Weight lifting is something I used to enjoy doing. I'll take your advice and just work on myself. To hell with everybody else and what they think.

Sure, in a Fallout world that's the formula for a fix I suppose. RW there's problems with that scenario from multiple angles and many, many people will tell you so loudly. I pity anyone creating anything anymore since it's impossible to predict/gauge public reaction. Once upon a time Hollywood made Westerns and everybody liked them.

Been searching for something I lost this last year or so. The problem is I couldn't figure out what "it" was. Turns out it was my confidence all along. Not just my confidence in myself or abilities, but confidence in the people and world around me. For instance I still know I can do certain personal things well, whereas with too many other things to list I am constantly second guessing myself where I never did before. Am I imagining things or am I not alone? Has everyone lost their confidence?

I have a friend that really loves anime film/games. I know next to nothing about anime since I never really got into it (slowly am but still noob). I can' t ask them anything because I want it to be a surprise and I need it to be something I can buy and send through the internet. She has told me that her collection is extensive. This is what she's mentioned as faves: Cowboy Bebop, the original full length Ghost in the Shell, Akira, this one-off, really obscure 70s noir styled OVA called CatBlue Dynamite.. some of the Fate and Hellsing stuff is pretty good. Help?

Plenty of guides for getting started modding FO4. Gopher vids are what I started with. Then GamerPoets- https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/19310349?tab=user+videos

Conflicts. Sorting your LO is only the first step to resolving as many conflicts as possible. Patches made by the author or others is the second step. Third step is you loading your game into X-Edit and seeing exactly what is missing, broken, needs to be cleaned or is conflicting still and fixing these issues as best you can. Keep in mind that MA's aren't perfect and make plenty of mistakes all the time- so it's a good idea to read through the mod thread to see what others have been reporting about issues. Always a good idea to learn as much about making patches as you can if you intend to mod games for very long. Making your own also means that you can keep mods you might otherwise trash.

[Question] How to set a perks Pipboy animation?
Fkemman11 replied to TheJollyKraut's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Download a perks replacer mod from here and see how it's put together. That's how I learn. Chances are excellent that whatever you want to mod in Beth games has been done by someone else before. -
Just wondering if anyone ever figured out a way to patch all those conflicting navmeshes from different mods or not. I know how to patch just about everything else with x-edit, but not this one. The only options I've found are to fix them in the CK or actually in game with a mod I just found (and don't trust to work right). Besides from my understanding, npcs from mods are assigned routes on specific navmeshes and when they are gone, they get stuck and there is only so much one can do to fix them. Or does their pathfinding correct for any of this? Anybody? How do navmeshes actually work?

What MM you use? You can also do it manually.

I thought about trying to make a mini-games mod. For one I wanted to use the vanilla bowling assets to make a playable mini-game with your companions. Also wanted to do something with the pool tables. I quickly realized that this was simply beyond my abilities right now- far beyond in fact. But I would be as giddy as a child on Christmas morn if someone made these into a mod. Still, blackjack is a great start.

Nah. Pseudo science shatters like cheap glass against the hard surface of proven fact- and there is no way to avoid that collision either. Now how many lives will be upended by such an event is another story. Render to Caesar what is Caesar's; and to logic your unquenchable thirst for truth.

Not a very eloquent title I admit. But it is a very apt expression from a bygone age. What it means, simply, is to reject the favorable with the unfavorable. Who and what it affects is everything and everyone. In the past, it was widely considered sound, sensible advice on what not to do when the urge arises. Hence the full saying "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater". However, it can also be argued that it may be the most sensible approach to what many may view as "dangerous" or liable to cause much more harm than any benefit. Perhaps, in a final analysis, it may simply mean to leave all options available because you never know where things might end up (another widely agreed upon "truth"). People achieve things through the use of tools. Not just the utilization of existing ones, but also the development of new ones. The old tools are used to make the new tools and somewhere in the development and usage of new tools, the old are consumed, put away or discarded entirely. A tool is, unlike it's rather simple definition, anything a person can use to change or influence their environment. In this context, I am focusing on ideas. The anatomy of an idea are the means used to express it- words, music, art, ect. Words can hold intrinsic power because of their (agreed upon or believed) meaning and to this point are the most efficient method expressing thought or conveying meaning. Meaning is understood through the images words bring to mind- i.e. I say "flower" and your mind should conjure an image of what I mean. If I say "a flower on a hill", then your mind should show that image and you might have a feeling of peace while imagining it. If I say "throw the baby out with bath water", then my goal is to illicit feelings of rejecting that image. Follow me? Now if I say "Throw the baby out with the bath water on the flowery hill", then you might think of it in that setting. This, a poor example I admit, is guilt by association. In other words, adding anything to that image in your mind might cause you to associate one with the other in ALL instances. Where from now on when you hear the words "hill" or "flower" you might also see the "baby" and have negative feelings about it. Guilt by association is a powerful and destructive concept. If a person states or does one thing to upset you, regardless whether intentional or not, and depending on how strongly you felt, is it wise to dismiss anything they say or do after that? To even refuse to listen or "see" them? Is it wise to dismiss their friends as well? How about an entire group of people? Where does it end? Opinions?

