Vortex keeps purging when I download and install a mod
Pickysaurus replied to blesch's topic in Vortex Support
We can look at putting a longer timeout on it. It's just how it was originally set up. We used to have a means to send your state file a different way, but that no longer works for users who have big mod lists. -
I can replicate it, but it only seems to be happening for users with massive download histories.
-
It's a known issue with the forum software. I'm not sure what causes it yet.

Vortex keeps purging when I download and install a mod
Pickysaurus replied to blesch's topic in Vortex Support
Apologies I had thought that the instructions were clearer for this. Settings -> Workarounds has the options to export your state as a file. A good way to see what you've put in your setup to cause this would be to reveal the "Mod type" column from the gear icon in the top right of the table, then filter for anything that isn't default/blank. One of these mods is part of the conflict. -
Moved out of the Vortex forum as it has nothing to do with Vortex. If any of the fields you've entered contain emoji characters, remove the emojis. This is a common reason for creating mod pages to fail.

This has been covered in a few other threads. You're so far behind Vortex can no longer update automatically. Install the latest copy over the top of your current install and it'll work

When you generate a backup the notification has a button to save a copy. You can put that anywhere on your HDD. -
dissapearing games from managed library
Pickysaurus replied to davidromero's topic in Vortex Support
Your Vortex install is broken due to a non-standard install location. Reinstall Vortex under the default location (C:\) and it should work. The other option is to try and fix your DLL importing but moving program files off the main OS drive may simply be the cause here. -
We're continuing to make great progress on the Nexus Mods App. Since our last update, we've added new features, improved the UI, and squashed even more bugs. Here's a rundown of what's changed in 0.5.0, 0.5.1 and 0.5.2! Stardew Valley Support - Alpha Release! We've been gathering feedback from modders about how we can best support Stardew Valley for the last few weeks, and now we're ready to release an alpha version for you to try out! The Nexus Mods App is available as an alpha pre-release on Windows or Linux and includes these features: Install mods for Stardew Valley on Steam and GOG (Xbox Game Pass support is coming later). Log in to your Nexus Mods account and download mods directly from the website. Cleanly enable and disable mods in your loadout. Easily roll your game to a non-modded state by un-managing the game or uninstalling the app. Get diagnostic information about common issues in your load order, including: Missing dependencies SMAPI or game version issues Potentially dangerous mod installed (XNB edits) In-app editing of config files (e.g. config.json) You can read more about the alpha release and how to get it here. Please keep in mind that this is a very early release and isn't intended to be your daily driver, but we'd love your feedback on what we have so far! Built-in text editor You can now configure text-based settings files directly in the App. The text editor includes syntax highlighting for a load of common modding formats (JSON/YAML/XML) and even allows you to customise the theme of these highlights with 16 different editor themes. New Prettified Downloads Page Who doesn't love graphs? We've added a snazzy line graph to track the combined bandwidth of all your active downloads and a new "Completed" section to allow you to quickly jump to your Mod Library for mods that are ready to be added to the loadout. Buttons, Toggles, and Menus… oh my! The overhauled settings page is here. You can now tweak all the different settings available in the app from one place. Other changes Mod Library - Each game now has a library which shows all downloaded mods so you can easily add them to your load-outs. Startup message - A message has been added on first loading the app to inform users of the current app status and where to get support. You can view this again by clicking the help icon at the top of the app. Right-click panels and tabs - You can right-click on menu items to open the page in a new tab or panel (rather than replacing the current view). Unread Badges - A count of new diagnostics messages or mods added to the library will show in the left menu until you open that page. Cleaner Loadout View - Game files and overrides are no longer shown in the mods list by default. Unmanaging games - You can now un-manage a game and revert the game back to an unmodded state. Uninstaller - The app now features an uninstaller on Windows and Linux to allow you to fully remove it from your system. Backend database change - A lot of our recent work has been moving the back end of the app to Mnemonic DB. This comes with a load of performance improvements and makes the app easier to build on. Single Loadout - For the alpha build, we've limited users to one loadout per game while we refine the UI. Unsupported games removed - We've hidden any games we don't fully support yet from the UI. No Command Window - The app won't open a command prompt window on startup for Windows users. Telemetry enabled - We're not collecting usage statistics to help us improve the app. For a full list of changes, please check out the "Changelog" tab inside the app or view it on GitHub here.

I'm afraid we don't have much control over this. If the error message comes with a reference code, this means your bank has rejected the payment and you may need to contact them for advice. If it's an error entering your card details, you might be using an unsupported card or you may have browser addons breaking the page.
-
Thanks for posting this here. I've pointed our Vortex devs to this thread and they're having a closer look at your report.
-
If you take a look at the first line of your error, you'll see "C:\Users\Razzl\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\plugins\Vortex Extension Update - Vampire Survivors Support v2.2.2\index.js" which means you have installed it at some point. If it's triggering logic for Stardew Valley there is a fault in the extension. You should remove it and/or report the issue to the extension developer.
-
This appears to be an issue with the Vampire Survivors extension. You can try removing it if you're not currently modding that game.
-
This is caused by the updated Bannerlord extension. An update with a fix should be available soon. Vortex will download it automatically on next startup once it is.
-
This sounds like your PC is blocking Vortex from communicating with the network. Check any security or firewall settings
-
Unfortunately, you can't recover anything easily. Your setup got broken to the point where it isn't recoverable. The only thing you can do is look in the renamed folder and copy across any folders except the "state" related ones. In future, please make your own thread rather than bumping one that is almost 6 months old.

Images/Videos Media tab showing incorrect media.
Pickysaurus replied to Daxtreme's topic in Archived Issues
You beat me to it. That's exactly the problem. Moving an image created as "Hidden" out of that category causes it not to be indexed. The dev assigned to this found that issue towards the end of the day on Thursday. We should be able to put a fix in place for that. -
Migration to the new Bannerlord (BUTR) extension
Pickysaurus replied to insomnious's topic in Vortex Support
We can only provide limited support with this as the extension has transferred to the community. You can comment on the extension page directly here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/875 -
Click the orange text to see the diagram of the issue. Then right-click on the mod nodes you want to have the highest priority.

It's mostly because it's different and I've not looked at mods for unapproved games as much yet. I'll get used to it.
-
It was excluded because it isn't there by default in the forum software. There is the concept of downvoting posts, but it'd have to be a much "lighter touch" than the upvotes as trolls would have a field day.

Games on MO2,won't run since I loaded vortex.
Pickysaurus replied to dochlldy's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
As others have said, you need to provide more info. I've merged in a separate topic you made in the Vortex forum -
Hmm ok, I missed the little "Unpublished" label last time I looked. I'll ping @Happybara so they can take a look on Monday. Edit: Nevermind, I've approved it myself as I was at my PC.
-
I've passed this on. One of our devs will take a look. Can you provide a link to any of the missing images?

It's usually a couple of working days, but we're getting something crazy like 50-60 new game suggestions per month so they get batched up every few days. Each new game requires a bit of research, finding appropriate artwork and verifying the suggested mod(s). This can quickly stack up.
