Site redesign - sneak peek - part 1

I guess its okay. Though I hardly spend much time on the homepage to begin with, so even with this new one, I doubt it will be much different for me. I also already check and read the news, so that's really not going to change for me either. I do think it is nice the favorites are returning. I currently use it for Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind, because I switch between playing all three and modding them.

I'll be more interested in seeing what the mod pages and mod search will get redesigned to look like. I do hope there will be a list view option for when searching for mods at least. That's much easier for me to find what I'm looking for (like the flat option that's here for mod searches now). I suppose the profiles are another thing I'm curious about, and the tracking center, downloaded mods, etc, but obviously I'm going to have to wait until something is ready to show.

This is the first I've heard about it?

These are the news I found about the redesing of the site... It's been a while and have been announced in every step.

If I may make a suggestion, I would like this site has a selection of language for your navigation. Nexus has an international audience and I think it would be nice of you to allow users to choose their language of navigation on the site.

It's hard to have any thoughts on this as I only go directly to the game's site that I'm interested in and almost never stop on the main game site at all with absolutely no intention of changing that behavior anytime soon. So I'll just have to wait till I see how the specific game sites will be handled before I say whether I like the redesign or not.

Though I do think that right now that's a lot of space to take up with news posts when news posts are generally pretty few and far between on Nexus and almost never have any images attached to them either. I understand the desire for the news to be more visible but unless there's going to be many many more posts (which might also take some of the impact away from important announcements) then I'd say a section maybe only one row deep is more than adequate.

they should make it optional like armor games did back in the day however they did get rid of the old website after months of bug fixing on the new one. but please dont force us to use a new format the current one is great and has a sense of nostalgia after using this site for years.

I would never infer that the hard work was poorly placed, but Mobile sites generally look like a total mess on a desktop, as far as I'm concerned.

Would there perhaps be a way to make the new designs the "mobile" version of the site, and have the "full site" reflect the easier usage you see on what we're currently using?

I really like the current design and overall, I am just so familiar with it, on top of the fact that I am most certainly not a fan of change in anything, I think the current design should be kept. Though you could add some new functionality to the current design every now-and-then. Cheers! Edited by Grecia300

I really like the new design I see here. It seems to make things a lot easier to navigate and other features are more readily available. I for sure think it is a great direction for the site. I do wish you showed how individual mod pages looked and how the layout there is. And yeah I am sure people will complain but just give them time and they will see that all changes made were good changes to begin with. The old site has not been too stable for myself at times, hopefully this new version is much more stable. Either way I am looking forward to trying it out!

Kudos.

That is very, very true. I do hope that the authors will give us options instead of shoving the new design down our throats.
