That's a question that comes up from time to time, I don't think that you can "migrate" NMM to a new machine....... It stores its data in a selection of folders though, and it seems to me that if you grabbed ALL of them, put them in the right spots, (after installing the same version of NMM, and setting it up, so all the appropriate registry entries are there.....) it *might* figure it out....... Do a search in the NMM forum section, see if anything useful comes up.

In Oblivion, you never missed, at low levels, you simply didn't do much damage. I actually preferred the morrowind system over that..... In Morrowind, if your skill was low, yeah, you missed a fair bit, but, once you get your skill to 30-35, you missed a lot less. Also, you had to make REAL sure that the weapon you were using was inline with your chosen skills. A master of short blade could still suck with a longblade. :)

I hadn't heard of this tech before, this is interesting indeed! However, I doubt that this alone could balance out the CO2 being released by the burning of fossil fuels. Scientists have also proposed releasing aerosols into the atmosphere that would have the effect of dimming the sun and therefore slowing the rate of global warming (http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/aae98d), however this only buys us more time to address the cause of it. Personally, I think adding something to the atmosphere to counteract something else we are adding to the atmosphere wouldn't be the best plan....... Too easy to screw it up, and we end up with a MUCH colder climate than intended. It's like the asian lady bugs they introduced here, in order to control the aphid population. They were only supposed to be around for a few years, and then die out. (not their native environment, and all that.) Of course, it didn't happen that way........ So, now we have lady bugs that bite...... If the folks in the southern hemisphere would STOP clear-cutting rainforest at a tremendous rate, it wouldn't hurt us either. But, in the pursuit of money, 'environmental responsibility' takes a distant second place. Just ask Union Carbide. :) CO2 to Fuel.
-
Well yeah, the climate changes due to natural forces too, but nothing like what we're getting due to anthropogenic forces. You're right though. We need to adapt and switch to clean, renewable energy before we all die. There are some other interesting projects in the wings as well. "Carbon Capture" tech has been progressing right along. Pulls CO2 out of the air, and makes fuel. An interesting process. I think Canada has one being built on an industrial scale.

The aim of the agreement is to limit global warming to 2 degrees C, or even better, 1.5. Naturally it won't be perfect but it's far better than nothing. Lots of countries are taking it seriously. Yes, US CO2 emissions were decreasing since 2005, but that won't remain true for much longer under Trump. He's loosened regulations intended to limit the use of fossil fuels, and worse yet, is encouraging further investment into them. Since you brought up China and India, it should be noted that they are still developing countries, so their previously rising carbon emissions were to be expected. As a result of the Paris accords though, they've been putting in the work to stop this. In 2017, India's solar prices undercut those of fossil fuels (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/may/10/indian-solar-power-prices-hit-record-low-undercutting-fossil-fuels), and India is still continuing in this department, building some of the largest solar parks on the planet (https://www.latimes.com/world/asia/la-fg-india-solar-20180319-story.html). China is also leading on this front and in 2016 alone their solar power capacity more than doubled (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-solar-idUSKBN15J0G7). I'd hardly call the agreement useless. Considering climate change is largely caused by us, we can and should stop it. China has a LONG way to go if they want to emit less carbon than the US. I would also point out, that in 2005, and later..... republicans still were in power in DC. Sure, trump is rolling back some of Obamas initiatives, but, that doesn't necessarily imply that co2 emissions are not going to skyrocket.... I don't think your crystal ball is good enough to predict that. (nor is mine....) Transportation is the biggest producer of co2 here in the states..... and fuel economy requirements have kept going up. I don't see that changing. Wanna make a serious dent in that? Get rid of the ethanol mandate for gasoline. EVERY vehicle INSTANTLY starts getting 10-15% better gas mileage. A boatload of land that is now producing corn, will go back to being meadows, and forests. Food will become cheaper, as feed prices will also go down. Emissions will be less, because farmers AREN'T using their equipment to farm that land. Of course, the farm lobby will NEVER let that happen...... The Paris accord was just a global scheme for redistribution of wealth. The US would be sending money to third-world nations, so they could 'catch up' to the rest of the world. China doesn't need the money, their economy is doing better than ours. India isn't doing so bad either. Quite frankly, I see it as a waste of my tax money. Sending money to other countries when OUR infrastructure is in such sad shape, strikes me as outright foolish. Lets get our OWN house in order before we start worrying about the neighbors. Besides, it really doesn't matter what we do, the climate IS going to change. Even if humans weren't around at all, the climate would STILL change. As I said, we can adapt, or, we can die. Those are the choices. That's going to play merry hell with my compass...... :) Not sure how much of an impact it will really have though. Most modern aircraft, (and cars, for that matter) use GPS for navigation, which really shouldn't be affected at all. Some recalibration will be required though..... (for the compass to be accurate. :) )

