  1. The problem is, they address minor issues, and ignore the bigger picture. There are a LOT of posts saying pretty much the same thing, that have NOT been addressed..... And while the staff may like the way the new quick search works, it appears the general populace, you know, the folks that will actually be USING it, don't care for the pop-up window. (and you can count me among that number.) Sure, you can narrow your results as much as you care to, but, if there is more than one option, and you check one, the window disappears.... and the results are gone. Sure, you can 'quick search' again..... or, you can click on the one of the 'previous searches' in the pop-up window, when then shows your search results in the main page.... Why not just skip that additional hoop jumping, and just SHOW THE RESULTS IN THE MAIN PAGE to begin with???? It's the pop-up mechanic folks don't care for, but, as usual, staff seems to like it, so, what the users want, doesn't matter.
  2. That will never happen. Even when it is patently obvious to everyone else.
  3. Someone in an earlier post mentioned "Advertising Dollars", and I believe that is indeed correct.
  4. Delete your shader cache, and have the game rebuild it.
  5. Ongoing survey results?? Funny, I haven't seen a single survey on this particular topic.
  6. There is a thread for this in the site updates forum, and, I believe, there is another in the site feedback forum. Post there to actually have the folks working on it, see your post.
  7. Then we have the search page.... The popout window doesn't really work that well. I get one round of results, but, If I look at one of the results, the search windows is gone. Never to be seen again..... However, if I use a search term I have used before, I get the results in my browser window, not the search window..... Which is what I much prefer.....
  8. Allowing a couple different themes would be a godsend. Not everyone is vision impaired, and color schemes that cater to that, are just not the best for the majority of folks that are not..... Having the choice of one or two 'high contrast' settings, and maybe a couple 'normal'? color schemes would be awesome. Thank you for engaging with me. I DO appreciate what you guys are trying to do.....
  9. I browse on a desktop computer. Don't push a UI designed with a phone screen in mind. A choice on the color palette for the site would be a godsend. As I understand it, you use variables for most of the color choices?? Is that correct? If so, wouldn't it be a "relatively" simple matter to offer a couple different color schemes? Too much wasted space on the search results. Although, I see that has changed some.... It actually shows a good number of mods. Thank You for that. The colors still give me a headache though. Not nearly as bad as it was, but, still some tweaking needed methinks.
  10. As I said previously, those results really don't jibe with what I am seeing here, on the forums of the site in question..... And yes, I am aware of the absolutely HUGE volume of traffic that passes thru here every day. I am sure it is NOT an inexpensive endeavor.
  11. "Picked for the Survey"??? Really? It wasn't an open poll then? How were the participants chosen? I think it would be rather interesting to run a poll here, in this forum, and see how the results shake out. However, I noticed that any user-posted poll got nuked in pretty short order. Wonder why that is.......
  12. 75% rated it 3-5 stars? Out of how many? 10? I'm sorry, but, I do believe your data is seriously flawed, given that responses HERE, are pretty much universally NEGATIVE. How do you explain that??
  13. Well, theoretically, they use variables for a lot of those settings, seems like implement different themes would just be a matter of adjusting those variables...
  14. I would expect the vast majority of users here are also viewing the site on their PC, yet we get a UI designed for phones anyway......
  15. Oh, I am sure 'things will change', and you folks will make minor improvements, and likely add some features that folks want.... What I DO NOT expect to see, is a way to use the old layout, which was for more useful for folks on PC, showed more information, and, most importantly, MORE MODS, than the current design. Browsing mods at this point is a CHORE, not the the semi-enjoyable experience it used to be. Given the new 'power' of the underlying infrastructure, forcing everyone regardless of what platform they happen to using, to suffer from the same interface, really doesn't go over well. I understand the desire NOT to support two different interfaces, but, the one for PC is ALREADY developed..... is quite obviously FAR preferred by your user base, and would be less effort to transfer to the new system, than building something from scratch, would it not??
