exemptions in scripted events. The ones where you get the yellow, orange or red. But usually the system falls flat compared to previous titles. As had to be expected, since voice acting doesn't come cheap. You are talking about a totally different subject now. If you are going to talk about a totally different subject, please don't quote me. I am a big supporter of having less dialogue options so that each and every dialogue option can be made unique. Quality over quantity is key. A lot of the time in my writing I only use 2 or 3 of the options, because less is more. I agree with you that having all the options go to the same thing is bad, but that is in no way the fault of the interface, it is the fault of the guys writing it. I really, really like having the short answers as opposed to having to read out the whole thing. A also really like that they got rid of the clunky scrolling through dialogue options.
  6. I like the new dialogue wheel much better than Fallout 3 or New Vegas. The older system felt very clunky, the new system feels more smoothly integrated into the flow of the game. Did they do as well as they could writing for it? Not really. But I hope to see this kind of dialogue wheel in all future games.
  7. My favorite game in the Fallout Franchise. I hope Bethesda continues in this direction.
  8. My computer is below the minimum specs for Fallout 4, yet I have played the game for well over 100 hours on maxed out ultra settings without problems with lag at all. I am currently creating mods on that same computer. PC specs are made up by companies that want you to spend more money on your computer than you actually need to.
  9. There is no popular consensus of what even makes an rpg anymore.
  10. My character was very under powered through the entire early game. I picked my SPECIAL stats and perks purely to scavenge and scrounge anything and everything from around the world. I basically took on the idea that I had woken up in this strange new future and I was trying to gather together all the resources possible to help me survive. So I grabbed up lockpick and hacker ranks as soon as possible, then strong back to carry more loot, as well as anything that helped me scrap items or pick up more ammo or get discounts when I went to stores. One I got a high enough level to start unlocking the more advanced building skills, however, I was able to use all the stuff I had hoarded to build some top notch guns. From that point on the game became a lot easier. I still get 1 shot killed all the time because my endurance is 2 and I don't wear any armor. But I can also 1 shot kill most of my enemies with my overpowered weapons. I don't wear power armor because it makes the game go from frustratingly difficult to the most insanely easy thing ever in a matter of 3 seconds. Also I would rather hoard those fusion cores in case I need them for one of my Gatling lasers.
  11. As far as 'Prime' super mutants go, Fallout 1 uses that term a lot. But I have never heard 'Primus'...
  12. "The Illinois license plate bolted to ED-E's side is just one more fact that supports the idea that other Enclave outposts or holdings still exist elsewhere within North American Wastelands." "Supports" as in gives credence too or provides evidence of. Vague? Maybe. But "outposts and holdings" are both plural, as in more that one. And one or more than one, the implication is that they are there. But @TeamBacon, it takes an open mind to see evidence which contradicts a strongly held belief. So I completely expect you and @CinderMuffin to hold onto your beliefs. Such is life. I have no beliefs on this matter. I am just stating that the evidence on the matter is inconclusive. I'm simply looking at the logic from the outside, as someone who has not picked a side. So as a non-biased third party I simply don't think a license plate bolted onto a robot in any way proves that the Enclave survived, because I have seen no lore evidence to show that the Enclave bolts license plates onto things... Can't prove they do exist anymore, can't prove they don't. It is all up to Bethesda now to choose what they want to do with the future. The Enclave is enjoying Bethesda Purgatory with the Midwestern Faction of the Brotherhood of Steel and the possibly not dead Sarah Lyons.

  14. As soon as I saw Zanity's name I didn't even read it, so no escalation.
  15. I provided you with a canon document which indicates that the Enclave is alive and living in the American Wastelands and you ignore it in pursuit of some proof which does not exist. But I get it. You want the Enclave dead, and any proof to the contrary is ignored. Anything which differs from what you wish to be true does not exist in your reality. We really do understand denial. Canon says that the Enclave continues to exist in the American Wasteland. Denying this canon document makes all canon documents deniable. So canon no longer exists, and can be denied at any whim. That makes your canon documents just a random collection of ones and zeros and all you proofs are just so much balloon juice. Honestly, your canon source only says that there was Enclave in Chicago at one point in time, but not they they are still around. There is no substantial proof one way or the other, it is left very vague.
  16. Here is our mod request forum. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/3515-fallout-4-mod-requests/ But people usually learn to mod because they have ideas they want to make happen. So don't be surprised if they don't want to stop working on their own ideas to make yours, just because you don't want to learn.
  17. The Nexus is not a competition. Appearing on the Hot Files could no more be interpreted as a competition than my car could be interpreted as a baby sheep wearing rain boots and a poncho... Do with that information what you wish.
  18. So, at the moment I am working on a manageable sized quest mod with multiple short stories, nothing DLC sized or anything crazy like that. The first release will include 3 of the short stories, 12 characters, and about 6 or 7 non-named characters with just 1 or 2 lines. I am not publicly announcing my mod yet, because I feel talk is cheap, and I want to put a video up of my actual progress before I start telling everyone about it. I should have my first quest done by the end of this week, and that is why I am currently looking for a few voice actors to finish off some of the smaller roles. So, at the moment I have 1 minor character and 3 non-named traders in Bunker Hill. - The minor character can be male or female and whatever kind of personality you like, they are just there to progress a plot point and give some information. He/she literally only says 6 sentences in the entire game. - The non-named traders can be male or female and whatever kind of personality you like, and they just say 2 sentences. So normally I give my voice actors a whole lot of time to do their work, but in this particular case because it is only 6 sentences, there is no reason a serious voice actor should take more that 1 week to voice act 6 sentences... So the deadline for all of this is going to be July 6th. I have much better roles available for those that are interested in doing something more fun, but I always start people on small roles to make sure they are reliable before I give them main characters. Big roles will be given plenty of time to finish their work, it is only with these small lines that I have deadlines.
  19. Do mod authors even know who donated to them? Is there actually a named list of that stuff?
  20. Everything you have mentioned is either not possible, not legal, or just not going to happen because it isn't worth the time. But mostly the first two.
