  1. As for getting to my favorites and all... well... all the important keys are in the right sspot, barring that "Z" for shouting, that's just a pain. My pinky finger does not like to be pressed in that position. Same with using ALT for running, so next time I play agian, I will move them. Other than that, once you get the hang of it the interface is ok. Not brilliant, not perfect, but survivable ok.

What I miss is the zoom option on the keyboard. Scrollwheels are nice, but I use a trackball. No scroll-wheel. But really, as far as I can tell the map doesnt improve much by zooming in so its ok.

That's pretty much my experience even though the keyboard based scrolling function and mouse clicks can be a bit confusing. (The Level Up interface is especially lousy, I can scroll between the various perks with my mouse, but when I click on the perk I want to select, it simply scrolls away - I have to use the Enter button to allocate perk points to it).

The Favorites... well, I'm not a 'realism freak', but pressing Q to freeze time and switch a lot of equipment, drink potions or even read a book, while the attacker is waiting for you patiently seems to be a bit iffy - the old way of using the numeric keys from 1 to 8 was a tad bit better, but that's just my opinion.

I might also add that the interface looks to me like a precursor to Fallout IV rather than a UI for a fantasy game, so I will welcome a facelift when somebody decides to release one.

Just wanted to add that you can still use 1-8... :P

I don't like how the mouse/scroll works with the UI, but I am slowly learning to use wasd and enter for the UI instead. ;) (Once I've done that, it's much easier.)

  2. To all those wondering about if left mouse button was for the left hand and the right mouse button was for the right hand, it isn't by default:

Screenshot credit goes to the user "Perked" for his thread, 10th post.

That's what I've been saying all along! :D

Thanks for the confirmation, nate! ;)

  3. in black ops it did make sense... if you hold one weapon, it's in your right hand, fire with lmb... if you hold two, that weapon is still in your right hand... hence... :P

but still, you should be able to block with two weapons...

JUST 16 HOURS FOR SKYRIM NOW

    You cannot block while dual-wielding.

    One-Handed+Shield:

    Right: Block

    Left: Attack

Shield+One-handed (Uncertain, but most likely, because of how dual wielding works according to Pete Hines' explanations...):

    Right: Attack

    Left: Block

    Two-Handed:

    Right: Block

    Left: Attack

    Dual-Wield:

    Right: Attack

    Left: Attack

  4. Awesome! :D

I've been wishing for something like this for a while, now, as it makes it much easier to help people find mods when you can exclude some things!

But, I would refrain from excluding language tags! Some mods (A few of mine included, like Kvatch Rebuilt and Viking Village) have multiple languages tagged, because of translations - so, for instance, some English mods would be lost if you exclude French or German tags...

  5. i wonder what fixes skyrim patch 1.1 has in it?

My guess is whatever the reporters reported(^^), and perhaps the animation glitches in the starting of the game that was showed in the leaked video.

I think it's a good thing that they release an update early on, as it's a great chance to fix everything that was reported pre-release by reporters. :)

Pete says the reviews come out Thursday morning! Huzzah!

They are already here. I have seen a 4 page magazine article and a 4 hour walk through of the beginning of the game. Just today. Not gonna post them(to anyone who dares ask); go find them yourself.

That was made by Atomic, and the article says that no other than ID Software are the developers. I would take that article with a grain of salt.

  7. I've seen a video of way more than the first 20 minuets. But I love how it begins. I'm just hoping that the graphics are better than what they show, I'm sure they will be.

Remember that the video quality is also INCREDIBLY bad, so that makes it look much worse than it is. Also remember that it is on the Xbox, which has bad graphics compared to the PC. ;)

  8. Get your Skyrim Xbox Avatar Items now! (...For those interested^^)

  9. Incorrect, non-spoilered pictures were posted that showed the thing in action, thus completely ruining the surprise. It also revealed an item that dealt with said spoiler, so you essentially had the location, the thing in question and an item related to the thing being spoiled. In fact, it would be more correct to say that not only would your friend tell you about the entire surprise party before it happens, he would also tell you what's in every present you'll receive. I'm not sure you actually know what the word "surprise" means if you can't see how this ruins it for people. It cannot possibly be a surprise if you already know what it is, roughly where it is and what you get from it.

As for the spoiler you put here, that's not surprising at all, since it has been in every game ever.

Aren't you surprised now? That you know what it is you'll find in the game? You won't be surprised when you play but you are surprised now. At least I am.

Same with decapitations. Pete Hines said no decapitations but hey wait. There are decapitations.

I didn't hear anyone complaining about that spoiler.

But to each his own. The first reaction means very little to me. It's what comes after that, that I care about. Like playing the game and experiencing what there is available in it. Whether I knew it before the game or not.

I'm excited now I want to hunt VAMPIRES!!! I want to sell their ash to Ronald. Or Reyland. Or whatever his name was in Oblivion!

You don't have to put a spoiler around decapitation - it's in the OP.

As for the LEAKED content, that's another matter. The discussion is rather pointless really. LEAKED content are not to be posted or discussed here, quite simple. And there is also now a red line in the OP stating this, so everyone SHOULD know it. Posts with leaked content WILL be removed, and in the worst case scenario, the user will be banned, as we've already seen in this thread before.

  10. ...It would be good to have merchants, thieves who rob them and such, and less mob spawns in the middle of the road. (there were even Oblivion portals next to the road, it was kind of ridiculous at times).

I found it quite realistic that there were portals next to roads, as it makes more sense that the Daedra would try to cut of the supplies between towns rather than just spawning a portal in the middle of nowhere, harming only the wildlife. :P

  11. Thats beyond a spoiler though .. thats a flat out leak that a lot of people who read this thread "like myself" don't want to see .. If bethesda gives away a spoiler I consider it pretty small .. but this is one thing I think a lot of people don't want to hear about on any thread :yucky: .. And this is a very popular thread that most of the long time users come to for news and new features... I've seen it already so I spoiled it for myself .. but I know your gonna piss a lot of people off if everyone starts talking about the leaked intro in here .. including some mods

I respect your wishes Zaldiir and I'll try not to complain again .. its your thread after all .. But I wish you would consider just how many people who are massive fans and fallowing every inch of this thread will still want nothing to do with that video.

Yeah, I understand, which is why I put it into a spoiler. :)

So, from here onward, every LEAKED content discussed in this thread should be put into spoilers, but most preferably not discussed at all.

  12. This is a thread about spoilers, so demands that posts should not contain spoilers will be ignored. (The red line in the OP should clarify that: "If you do not want to spoil the game, stop reading now!")

Im curious about after you escape your execution and you enter the world of Skyrim from the Cave, can we go back to that place.

Since I am such a kind person, I will put this in spoilers.^^

If the fort will be ruined forever, and we'll see another Kvatch eternal burning, be sure that I will also make another Kvatch Rebuilt style mod! ;) Though, the fort is on, or perhaps even outside, the borders...

But, BGS have learned a lot from modders, so perhaps they also learned that we want the cities to be fine. :P

  13. So, once the game comes out on the 11th, is this thread going to continue and become like an "ultimate description of Skyrim" thread>

It will only contain the most important stuff I guess. Since it's pinned in the General Skyrim Discussion forum, it has it's uses even after release. :)

  14. I watched both parts as well. Didn't give too much away, as the player just rushed through it. :D

But... It does look awesome! (A few hiccups here and there, but it is on a 6 months old build after all^^)

What do you mean an old build, i assume its the Actual Game from one of the guys who got the Game early.

Right, forgot that they didn't play that part in the old build... :/

Well, anyway, it's the Xbox. ;D (They don't get the PC version early)
