  1. Semi self answer, found I can hide stuff with 1
  2. creacraki.png Pretty straight forward question which I am having a hard time finding an answer to: How can I select an object within a large region marker. In the image I am doing a babbys first doors mod but I cannot select the teleport marker after creating it because of the two massive boxes it sits within. The way I have been managing up until now was to find the object in the cell view outliner, opening up the objects settings and manipulating the 3D co-ordinates within there. Also a bit hard when I don't know what that thing is called yet. One source told me to use layers, I try it it but it is telling me it is breaking reference data if add it to one. Tried posting this to the Bethesda.net forum but it is a real pain.
  3. I have a pornographic collectible mod I've been planning(not bobbleheads). Holding on for the kit.
  4. I played female, Shaun looks like default male grandad
  5. Rarest item for me is fiber optics. Can't build any good arrays of heavy laser turrets as they take 4 each.
  6. Not necessarily picked clean, 95% of the population was wiped out and 200 years is like 6 generations. The map is also a lot smaller than reality. There simply hasn't been enough man power or social infrastructure to clean up the place.
  7. The game has scrap benches which you assign settlers to gather scrap. Creating stores also produces bottle caps in your bank. Go out and collect all the settlements, fill them with scrap benches, next up create a few settlements that produce food and water and use those to feed the scrap workers. I tend to use a central hub which connects to every other settlement. The settlers complain about being hungry but the happiness, food and water bars say otherwise.
  8. Yeah it's hard to define what a sound sounds like =P Yeah it doesn't appear to be a game/computer clock chime. Further defining it, it sounds like a cowboy sound affect: Picture the O.K. Corral, the scene starts with the blistering sun. ~Here the sound effect the "boing" would go off harmonizing with a few puffs on the harmonica followed by a descending whistle that fades out.~ The camera pans down to the arena as the two opponents face off, a tumble weed blows in between the two, triggering the draw as it passes between them. One opponent falls, it was the good guy! ~Next audio segment does the "boing" followed by a chorded lower version of the "boing", accompanied by a rattle snake and another descending whistle.~ Well that was fun to write =P Next hypothesis is it may be a common sound effect around destroyed metal objects like playground equipment or car doors.
  9. 155 hours in and the biggest question I have for the game is... what is that boing sound that happens randomly as though it was a signal for something? Is it just a clock chime for my computer on the hour?
  10. Don't ya just command them to the suit in the construction menu commands?
  11. I joined the brotherhood at the cop station. Did I f*#@ up my chances to befriend the institute?
  12. Found a couple of teddy bears having sexy time on the conveyour belt in that brewery you in with the guy from the radio to save that Russian dude.
  13. Maybe there are some limitation, I use 308 Hunting rifle. Also there is a stat when crafting listed as range. I assumed that was only affecting the damage drop off.
  14. That is within range I make those shots alot(assuming it is the long scope). But notice top left that some of the environment is missing/shitty texture. That looks like a low draw distance and might be the culprit.
  15. Yeah I have two guys in this settlement so far, and one of them is going at it in the garden, but I try to assign the other guy and he just stands there. Can I not have more than one person gardening? I select different plants? EDIT: Ha sorry I need to read things better. Farm workers get auto assigned if anyone in the settlement are idling. I think someone posted that one settler can handle something like 3-6 food I forget it's actual number. So you assign them to a plant and they'll go around gathering from any plants until they reach their cap. eg: 1 settler can handle 5 mutfruits or 10 tatos or 3 gourds, 2 melons, 2 mutfrutits and 1 corn(assuming their total is 5). For the buildings, you need to do it by hand. start from the top down. Maybe there will be a mod one day to reset the settlement and store all objects.
  16. Share a screenshot of what sort of range we are talking. Beyond a distance any object instances become inactive. Npc's should not be visible beyond this distance. I'm not sure is fallout actually uses a physical object to do hit detection with ballistics, but if it does, try maxing object draw distance. Maybe the bullet is literally despawning =P
  17. They do pop up on the left but only for a moment without having taken the castle. It'll populate in misc quests. It is poopy
  18. Confirmed auto regen in survival. Additional note: dunno how you guys play on the lower difficulty, survival isn't hard enough.
  19. Likely under complete quest. Here's a link to how it was done in Skyrim. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/615805-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/61715731 To gather the ID's use ShowQuestTargets pageUp until you see "current quest", that'll be the ID for what is selected in the pipboy menu. You can be the guinea pig, let us know how you go =P
  20. Not sure, I just completed the Kellog quest with him as a companion. After the fight he exchanged a few bits of dialogue and said he was returning to Diamond city. I have no idea where he is now. NPC's/Actors can be reset but they may break the game by resetting their quests. Remember, the first time you find Nick he is imprisoned in Vault 114.
  21. Coming back to this, this is probably the result of not creating any access to the settlement. You are being punished for creating no entrances. It's like creating a wall in a tower defense game. The game recognizes that there are no access points by creating a path to the workshop in order to choose a spawning location. You might be able to get around this (assuming this is how it works) by creating open access to the workshop, but walling off the rest of your settlement, like a horseshoe.
  22. You are forgiven, all games these day promote "cover thumb-sucking regeneration" =D
  23. I went into this expecting the graphics as they are, the lighting itself was better than expected. I'd probably go in and look at what the particles are doing an optimize them for performance. I'm also quite impressed by the players animation. If I got paid, I'd go through and reanimate all the speech animations. They make my head spin.
  24. Hey guys, lets share some of your best constructions. Here I want to show what is possible in the Hangmans Alley location. Still a work in progress, but it is exceptionally well to fortify and there is 4-5 stories of vertical build space. On the second last image is a trick to get rid of those pesky cables running through your buildings. Use it on a lot of things that are just messing with you Fengshui such as the shrubs covering your farmlands or corpses and ashpiles. Just remember if it doesn't disappear you have likely selected the wrong thing. Keep the console up and type enable to prevent something important disappearing(such as the ground). http://s196.photobucket.com/user/neonfox_bucket/slideshow/HangmansAlley The settlements population is now at 18, living quarters are on the first level and my workshop sits above that. Yet to reset the build weight.
  25. I've always been on top of crippled limbs so I haven't notice this, I may do some tests. It still is a valuable gameplay mechanic as if you are waiting until combat ends you are being put at a disadvantage. Crippled head and arms will wreck your aiming, crippled legs stop you from running and I think crippled abdomen increases the damage you take. If you are playing on survival I can't stress this enough, use food to heal and use stimpacks to decripple and emergency heals at least for the first 10 levels or so until you get the medic perks. I am level 28 now and through rationing and crafting I still only have 80(seems like a lot but that's 40 hours of gameplay constantly eating food and picking up every item I see), I also have no medic perks yet. Keep an eye out for the Survival mags as they will improve the benefits of food. Off the top of my head, you can find one at the Sunshine Tidings co op settlement.
