  1. This is not strictly a FO4 problem....but kind of at a loss here.....so I am yelling in the woods! TL;DR. Question: Not related to FO4 as such (same problem with other games, safe speed 2400MHz). When overclocking RAM to 2933MHz, XMP1 or 3200MHz, XMP2 my GFX card (RTX 2080Ti) becomes unstable. Crashes after 10 min, 30min, 60 min or whatever, highly unpredictable, and no pattern. Any advice on what to check is very appreciated. (Temp ok, mem use ok, no overload anywhere, latest drivers, all the usual stuff, and yes, have been searching all the nooks and cranny's of the net). Just thought I should ask, some of You cats know pretty much everything..... :) Observation: When I am able to run at 3200MHz on the mem there is a huge performance diff in FO4. I run a heavily modified game with Fallout 4-76, Endless Warfare (at any given point in time I have everything from 0 to 50-60 enemies trying to kill me) and several other heavy mods. Maybe it is because of my AMD Threadripper, known for being mem sensitive. Just an observation. Long version: PC specs: PSU: Corsair AX1200i Motherboard: MSI MEG X399 CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X at stock speed (tried overclock, no diff) CPU cooler: Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360 RAM: G.Skill F4-3200C14-8GFX (64GB in total, all slots populated). System drive: Samsung 970 NVMe 512GB FO4 drive: Dual Samsung 970 NVMe 1TB drives in RAID0, (synthetic read speed 6.5 GB/s, nominal large files, 1.5GB/s, nominal mixed 850MB/s) I obviously didn't build this system to run FO4, but moved my FO4 installes from the old system. The system runs rock solid at 3200MHz when running work related workloads (virtual machines, computational task et al). And, it is rock solid when running wPrime or Prime95, no problem with temp or anything. >The CPU therm throttles as expected, everything works as it is supposed to do. Kind of stumped here, been trying everything, nothing helps. Tried different combinations of Ryzen Master settings, cooling, clock speeds, checked everything regarding the RTX 2080Ti with EVGA X1. Corsair LINK4 reports 6-700W at over 90% efficiency at max load, disk run around at slightly above room temp, nothing seems wrong. All and everything of advise is appreciated...... Been searching all the sites and forums I know, feel like a Damage Case here (to quote the God that is Lemmy) :D
  2. When using NMM You need to make copies of four folders to get a complete backup: 1 - Small configuration directory C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Fallout4 2 - Save games, ini-files, log files F4SE, MCM, Better Console etc C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 3 - NMM-directory (NB! The path where You installed NMM, for example) C:\Program Files\NMM 4 - FO4 install (NB! The path where You installed Steam, for example) C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4 Backup those folders to a safe place before playing around with parallel installs.
  3. @RedRocketTV Do'h, how could I forget that big Spaghetti in the sky! :D @GerhardReinke1 Making copies of FO4 on Your own PC connected to Your own Steam account is not a breach of the TOS, at least in my neck of the woods. I have no idea how dual accounts would act on the same PC, but making a copy of those four folders literally takes 10min, and saves You the bucks for a second, and unnecessary copy of Fallout 4.
  4. NP, I have total control of all my FO4-installs, I know every little byte that flows pretty much everywhere. I think that given that you are fresh in this tech nightmare called FO4, and not an anal retentive geek like me, it is probably a safe bet to listen to you, not me! :D :D Anyway, cheers mate, and as always, your mods is on my "must-have-always" list, and for all those reading this thread...by the love of Baphomet/Pazuzu/God/Jesus/Buddah or Elvis, check out the Player Homes of the Rocket TV that is Red!...........
  5. I stand corrected  while I personally prefer NMM above all other managers, my very personal choice..... As for the "the general choice" I have no opinion. And if RedRocketTV recommends some other manager, I would listen to him (if you do not have a preference). Edit: I have a long and convoluted description on how to switch, posted that on a chat to some of my friends on Nexus. Can post it here if it is interesting, probably gonna fcuk up some TOS or shite, or PM me.
  6. I agree with Moksha8088 on this, OAR and PV have excellent followers. I have a save game with seven followers and not using any follower mod. One standard slot (be it Piper, Cait, Ivy, Blood Rose or someone else), Heather and then Valkyrie, Fiona, Sarah, Synth Nora, Synth Glory (from OAR/PV). Haven't tested with more, the "combat" AI in FO4 goes a bit pear shaped with those seven..... IMHO the best follower over all is Heather, but the OAR/PV ones is not far behind......
  7. Depends on what You want to achieve? It is not (that) complicated to run totally different installations of FO4 and NMM given that You don't mind using a bit of disk space and can use the same Steam account for all installs. As of writing this I have 11 (yes, eleven) different and totally different installs of FO4/NMM, it requires a bit of PC knowhow and a steady hand switching (You can royally fcuk up your install if You don't know what you're doing)).....and did I mention that disk space  FO4 and NMM is totally "bound" to four folders, of You use the same structure for all installs (and don't have NMM or FO4 running while switching), it is just as simple as renaming folders.
