  1. Thank you for your feedback! I would like to record the lines myself but I do not have a good enough mic to do so, meaning I cannot get rid of enough of the background noise for it to be top quality in game. I am going to try finding my other mic I have somewhere around my house tomorrow to see if that improves my recordings. I have also reached out to a talented voice actor to see if they can do the voice the way I envision it and are able to have the level of commitment needed. If I end up able to do the lines myself I will still need voice actors because there are other very large roles in the quest line that are continuous characters who are likely to have over 100 lines so it is still good to reach out to voice actors at this point in mod development just to get samples and options to make this mod the best it possibly can be. As for recordings in my normal voice, I will get some done tomorrow, hopefully I can find my good mic headset, if not I'll just re-record those three sample lines with my usual gaming mic. Oh, I have a list of high quality VAs. If you want to see it, just PM me and I'll link it to you. They all do work on mods.
  2. MOLAG BAL'S INFERNO Requirements Skyrim Dragonborn Dawnguard Description Molag Bal's Inferno is a multi-level dungeon mod that takes place in a hellish Daedric realm, featuring 8 new dungeons complete with enemies, bosses, and events. There is an overarching, fully voice acted quest tied into the Inferno, with unique rewards and a very unique boss fight. This mod was made for the 4th r/skyrimmods modding contest by multiple modders, in just under 5 weeks. Each part of the Inferno was created by a different modder. Enter if you dare. 3. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69811/? Just released quest mod. And don't be angry at Boombro, he was helping just fine.
  4. There are, indeed, mods that are dependent on the patches. It's not the most common thing though.
  5. 1 out of 5. chances of it going beyond concept so far.... 1 out of 24 It's because most modders have their own ideas, their own things to do. Writers don't bring as much to the table because they can't actually implement it. Not that writers can't be important and beneficial to a project - but you can't make a mod with just a writer. You can make many as just an author.
  6. Depends on the mod. Beyond Skyrim has a whole writing department, and they do the writing, we implement, etc. Some mods have this. Some mods don't. Sometimes the mod author is a capable enough writer - sometimes they just think this and it's not actually true, also. Sometimes they don't want to work with writers. Sometimes there's no need. And sometimes they do. It's whatever ends up happening.
  7. My second mod for Skyrim (previous were for Oblivion with like 7 endorsements :P ) made it to the hot files, and it was DEFINITELY not armor/weapons or porn mod. It was goddamn taxes. My other Skyrim mod before that was super unknown too, with like 60 endorsements and no hot files for it. So no. This is not the case.
  8. NIF has to be correctly set up for a MoveableStatic, for one. Make sure that's set up right first.
  9. Wtf, I told him to mod for himself, not for others, why do you always make me seem like a bad influence? Sounds like "don't release a mod, no one ever gets their mods recognized unless everyone loves them" which is not true in the slightest. Plenty of huge mods were made by people who were never popular - and popular mod authors have made plenty of disliked or unrecognized mods.
  10. Don't listen to Kerberus on this one, please. Mod what you want, and if you want to share it, do so. Don't mod just to get validation from users in the form of endorsements or something. Just make what you want, and share it if you want. It's your creation.
  11. That's not actually true. He said they weren't a possibility anytime soon, because they were really busy. Plus, it'd be an absolutely stupid choice for PR, everyone would hate them all over again. Doesn't mean it's not happening in the future - Pete Hines, at one point, said something to the effect "it's definitely something we want to look at in the future, it'd be awesome, but not atm".
  12. Are you the one adding the items to the formlist, or is it a different formlist populated either thru vanilla or a different mod? Also, yeah, it's useful, and used in places often enough. If you are the one adding to the formlist, you could have a large array of aliases and cycle through, filling the first empty alias you find. Or when you add one, rerun the quest, or whatever. But if it's an object that can be in your inventory, the quest won't fill those in your inventory, because it's not really loaded and objects in the inventory lose all "individuality", essentially. With a few exceptions.
  13. I think a tag would be better. Doesn't warrant a whole section.
  14. Good luck with it! If you ever need any help with any aspects of it, feel free to shoot me a PM. Also: "I want to thank Mattiewagg for his follower framework tutorial and help over the last few days, he responded quickly and was very informative." *She/her
  15. What I did was create two seperate topics, with an invisible continue connecting them, and a forcegreet package to initiate dialogue. Blank dialogues don't seem to work for me, so you might wanna rewrite your dialogue in a way that you can split it into two seperate topics. This is what the (absolutely amazing) dialogue looks like: http://i.imgur.com/z92K9H3.png This is what it looks like: Unfortunately, I've already tried that and it doesn't work as it should. I'll give it another try, though.
  16. If you have a forcegreet or blocking topic that doesn't link to anything, AND is marked as goodbye, it won't actually open conversation with the player. It'll just say it outside of conversation, like a hello when you pass by someone. I've tried making an invisible continue to break it into two topics so dialogue is actually opened, but rather than invisible-continuing it'll just give the player the choice of "..." to continue. I really need this to be a goodbye, but it also would feel a lot less weird and less buggy if it actually opened conversation with the player. Is there a way to make a one-topic goodbye forcegreet/blocking branch open conversation with the player?
  17. Probably an alias setting them to essential or something.
  18. That actually looks reaaaaaaaaally good. I can't help, but that looks very nice and realistic. I WANT MORE CLOTHES FROM YOU! :P
  19. There are plenty of tutorials around for the Creation Kit. If you prefer video, Beth has a set of tutorials to start out. If you prefer text, then here are the tutorials on the (amazing) wiki: http://www.creationkit.com/Category:Tutorials My scripting guide is coming out soon. It covers everything. If you want a hands-on thing with lessons just for you, or something like, then you can A) PM someone who seems knowledgeable and see if they're kind enough to help or B) sign up at the Arcane University - however, this is only for people interested in joining Beyond Skyrim for the most part. And this sort of thing does\require quite a bit of patience, so you should be able to spare it for people who ARE willing to help.
