[Help Plz] CBBE + textures, seams not blending
rhowington replied to lordvalinar's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Coverwomen will always have a lighter face than your body and is one of the reasons I never use it with CBBE. You will be better off installing SG Female Texture Renewal to avoid these problems. -
Trying to make a follower in ck but her forehead is grey, help!
rhowington replied to FXM420's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
To fix this problem temporarily move the tint masks folder from textures/actors/character/character assets/ to your desktop. Export the facegen data and then replace the tint masks folder. -
SSD vs HDD Cell Loading and Texture Pop In
rhowington replied to Aminados's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Rendering grass or any object in Skyrim does not depend on your drive but your graphics card and how it handles DirectX 9. Overclocking and SLI setups do not always help and, in some cases, cause problems. Heavily modded is the keyword. What mods you use and their interaction with other mods is not something a SSD or any hardware can improve. Except for load time an SSD doesn't improve gameplay. It is all up to the rendering of the graphics card. -
I am using 331.58 and ENB v.229. I think it is quite stable.

You need to delete or rename your old Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini in your documents\games\skyrim folder and have Steam regenerate them.

If you installed a lot of mods at one time, there is no way to tell what the conflict is. It is good practice to install just a few mods (explicitly following the authors instructions) and testing before installing more. I also look at when the last update was and if it was more than a year old I am leery. Other causes are graphic card memory, cpu, ram; all of which you should put on your post.

If you are using a cracked version of Skyrim, do not expect any help from this forum.

I have installed NMM as per my instructions on both Windows 7 & 8/8.1 operating systems with SKSE as the launcher since I started using mods. If you are going to use NMM, this is the proper way of installing. However, learning how to install manually will give you a better grasp of modding and the process, plus you will avoid the pitfalls of incorrect NMM installation.

Upgraded to Win 8.1 today, works better than 8
rhowington replied to rhowington's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
My ROG laptop has a 3gb 670m graphics card and, as I said in a previous post, I use Nvidia 327.23 drivers. I did not have the problem as thrahistan, my Skyrim launched after the update without a problem but, like him, the performance is better. -
Make a folder called games on your c: drive (or d: or e: it doesn't really matter) and put NMM there. For instance c:\games\Nexus Mod Manager.

Upgraded to Win 8.1 today, works better than 8
rhowington replied to rhowington's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Performance of Windows is smoother and launches slightly quicker. Gameplay doesn't change except (and it may be my imagination) it seems to me the latest Nvidia drivers 327.23 seem to be better optimized. I played for several hours using E ENB and had no lockups or CTDs. Outdoors between Dragon Bridge and Falkreath 40-50 fps. Bathing Beauties Suite, lowest was 25 but mostly around 30-40 fps. I haven't had any problems with NMM, SKSE, or my optimized skyrimprefs. I am not a reviewer but from my experience today, I am happy with the update. -
Just wanted to tell everybody I upgraded my ASUS ROG laptop to Windows 8.1 today. One of the glitches was I had to remove my second hard drive. After that, the installation took about 50 minutes. I started Skyrim through SKSE an it ran flawlessly. I hope every upgrader has as good experience.

Removing mods, especially scripted ones, invariably breaks your save and the interactions with followers. You may have no resort but to start a new game.

Run a good antivirus and anti adware program on your computer.

I used Realvision in the past and would recommend it. I haven't tried K ENB but I think it is close to Kountervibe.

Building a gaming PC specialized for Skyrim.
rhowington replied to Dovahking96's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You will always get more bang for your buck if you build your own. I haven't bought an off-the-shelf desktop in 20 years. Get a good case and power supply and you can just replace MBs and CPUs and GPUs. -
These Tera armors work perfectly with CBBE; http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29411//?, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27594//?, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/28258//?, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35977//?. If installed correctly, a desktop link with the target "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\skse_loader.exe" is all you need for SKSE to work properly.

Where will the Modding Community be in 2015
rhowington replied to PTMA's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Skyrim will continue to be modded up to the release of TESVI and probably afterwards for a while like Oblivion. MostlyMuggie, you are never too late. We always need new content. -
Skyrim unofficial Patch Breaking enchanting.
rhowington replied to thomriis's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Who is spreading all these rumors about the Unofficial Patches? -
If you had 4k textures installed and want to reduce to 2k, first uninstall the 4k textures. Close NMM to make sure the cache is cleared, open NMM and install the 2k textures. Delete the 4k textures from NMM. The same process is used if you reduce 2k to 1k. Also make sure you haven't deleted a file without uninstalling first. Also make sure you haven't uninstalled a file that is required by another mod. Most CTDs on load are caused by a missing dependant file.
-
Either you have the load order wrong (run BOSS if you haven't,) texture mods are overwritten in the wrong order, or a mod requires a master that you do not have. Read the instructions for every mod you install.
-
Make sure you uninstall the high texture mod first, close NMM, open NMM and install the lower quality texture. Delete the HQ texture.

AFT needs to be loaded as far down the list as possible. This is what my load order looks like: Follower Trap Safety.esp=1 ethereal_elven_overhaul.esp=1 OBISDB.esp=1 OBIS.esp=1 TimingIsEverything.esp=1 SkyFalls Plus SkyMills - All DLC.esp=1 SkyMills - Animated Distant Mills.esp=1 Convenient Horses.esp=1 WATER.esp=1 WATER Plants.esp=1 WATER DB Waves.esp=1 WATER DG.esp=1 AmazingFollowerTweaks.esp=1 Bashed Patch, 0.esp=1 My followers are directly above Follower Trap Safety. For me this is a very stable load order.

ENB Realvision is frustrating the crap out of me
rhowington replied to ADClope's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Re-download SIMM and follow the instructions on the SIMM main page for its installation.