  8. In principle, in general, and in practise HadToRegister is absolutely 100% correct. Do not fcuk around with mods unless You have a backup-system or some way to roll-back. I have added and removed a metric ton of mods without problem, but always had a backup in case things goes pear shaped, and they do....often.
  9. Cheers man, it's been a while.... time flies! :D :D I have given up a long time ago trying to understand how that FO4-engine works. When I built my new box I deliberately chose parts that makes it possible to monitor pretty much everything from the power connector in the wall to the frames per second. Regarding FO4 there is no logic. The system can be at practically no load at all, and FO4 still runs like a tired old donkey! Be happy that You got some more oomph, and sacrifice a Brahmin to the god of gfx-engines (I think his name is Todd, heard a rumour that he did a piss poor job with F76....  )
  10. Very good for You that thing is running smoother, that is actually very cool! :D As to why, who knows, Beth did not do shite. I transplanted my entire install to a new box ( RTX2080Ti, Threadripper 2950X from dual GTX980 in SLI, Intel 5960X), and it changes fcuk all apart from one thing: Going from 4GB VRAM on the 980 to 11GB VRAM on the 2080TI means that I can load a lot of the mods in the same game that I couldn't before. Didn't build the new box to play FO4 anyway, so it is just an observation.
  11. He specifically say he's been following Gopher's instructions before without issues, and now have problems. Assuming he actually did follow said intructions, recommending the latest NMM is a perfectly valid advice.
  12. I think there is a bit of misunderstanding. The method referenced here (Gopher's video) is NOT for installing the loader and dll's with NMM. It is for installing the scripts (pex files). I've been doing this for a long time with no problem, atm on NMM 0.65.10 (from github) and game version 1.10.106. @KeithTough, don't have any silver bullet apart from trying the latest version of NMM (0.65.10, github-releases: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/releases )
  13. ^ ^ ^ This! Workshop Ownership and Attacks by SKK, saved my sanity many times when missions glitches out, or if I'm just tired of jumping through the same hoops again and again.
  14. You may also take a look at Endless Warfare, it's an old mod and it don't work in FH or NW, but I use it a lot alongside Combat Stalkers (mentioned above). For scaling I use NPC Level Scaling.
  15. Sounds like something may be wrong if it crashes when trying to use more than 4GB, on my system the Fallout4.exe process can use anything from 4 to around 8GB RAM (usually maxes out at around 7.5GB with my current setup). This is with Win10 x64, 32GB RAM, and using Windows Performance Monitor to check the "Working Set - Private" counter for Fallout4.exe. I have not done anything special settings wise (afaik).
  16. I've never seen any system or in-game effect of the VidMem-setting in enblocal. No matter what I do. So for what it's worth, I have the same experience,

  20. In response to post #54751523. #54751793, #54752598, #54752778 are all replies on the same post. And you need better whatever.... The point is not those who know, those who can. The point is, those who CAN'T, how do we help them. Instead of being snide, how about helping those who do not have a clue. My 2 small dollars.
  21. In response to post #54751523. #54751793 is also a reply to the same post. OK. I am going to this in a structured manner: 1. The new page can in no shape or form be in accordance to WCAG https://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/wcag 2. I had a conversation with one of the screenshot gods (and he is realy, relay good) , and asked why the comment and endorsement section was switched off. He didn't know, he uploaded through the old interface, it seemed to work then. 3. There is no consistent (never mind the functionality) experience, I sometimes hit the "old" site, sometimes the "new". 4. There is in no shape or form any indication or information on what is going on. I am on the new or old site, I am posting/talking in here or there. I fully realise that we are all a bunch of anonymous names, pictures, handles on this site (and a potentially a bunch of liars). But I do actually care about this site (hence my renewal), I want it to be good, please ensure that so is happening. I can also claim to be this and that, in the end it don't matter. Suffice to say, I've been working with this kind of roll-outs for 25 years. Believe or not (I do not care), that is where my comments is coming from. (Apologise for English snafus as is it not my native tongue.)
  22. You are so off the bat here that it is just laughable. No user test (for those who can't handle bright white or huge shifts in colour flips)- Uploading of shots, not able to comment, not able to endorse. ....unless it is uploaded via the "old" site, then it maybe works. This is amateur night..... What the fcuk am I paying premium for?
  23. Another solution to the same problem (god, I hate that puzzle.... :) ) https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14077/?
  24. I use (and have been for a very long time) the following in my startup script: set timescale to 6 setgs fFastTravelSpeedMult 4 On different char/play troughs from lvl 1 to 150-160. Never had any problems. But, to quote RedRocketTV - "YMMV" :D

I agree with Crimsomrider, this is pretty bad. I welcome innovations, and new thinking. But if I may be so frank, I question the overall thinking behind the design. It is very "noisy", there is to much compressed into a little space. I also question behind the choice of colours, f.ex. the "update button", with a glaring white background is not a good choice. May I suggest looking at WCAG. Will we adjust, yes of course. But good is it not.
