  1. Probably wanna use xEdit. Here is a script for it that does it automagically. Have a look there. I haven't done this personally, but, I know FO4Edit can do it. :D
  2. I haven't dug too deeply into this, so, let me ask a couple questions first. :) How does the game decide which effect to put on a legendary item? Is it just random chance? A leveled list??
  3. Wonder if you have some background process/service that is giving you fits......
  4. Merge the two mods. Of course, the more complicated the mods are, the less likely that will go well. :D
  5. They do. There was a period they stopped but that was years ago. The quality or gameplay depth on these is variable so do a bit of research. Everspace 2 - Not played Starpoint Gemini Warlords (or Starpoint Gemini 2) Rebel Galaxy Elite Dangerous - Not played Distant Worlds Universe Star Traders Frontiers Smugglers 5 Avorion X4, X3 etc Star Nomad Pulsar: Lost Colony - Not played Void Expanse Unending Galaxy Endless Sky Sol Trader Some of those look REALLY interesting. :D Thank You.
  6. It might not touch the specific cell, but a location can contain more than one cell. Like the Vault95Location covers the vault and two external cells where the gear door is located (the front of the gear door room is in a different cell from the back of it). While you'd think that wouldn't make a difference, that cells would be isolated from each other to prevent these kinds of issues, it just doesn't work that way. Also, the strangest things can break precombines. Example, there is a blue shipping crate in Parkway Station, in the gear door room for 114, that completely breaks precombines if deleted. Not anything else, just that one box. Now, imagine a mod that removes all blue shipping crates (which I've considered because the damn things are vanilla unscrappable). I remove those, Vault 114 breaks. So you could very well have a mod that alters a vanilla asset that for some stupid reason is included in the precom/previs for a cell, and suddenly you get white void. It isn't supposed to, but the whole system is that fragile, especially in cells that have a mix of precombines and room boundary/portal. What it works out to is that precombine/previs is an interesting optimization solution, but it is so poorly and unevenly implemented that mods can have unintended consequences even if they aren't in the same area. Now that makes a twisted sort of sense...... Are you aware of any way to solve this particular issue? I have been dealing with it for quite some time. :) I just try and avoid looking in that direction. :D
  7. Some of the cut-scenes in wing commander were REALLY funny..... :D Made it far more entertaining.
  8. What they said. :) Also, given that video cards are darn near impossible to find, and even if you can, they are hideously expensive, expect a custom build to be that much more expensive.....
  9. You only have two RAM slots in there, verify how much ram the machine will support before spending money. A lot of 'em will only play with 16gb......
  10. I see a lot of folks requesting such a mod, but, so far, it doesn't appear anyone has done one..... or, at least, not one that is still available.....
  11. Yes, they are selfish, which is why the player needs to get rid of the leadership after "Father" dies. Not all the scientists believe that humanity is lost. They need guidance and a strong hand (and perhaps a bullet in the head of some of the department chairs). Still, their knowledge and tech are needed. There is a mod that came out recently (have not started it yet) where you can actually control the Institute after Father dies. I do not know everything that it can do, but I am looking forward to play it. It's called Subversion https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/50975 I'd go along with that. :D There is project Valkyrie as well.
  12. Looked at the locations in FO4Edit.... and nothing touches those locations.... They are in Fallout4.esm, and that's it..... How bizarre.
  13. I know right? :D For all this talk of "making things better." World was destroyed, by people dropping bombs, and what do people do? Blow stuff up.. Humnanity learned: 0% The institute its self, is just amazing tech and stuff, it's the people in there, who aren't quite right. Yeah, and that will be a problem. (which would make for an interesting plot line...) those prejudices have been built up over a couple centuries. Not something you are going to simply erase overnight. Personally, blowing up the institute is a colossal waste. The MM want to rebuild the wasteland, and who better to help them accomplish that, than the most technologically advanced faction around?
  14. That's because of Sony's policy about "No External Assets"..... So, no new meshes, textures, scripts, etc.
  15. Hhhmmm. Interesting. I get the white wall in vault 95 as well, and so far as I know, I don't have any mods that even touch that area...... and it most certainly is NOT a 'hidden' area..... I also see disappearing structures in various interior cells. Fallons department store, Medford hospital on the second floor, etc. I don't think I have any mods affecting those areas either...... Real curious what that is all about.
  16. At one point, some of the CC content, (pip boy skins for one) was known to cause CTD.... There were a couple of 'em, but, I don't remember the others.
  17. The institute represents hope for the institute. They don't care about anyone else but themselves.
  18. Now there is a project I would LOVE to see come to fruition..... Unfortunately, my skills with the CS are rudimentary at best..... and quests/scripting/etc is well beyond my ability. :D
  19. Boomer goes to 1964 Ah, didn't know that. Thank You. it's not about sensitivity. it's about the message. if you start to use generic phrases that are designed to insult, then you've lost whatever point it was you were trying to make. you may not be aware of this, but that's how it works. I disagree. Sure, it may have been an unfortunate choice of wording, but, the message still applies even so. Yes, but the OP poisoned their own message It would be like Churchill giving a wonderful speech that everybody agrees on, then adds some kind of racial, or sexist, or ageist slur at the end of it. And like I mentioned in my first post, some people are just going to stop reading at that point, some will continue, but why not make a message that EVERYBODY will read? Ironically, the message is for people to be nice, while not being nice to a certain group of people I tend to agree, but, I have also discovered, that of late, it really doesn't matter what you write (type?), it's quite likely someone is going to be offended. It's gotten to the point, that it seems that there is a fairly significant percentage of folks out there LOOKING to be offended by something or other. It's depressing really. Now it reads like: Have some respect for modders. Be nice. Don't be annoying or demanding. Except against boomers, because they are annoying and demanding. I just choose to ignore some comments. It IS the internet after all. :D
  20. The point is, it was completely unnecessary, and would've gone over great, except for that one stereotype/attack. What was the whole point of tossing that comment into the middle of something we would've all agreed on? All it did was sour the message. Also, I find it kind of ironic you saying that, considering you and I are in that age group, and considering some of the topics you were 'offended/sensitive' about Which ones were those?? :) I have strong opinions on some topics, yes, but, being called a 'boomer', sure ain't one of 'em. (Not sure I fall into that category in any event? I am 60....) it's not about sensitivity. it's about the message. if you start to use generic phrases that are designed to insult, then you've lost whatever point it was you were trying to make. you may not be aware of this, but that's how it works. I disagree. Sure, it may have been an unfortunate choice of wording, but, the message still applies even so.
  21. None of those should matter...... It seems to me like the animation is getting stuck, but, none of your mods should affect that. Try verifying game cache thru steam. See if it picks up anything.
  22. Wow.... Have we become so sensitive, that one turn of phrase destroys the entire message?
  23. Files are loaded by date, I think.... regardless if if they are loose, or packed in an archive.
