Mouse Stutter on 4K Monitor (Additional)
HeyYou replied to RobinHood2005's topic in Hardware and software discussion
Try and update the driver, or, search windows update for the driver. Asus site is being really uncooperative, and all I can find is the multiframe software, it doesn't appear to contain a driver as well, and I simply can't come up with a driver for it anywhere. No clue what that's all about. I don't know if you could simply tell windows what it is, and if it would accept it though...... Seems really odd there isn't a driver available. Maybe email Asus support? -

So it is.... If you check device manager, what does windows think your monitor is? -
Do you think going back to just before exiting the vault would be adequate to the task?

Should really keep this to one thread, but, given you have the information I want in this one...... Find your driver here. Download it, install it, and then check device manager to ensure that windows actually know which monitor you have. (If it says 'generic pnp monitor', it didn't work.) -
New 4K Monitor 2: The Dual Monitor Setup
HeyYou replied to RobinHood2005's topic in Hardware and software discussion
What's the make/model no. of your monitor? -
well, technically I started pc gaming with a timex sinclair 1000 with the 64KB extended ram pack and BASIC coded games on cassette tapes. But I consider real PC gaming to be after the advent of the 3d graphic card. after some extensive reading and youtubing last night I'm just going to uninstall all the in game mods. Will be cleaner and easier to manage with everything in one place. Back in the early days of Everquest I had 5 toons all identical looking named Zathris, Zathres, Zathrys, Zathras, and Zathros =o) Babylon 5 fan?

manufacturer should have drivers available for download somewhere. Now, getting windows to actually USE them can sometimes be fun.... -

Did you get the drivers installed for it? Sometimes, windows 'prug and pray' system mis-identifies hardware. -
Nope. Not an actor. Don't play one on TV either. :) My first marriage fell apart because I was stupid. My second marriage, I really wish I knew what happened. Guess she just found someone she liked better, (or, determined that she *could* find someone she liked better) and next think I knew, she had filed for divorce. I didn't contest it. We even used the same lawyer. I haven't gotten married a third time, nor do I intend to. I have been with my current Lady for about 15 years now. She would *like* to get married, but, due to financial considerations, that isn't likely to happen.

Ok, set up my build areas, moved one of the border tiles, saved, used NMM to activate the mod, went in-game, (existing save, I was nowhere near starlight on that save) and.... no changes. I saved this is a separate esp file, as a 'patch' to Build High. NMM shows it's activated....... assigns it a number in the load list, but, the border tile didn't move, and I still can't build in the area I supposedly expanded into. I basically duplicated the current 'build area', (which got a new name automagically) shuffled it around to where/how I wanted it, (them actually, I used two.....) Moved the border tile that was now in the wrong spot, put it sorta where I wanted it, and saved the plugin. Did I miss a trick somewhere?

-> If you don't get that transformation thing, you maybe selected the wrong object. A mist, maybe, mist markers are always in the way. As for actually making a custom border, what I did last time was building it out of those plane pieces which come with the automatron DLCs, with some tweaks. Rumors are, there is also a tool for generating them in the works... Thank You. I missed that part. Trying to select the correct object in the render window is proving 'fun'...... but, I am getting there. Seriously people, I DO appreciate the help. :D Edit: Is there a way to move DOWN faster with the camera after pressing "T" for the top down view?????

Ok, I can get to the cell, I can grab the bounding box for the build area. I can even move it around, what I can't seem to figure out though, is how to change its shape...... I see dimensions for it on one the tabs in it's properties window, however, I don't want to try and 'guess' what size I really want it to be, by randomly altering the numbers. Is there some way I can just grab and edge/corner, and drag it to where I want it? Also, I am not entirely sure that a 'box' is going to work..... I note that in some settlements, the borders are rather irregular. How do I accomplish that? Multiple boxes?? Can there Be More than One? (highlander reference. )

"You don't have permission to use that feature"....

Today it seems to be working just fine. No clue what that's all about. :D -
Thanks folks. I will likely poke at this a bit more later today. Wish me luck. :D

New 4K Monitor 2: The Dual Monitor Setup
HeyYou replied to RobinHood2005's topic in Hardware and software discussion
That's going to be manufacturer specific. (I didn't even know that was a thing......) Just do a search on "monitor model number" firmware update, should return useful results. Nevermind. I looked up the support page on Asus' website and nothing came up, save for this utility called 'Asus Multiframe'. No clue what that is. Oh well, it looks there has to be another solution to my annoying input lag problem. P.S. I only became aware of monitor drivers not long ago and I found the idea to be strange as well. There is a difference between drivers, and firmware. The manufacturers site should have drivers for your monitor. Otherwise, windows just uses its generic flavor. (which tend to be several years old.....) Firmware gets flashed to the hardware itself, and is basically the "O/S" for the hardware. Without drivers, windows fill figure it out, without firmware, the hardware simply won't work. :D -
Indeed, helps quite a bit. :) Some of it is over my head, but, when I actually go into the CS, it should make more sense. Now, just need to figure out how to put the borders where I want them..... Is there some trick to making the area within the borders 'buildable'? Or does that just automagically happen?
-
I use Build High - settlements expanded, however, it appears the original author, (who hasn't been around for a while.....) didn't do anything with starlight drive in. I would like to shuffle the borders around a bit, but, poking at it in the cs, I have come to the conclusion that I don't have the first clue what to do here..... I can select the border, but, I can only move it on one axis, I need to rotate it, and then connect it with the other borders. Also, I would like to kill precombined objects, and pre-vis ONLY within the build area. (so I can scrap pretty much everything within the build area, with scrap everything.....) The CS wiki is amazingly unhelpful..... guess that is simply because of all the new tricks the cs can do. I just want to learn a few of them. :D

I think Jun suffers from severe anxiety, and depression. Probably come from having to deal with Marcy........ It was an arranged marriage after all. :D

I can't "mark forum as read"???? Really? That's certainly new......

Check the link in my sig. We have classes for skyrim CK, those should carry over to New Vegas, and Fallout 4. More features are added in FO4 though, so, some differences are to be expected. :D

Would this be a good adapter to buy? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Display-Port-DP-Male-to-DVI-D-DVI-I-Female-Adapter-Cable-Converter-Lead-4K-HD/273236580082?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20180816085401%26meid%3Dbc8c422527734c0983dd2be15eff6cfd%26pid%3D100970%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D273236580082%26itm%3D273236580082&_trksid=p2481888.c100970.m5481&_trkparms=pageci%3A2124e399-11d6-11e9-92ac-74dbd180d57b|parentrq%3A242608201680ac8072813140fffffaed|iid%3A1 Holy crap, that's cheap. :) We sell those fellers for around 20 bucks (USD) Different brand though. -
Beth has already pretty much demonstrated that they don't learn anything. They keep making the same mistakes over and over again. The 'fixes' they come up with are half-assed, and tend to break other stuff. I begin to wonder if they are actually a subsidiary of Microsoft.......