  16. Need permission from the original author for that kind of thing. If there are specific mods you would like to see ported, reach out to the authors, ask them if they will do it, and if not, would they give permission for someone else to do it? (and under what conditions.)
  17. But, if they ignore it long enough, maybe it'll go away??? I brought this point up 20 pages or so ago. I didn't get a response from staff, I suspect (and would be heavily) you won't either.
  18. Yeah, that's pretty much what I expect... The lack of response is because they don't wanna give us a flat out "NO!"...... Instead, they just ignore the issue, and will do whatever they want anyway. This wouldn't be the first time for this behavior either.
  19. That is very true, and I suspect your reasoning is spot on. However..... FORCING EVERYONE to use the 'mobile version' just isn't what I consider a "good idea"..... I am still advocating for giving users a CHOICE of which version they wanna use, the new 'mobilized' version, or the old one, that look FAR better on PC screens..... But, as has been the trend in this thread, the staff that DO respond, do NOT say a single word about this possibility. They are only dealing with relatively minor issues with the current version, totally ignoring everything else.
  20. Beth doesn't even HAVE forums any more.... They have their discord, and that's it...... Of course, when they dumped the forums, that also dumped mod comments on their hosting site.... A decision I find highly questionable..... I don't do discord, and I don't care for beths mod hosting, as there is NO indication there of whether a mod does what it is supposed to do, or if there are any problems with it..... I think the devs at beth could screw up a wet dream.....
  21. If you were 'listening to the feedback', you would by now realize that the new UI is pretty much universally despised by the USERS of the site. Staff talks a good game about 'how they are listening to us', but, terribly sorry, if you were actually listening, this conversation wouldn't have gone on for more than 30 pages..... I get that you only work there, and don't get to make the big decisions. I get that you are restrained by what 'the boss wants'..... I suppose, if Robin wants to screw up his site, that's his prerogative, but, please do NOT try and tell us the 'response is overwhelmingly positive'..... The evidence here on the forums tells an entirely different story. You could solve ALL of this hate and discontent by simply offering the OPTION of using the old UI, or the New one. Then this thread could go back to being just for 'tweaks' on the new UI....
  22. There are already ads. I use an ad-blocker though, so, I don't seem 'em. (that, and I *think* "supporters" aren't supposed to be served ads as well..... nor are premium members.) Bear in mind, Nexus wasn't always the juggernaut it is today. There was LOTS of competition at one point. Most of those sites were larger, and better funded than Nexus at the time as well. Please take note whom is still standing, after all the larger companies have faded from the scene.....
  23. And therein lies the problem. Simply do to the size of this place, the folks participating in this particular thread, have all of zero power to affect any change at all. At least, nothing beyond minor tweaks to what we are being force-fed. There might be a couple hundred (being generous) folks in here, but, nexus has over what? 30 MILLION members??? We aren't even a drop in the ocean.... Even if EVERYONE in this thread canceled their premium subscription, I doubt it would even be a blip on the balance sheet. So yeah. Robin can ignore everything we have to say, and be confident that any consequences, will be minor at best, but, most likely, not even noticeable.....
  24. Well, he IS providing a rather nice platform for those mods..... Granted, some features leave a bit to be desired..... No one else has anything NEAR this scale for mod hosting. It is a LOT of work, and not exactly cheap, given the amount of storage, and bandwidth the site eats. The fact that Nexus is still here, after NUMEROUS other sites have come and gone, is a vote of confidence that the site will CONTINUE to be here, thus, it is a good place to showcase your work. I am admin on another mod hosting site, and we aren't anywhere near this size...... We have been around for quite some time, but, don't generate near the traffic this place does.... Mainly because, we couldn't afford the infrastructure for such an undertaking..... Kudos to Robin for managing to not only stay in business, but EXPAND his business to the scale that it is today. Now, if we could just get him to give users a CHOICE on which interface we like better.... That would be stellar.