SSE Skyrim SE linking Encumbrance to Sneak

That's actually a better idea. :) -
Too many bugs for me, and I don't like going back too far in game series...because the graphics are way worse in the early games. That just turns me off. What I would like is Bethesda to remake all the earlier games and redo the graphics up to present quality. Kind of like the Quest for Glory games were all redone and improved graphics and sold as a single pack of games. That was way back in the 90s. Same here, I don't have any "Nostalgia" for blocky 8 bit graphics games etc, I played them in the 80s and 90s because that was the only choice for graphics at the time, now I can't stand to look at them. I loved the old lucasarts adventures, and thankfully some of them have been upgraded with today's graphics, because there's no way I could bear to look at the old ones again I would love for Daggerfall to be brought up to today's graphics, so I could actually play it. The most I played it, I installed it, went into my first dungeon, walked up the ladder to exit and went through the wall inside the world. Quit the game and uninstalled it. Daggerfall was a cool concept, but, execution wasn't really the best. Everything was procedurally generated, and if it screwed up, your game was toast. Of course, you may not find the goof until you had several hours into the game.... then it would crash, and you get the message: "An error has occurred, you must reinstall the game. " The SECOND time I got that message, after many hours of gameplay, I uninstalled it, and never looked back. (still have the discs......) Of course, by that time, Morrowind was out. I really don't wanna think about how many hours I put into that game, and the CS..... :D And the dungeons in Daggerfall were TOO big. Holy smoke. They were HUGE. However, they DID manage to give you a three-d map of the dungeon, that you could zoom, and rotate, as you liked. THAT was a VERY cool feature, and one that I miss in later games. Made dungeon navigation a whole lot easier. Of course, that just wasn't a problem in Morrowind, as the dungeons were one level, with two or three rooms...... :)

GPU overheat/Computer crash on Modded FO4
HeyYou replied to spar117's topic in Hardware and software discussion
Think I would be tempted to unplug all the drives, except the one with the O/S on it, and see if the machine is happier. -
Is it updated enough? Probably not. The multicore thing being right there on the top of my list. Of course, I am not aware of any software that I use on a regular basis, be it games, or MS office, that makes proper use of multicore processors.... If I am multi-tasking, then sure, but, when I am playing a game, multi-tasking isn't part of the equation. Comparing ESO to the Fallout/TES games? Two entirely different directions there..... Also, not modable....... I haven't played ESO, it just isn't my cup of tea, so, not real familiar with it in any event. The "Dice Roll" system in Morrowind was a carryover from Pen and Paper RPGs. You know, when CHARACTER skill was the determining factor, not PLAYER skill. I think the biggest complaint with Morrowind combat was watching your sword pass completely thru your enemy, but, doing zero damage....... Still and all, MW was my favorite TES game. :) As the games progress, with each following game, we see features removed, streamlined, "updated".... but, not all changes are for the betterment of the game. They are so the game appeals to a wider audience, hence, more profit. Some of us actually WANT a REAL RPG. With skills, and abilities, and stats. Unfortunately, we seem to be in the minority, so, game companies aren't real inclined to cater to our wants. :)

