This new version is rather poorly designed in many respects, sorry you wasted all that time and money on it. Particularly bad, are the file sections-they all just run on and look the same, its like looking a spreadsheet with overly large font.

The 'new' main page, consists of thumbnail spam. This would be somewhat more tolerable if users could configure what content is displayed. In addition, much of the content is not really that important to merit all that wasted space to begin with. Like others have noted, way too much scrolling involved, and for what? Most of the content is not really of enough interest to justify all those identically sized thumbnails allocated to them. While there may be some actual improvements buried here and there in this re-design, most are hard to find.

Nor is it clear why such huge images are allocated to two 'trending' mods. Now, will be have to look at huge images of the most popular clickbait loli-follower of the week...day? Poorly, made plastic barbie follower mods were\are a problem before that nexus refuses to address, now nexus has gone out of its way to reward them even more. Well played. :ermm:

Naturally, comments such as this will be dismissed and brushed aside in the avalanche of throwaway 'lookzzz awwwwwesome dude' type comments. Its not as if the old layout didn't need improving, not at all. That does not mean that what is on offer now, is necessarily it either.

I totally agree with you.

I will adhere to the two weeks of trial as far as getting used to the layout and functionality. I do have to say where the updates tab is (I guess it replaced the globe notification), the notifications themselves when already viewed, become grayed out and extremely difficult to read.. as in blurry. So much so, that it's already strained my eyes. I can already tell, that's a section I can't seem to get used to.

I wish you guys the best and please keep up the great work.

I do like the look and while It will take some time for getting used to things, I can already tell that new mods that are displayed would be able to get more recognition. Great job on that part.

Gonna have to agree with you as well. It has some awesome concept but could use a little less clutter.

It's not a good look imo. Best to leave it as it is.

The new site is cluttered and not at all intuitive.

I'm getting sick of seeing this "You do it better" argument. You don't have to be a chef to know that something tastes like s#*!.
I'm not saying the new site "tastes like s#*!". I just f*#@ing hate that argument.

I largely concur with all of your points.
In terms of the bimbo mod infestation that Nexus has always been afflicted with.. I recommend blocking their authors. Some time ago I went through the companion/followers categories of both Skyrim versions and systematically blocked all of those authors who have made nothing other than virtual gratification dolls. Now, my front page is blessedly free from such files. Edited by Sonja

Maintaining 2 Designs is a waste of time, because its work, that wont repay in any way. So, the old design will perish some day. And yeah, its always hard to change to something different, and leaving style, used, and attached to, behind. And yes, the new design looks... boring? Just another flat, tile-design, as seen on nearly every other crap-site in the internet the last 2 years.
But i must admit, the primary function of a mod-page is to deliver info. And they come in form of pictures most of the time.
You may explain, what your armor-mod does, how it looks, and where are the belt is attached... but no one will really imagine int. Put a picture on it, and kabooom.
And thats, what this design is made for.
Personally, i would had made some stuff the other way. But i´m not in charge. If have to, and i can, live with that.

Eugh.

HIGHLY agree! I can't make heads or tails of it. not user friendly at all. feels more like a technical programming app rather than a fun place to look around.

would love an option to sticky w/ the old layout indefinitely

I find it VERY amusing that a lot of the people in favor of the new design have less than 100 posts, some even less than 50 posts. The new design is a complete mess, uses more memory, and hurts my eyes to the point that I can't even evaluate it fully.

PLEASE for the love of god, give us the option to use the old design if we so choose.

I'm not saying the new site "tastes like s***". I just f***ing hate that argument.

Indeed, 'arguments' like are not intended as actual, well, arguments at all. They are thought-stoppers, intended, at least such posters hope, to simply end any further discussion. The proposition do it yourself if you dont like, it or variants are simply strawman arguments, or logical fallacies if you prefer. Anyone using that argument, should be dismissed out of hand. For example, I submitted feedback on what was wrong witht he old layout, and guess what? Not one of my points was even remotely implemented in nexus 2.0. That was the extent of my involvement, and that was voluntary at that. Does this mean I should I make a new nexus myself because this one missed that mark?

I had noted this as well, but didn't raise it my main post. A lot of throwaway accounts singing the new sites praises, usually with 2 or 3 word comments. No doubt the site owner will focus on such considered, quality comments like, 'looks gr8t! 'from pump and dump accounts with 50 posts. I can see a lot of confirmation bias being mined from such posts.