So I've heard. I'm sure plenty of people have said war is impossible until it's upon them. China is catching up to America fast in military power and technology. Quantum Computing? China has invested heavily in it's research and development and that alone would give them a huge strategic advantage letting them hack even the most secure systems......in seconds.

Stagnation is always followed by decline and then death in the natural order. We have no goals that would unite people- like exploring and colonizing the galaxy and beyond. Surviving to make a bit more money and live with more modern comfort is just making everyone lazy, fearful, bitchy babies. Hell, even a global pandemic isn't enough to unite people. Rather, it seems to be having the opposite effect and any structure with a rotten foundation is doomed to collapse eventually. The instinctive inclination is to tear it all down and start over again......in short, war and anarchy for a time. Don't misunderstand me, I don't want this. But, I also see no other way. When a forest burns down, it creates the fertile soil for the next generation.

Wish I could find a place to take all my old stereos, tvs, and computers that would recycle them. I hate to just take them to the city dump. Isn't there money in that kind of thing?

Tried playing an mmo for the first time a few days ago and, damn, I was getting threatened and killed almost immediately! I turned chat off since I don't have a mic and I was just there to get a feel for the game. Should I have at least said "hey" or something? I'm not butt-hurt or anything since I know it's just like that, but, why do the mods just let it go?

Yeah, but, do we really wanna go to war with China? Personally, I think that is a BAD idea. (though I expect it to happen in the not-so-distant future......) I agree. But, they're not leaving us much choice since they challenge us at every turn. Course they'll be fighting drones for the most part when things go down. Yeah, but, do we really wanna go to war with China? Personally, I think that is a BAD idea. (though I expect it to happen in the not-so-distant future......) They have a millions man Army, however they are worthless on the other side of the world. USA still owns the Oceans. and the Skies. If we ended up in an all out war it would last a little longer than Desert Storm 1. If it is inevitable, its better to do it now than later because it would mean less death. As far as I'm concerned China has already declared war. Seems that way. At least we do have advantages like u say, but they're catching up fast (mainly by stealing tech).

If we make it through this without sparking WW3, I'll be amazed. People always want a scapegoat and there is so much finger pointing going on now........

Cool! So does relativity basically mean that everything is moving relative to something else? But if everything moves relative to something else, then does that mean there is no center? Or would the center be something with the strongest gravitational field? Like does the sun move, or is it sort of a sovereign body that influences everything else within a certain distance from it? I wonder if there are currents in space (and time) the same as there are with the ocean? What's most interesting to me is when scientists do finally start to experiment with something like teleportation, will they discover that there is actually something more to humans and animals than their matter?
-
So space is more like a fabric, huh. What the hell is space made out of I wonder. I mean it would have to be universal. Folding space was an interesting idea I read about in one of Frank Herbert's books. Knowing a set of coordinates here and calculating the coordinates of where you want to be. But I didn't understand the mechanics behind it. I don't think faster than light travel is possible, but a sort of teleportation seems very plausible. When you drive your car, are you moving or is everything else?

If your point is that I'm ignorant, then yes- I am. That's why I'm trying to learn.

Which formula are you looking for? Trying to solve the time difference caused by a difference in relative velocity? Kind of what they discussed here as a "God" formula or the formula for absolutely everything in the Universe. It's something, like said in the vid, that Einstein and other physicists have always wanted to solve. What is mentioned is that time is malleable in two ways (I think), one is relativity based on position and velocity, the other based on gravitational influences. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. Something interesting that he said is that time must flow in a chronological order according to mathematical models. For instance, you may go back in time, but not be able to interact with anything. Also, he says that there may be no alternative timeline and that you going back in time was already recorded (or something like that, lol).
-
Nope, still don't get it. I understand the relativity sort of, but I'm just not seeing the overall formula.
-
You almost seem disappointed. But, there is a debate about the time standard I mentioned. Okay, this is what I'm trying to figure out- So depending on our position and speed, time can appear to move faster or slower to us relative to others in a different part of space-time. And for astronauts on the International Space Station, that means they get to age just a tiny bit slower than people on Earth. That's because of time-dilation effects.- does this mean that time-dilation could be used to greatly extend human longevity? Also, the Earth does not turn at a constant rate and it is believed that it's rotation is slowing down, so time measurement for the planet must be adjusted every so often. Einstein once stated that the distinction between the past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.- what does that mean?