Still and all, the US is around half of what China is doing. The Paris Accord was useless. Even if EVERYONE that signed on to it did EVERYTHING they promised, it would only make around a .3 degree difference by 2100. Considering some of the measures would be rather harmful to our economy, it simply isn't justifiable to stay in. Look at what is currently happening in France. Macron wants to bump the price of fuel, to 'discourage' folks from driving. That action has the largest affect on folks on the lower end of the income scale. Not to mention that it will also increase transportation costs for EVERYTHING. Hitting folks even harder in the wallet. Understandably, the folks in France are not happy about it. Also, US CO2 emissions have remained relatively flat since around 2005. Can't say the same for China/India. The fact is, the climate changes. We can't stop it, we can't change it. It IS going to happen. We can either adapt, or, we can die. Those are the choices.
-
Actually, the game engine gets updated for each successive game. The current engine is head and shoulders above what it was originally. I mean, seriously, the original engine was 32 bit, now it's 64. That is a pretty significant re-write. It HAS been updated to take advantage of advances in computer technology, I just wish it could actually make efficient use of more than two cores...... Being able to FULLY use my quad core processor would be stellar. (and the folks with intel quads with hyper threading? Wow.) That would be a major performance improvement.

What is your computer hardware? Will the machine boot into windows again? At what point did the game crash? Had you been playing for a while? -

I am running with the 1060 6gb card, and it runs skyrim/fo4 without trouble. :D -
What version of NMM WERE you using? Quite a bit changed in the early '60's' versions...... The addition of profiles completely changed how NMM worked.

I think Star Citizen is the pinnacle of what is wrong with the gaming industry. That's just a cash cow, and I don't EVER expect it to be released in anything resembling a 'complete' form.

SSE Skyrim SE linking Encumbrance to Sneak
HeyYou replied to Pradallama's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I would be more tempted to base it on percentages. I.E. You can sneak just fine up to 50% of your max carry weight. Then, for every percentage point over that, you lose a corresponding number of points in sneak. I don't *think* that having a skill reduced negates perks....... as there are a fair few potential debuffs in game...... But, no evidence to support that opinion. -

With the i5, I think the 1070 will be a good match. Get as much VRAM as you can on it. (I see 8gb fellers for around 450 on amazon..... don't know if you wanna spend that much though.) -
Worth a shot.... :)

What country are you in? I think the 'next gen' stuff is still awfully new, so, some interesting issues with them. Have you considered a 1070?? -
Browser paranoia. :) On that, I don't know..... I don't really deal with that end of things there.

You cannot be serious. Trump is the biggest narcissist in decades if not centuries who had the pleasure of being POTUS, and his intelligence level barely scrapes the bottom of a fish barrel. The circumstances around his election raise a lot of alarming questions and so do the consequences. Saying he's not any different from other presidents is a gross misrepresentation of facts. How many Possums have conducted foreign policy through twitter messages? How many Possums have threatened other countries with a big red button and when going to negiotate fold without anything to show that his bravado isn't just for show? How many Possums have denied global warming the way he does, even when every expert declares firmly with lots of studies how we are all screwed if it doesn't get stopped in a few decades? How many Possums have White House staff cringe in fear that he offhandedly cancels key defense agreements that are an integral part of the safety of the country without even looking at them? And the list goes on. Just how many? Sorry, but Trump is a tramp, and should never have been let anywhere near with real political power. We have elected Possums for president???? That would certainly explain a lot...... Yes, Trump is an idiot, not the most honest feller, and really needs to stay off the social media....... Still and all, Obama's foreign policy (apologist in chief) wasn't really all that good either. Bush's foreign policy flat out sucked. (INVADE!!!!!) In all reality, it is the democratic party that is to blame for Trump being president. They could have ran ANYONE else but Hilary, and won. (simply for the reasons stated above.....) But no, Hilary bought the party, and then they lost. (and she still made millions off of it.) Folks didn't necessarily vote FOR Trump, so much as voting AGAINST Hilary. And to this day, Hilary is still deluding herself about WHY she lost. It wasn't election tampering, it was folks just didn't like her. (the folks that actually cast the vote that counted.... the electoral college.) Sort of. Truth is stranger than fiction  Now THERE is an accurate statement. :D I note that Billy never really caught on though. Teddy was much more successful.
